I'm going to be moving out there from the east coast in about a month to start a new job. I'd love to meet any of you in the area after I get out there since I'm not going to know hardly anybody. I figure the EDAs out there are sure to be groovy, kind people oozing with good musical taste! So drop me a line if you have a chance. I'll have this email account until the end of the month and then I'm packing up my car and motoring west. Well, as my fellow non-North American EDA's can testify, it can be a frustrating experience being a Jewel fan in Europe and elsewhere, with Jewel appearances about as regular as Yeti sightings. However, after last week stumbling across Jewel singing 'All By Myself' during 'Clueless', I then finally saw Jewel's appearance on 'Later with Jools Holland' (UK series) on BBC Prime on Friday, complete with wonderful version of YWSYS, the video of which I finally saw for the first time outside the web on MTV on Saturday. Request for help: I presently have in my possession, a CD entitled 'Women and Songs', issued by warner Bros, Canada in '97. I have it on loan from a friend, who doesn't have the CD box, and I NEED to know the full track listing. It features Foolisg games as the opening track, as well as Where have all the Cowboys Gone by Paula Cole, I Will Remember you by Sarah McLachlan, Missing/ Everything but the Girl, Tom's Diner/Suzanne Vega and Constant Craving/kd lang among others. If you have the full track listing, please mail me. Keep smiling, Adrian, Irish EDA in exile ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 11 Jan 1999 22:39:26 +0800 From: "Ginster" Subject: Like WOW! Aussie Angel Calling! Hi All... Well, just finished watching and emotionally charged episode of "Felicity" - you know, that US Soapie which mixes the wit and charm of Ally McBeal with the tear jerking, heart muscle tactics of Party of Five (i.e... it's very good!!)... well anyway, it was that episode where Felicity's friend was raped. Well, until now, I have never appreciated Jewel's utterly brilliant "Absence of Fear". Oooh... it was like played at the very end of the episode and it was like the tear jerker to end all tear jerkers. An amazingly accurate and touching song. The song was just so appropriate and amazingly touching. Her angelic voice, her soulful lyrics... And what's more... it's now official - I love every single song on Spirit (apart from This Little Bird (which I kinda like)! An amazing release from Jewel... just such a stunning artist in all aspects. Spirit is just the CD that everyone needs to own - it's really that good! And all this arguing and debate over her change in styles... well get over it really. Look at Madonna... it has NEVER hurt her (well apart from release some sordid sex book - but we know Jewel is way too classy for that)!!!! So thanks for listening... all you Jewel fans in the US have probably already seen the episode (coz Australia is like always ten years behind, but I just thought I'd tell you all). I haven't written in a long time so I figured I would just reassure everyone that I am still alive. Here's a little more insode about that Jewel and *N Sync connection. I love *N Sync and Jewel. One of the guys in the group, Joey Fatone, has expressed interest in recording a song with her. And he also likes her, too. People have asked him who he would like to record a song with, and he mention other names, but Jewel's name was present. (Joey mainly said that he would like to record with someone who's style wasn't really like their's). What do you think the possiblity of Jewel and *N Sync recording a song together? I'd like to hear it.
