On another note i have a new Angelfood contest on my page...check it out Skittle's page love always~jamie ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 18 Jan 1999 15:46:29 +1100 (EDT) From: blh301@coombs.anu.edu.au (Barry Howarth) Subject: JewelMerch questions Hi Angels, In the past I had nothing but good service from the Jewel Shop/JMerch, but late last year things went bad. My problem wasn't that I didn't get what I ordered: I got double what I ordered, and of course got charged double. I have e-mailed JMerch at the address on the invoices [ jewel@cts.com] several times but have had no reply. I could be cynical and say they've got my money, so they're in no hurry to fix my problem. But I think the real problem is that they seem to be pretty disorganised at JMerch. But they're no worse than CDNow, who advertised they had the "Morning Song" single but after a number of months have not yet delivered. That's private enterprise for you. But JMerch should be better. Take care, Barry Howarth ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 17 Jan 1999 22:39:12 -0800 (PST) From: AgentBB Subject: Knock Out 2 I was wondering if someone could tell me what Out magazine it was that put out the compliation CD, their are 2 I could find on the net the one new mexico gay/lesbian magazine and the new zealand one. agentbb007@yahoo.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 18 Jan 1999 03:14:45 EST From: Angeljlr98@aol.com Subject: Jewel discography (a few more) These are a few more I can remember right now... - -The Rugburns-"Taking the World By Donkey" album (Jewel sings "Old Lover's House" with Steve) ---This album is out of print. - -Modern Rock Live-Jewel sings "Who Will Save Your Soul" with a little intro message "I just hope one day my hands can catch up with what I say in my head..." or something along those lines. This mostly just came as a promo with CD players and stuff. - -First Quarter sampler-"You Were Meant For Me (Remix)" - -Spew 8-Jewel sings "WWSYS" - -Spew Remixes-YWMFM (remix) - -this Christmas CD I got out of a magazine...something like WInter, Fire, Snow (Jewel sings "Angel Standing By") - -1997 Grammy nominees-WWSYS I think... - -Women in Songs (???) some Canadian CD I think...Foolish Games, I think. _The German Morning Song single...pscha can't believe I forgot that one. - -Rolling Stone, Women in Rock - -another Spew...don't know which-Jewel sings "I'm Sensitive" (maybe 9?) not to mention all the Euripean, New Zealand, and Japan versions of Pieces of You, and the European versions of the YWMFM, WWSYS, and Foolish Games singles. Alright...I quit =) Take Care... Jamie ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 18 Jan 1999 03:08:18 PST From: "Khoi C" Subject: Acoustic guitar/Roseanne show Greetings EDAs! I know this subject may have been brought up before, but I would really appreciate some help. I have been really inspired by Jewel to learn guitar so I can play her music. I really need some recommendations as to a good beginner's guitar to play Jewel's folky kind of music on (e.g. PoY and her other unreleased songs), along with anything else I should know, such as strings etc. Also, being a Jewel fan in Australia, we don't really hear much about Jewel down here. She isn't in all the magazines, and she's hardly ever on TV. That being the case, any TV appearances of hers is obviously pretty special! :) I'm not sure if her Roseanne appearance has aired here yet, so if any Americans can help me by telling me about the other guests on the show, or preferably guests on the couple of shows before hers, that would be great! Mike :-) USA Today January 18, 1999 JEWEL'S NEW FACET - On Wednesday, pop singer Jewel and her mother/manager, Nedra Carroll, will launch Higher Ground For Humanity to promote global community and humanitarian values. The goal is to endorse less-established organizations that have difficulty getting traditional funding. Jewel hopes to pursue education and research programs in the arts, alternative health care and spiritual development. She'll perform several benefit concerts, starting Friday in Aspen Colorado, for a series of awareness-raising promotions co-sponsored by Vogue, which has Jewel on its' January cover ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 18 Jan 1999 15:13:25 EST From: ABershaw@aol.com Subject: MrBB- Charlie Rose Update/JMerch/CLB "LR16" CD Hi all, A decision has been made to postpone the PBS Charlie Rose Show until probably next Spring sometime. So that will not be happening this month as we previously thought. Otherwise, Mike already posted everything on TV that I'm currently aware of for this week. The Japan tour date venues & a few miscellaneous additions to Jewel's website calendar will be up soon. Check it periodically for updates at www.jeweljk.com. I noticed two international JMerch order complaints on the list recently & I forwarded both to the JMerch office. They are doing excellent work with the countless orders that have come in over the past few months, but on rare occasions, problems can occur. They want EVERY JMerch customer happy, so if you have a problem with your order, simply call them toll free & they will correct it. (If you can't call toll free, email me & I'll help you by forwarding your complaint to the JMerch office.) If youre exstatically happy, feel free to write me & I'll forward that as well. And finally, heres an update on Cindy Lee Berryhill's soon to be released "Living Room 16" CD (aka "LR16"). This limited edition, signed CD will soon be available via mail order in North America. It will also have regular (non-signed) European retail distribution in stores a few months afterwards (this March probably). This particular January 1998 recording was a special one-off duo performance in San Francisco where CLB was accompanied by her previous Garage Orchestra cellist Renata Bratt. The title, "LR16" is in reference to this gig being the 16th gig on the legendary Living Room Tour. All CLB fans will no doubt love this CD & its a delicious taste of the Living Room Tour for those interested in this EDA inspired phenomenon. She'll also be recording a full blown studio album later this year, but the LR16 CD should be available for web or mail ordering in the next month or so. I'll definitely post info when its available. So how many of you rich EDA's are heading to Madison Square Garden next week. Is anyone interested in having a Gathering beforehand? The actual show starts somewhere around 7:30. A nice dinner/get-together can be sometime between 5 & 7pm. If anyone has any ideas on a place/time to meet let's hear it. Mail me privately & we'll make some plans. See you there!!!!!!!!! I just want to add my opinion on Jewel non-albums songs. I think, I may be dreaming or something, but I think Jewel could make a double cd with her non-album songs. They are incredible songs. You Angels know, just hear your angelfood and tell me, aren't they incredible good? Doing this Jewel would be showing all her good work to the world. :) Well, it's just my thought. Anyone else would like this idea?
