This is just in response to all the talk around bad Spirit reviews and stuff like that. I think that the reason some people (or, maybe it's just me, I don't know.) take bad reviews to heart is because it seems to be a reflection of a person's judgement or opinion. I mean, if Suzy Sunshine just LOVES John Doe's band, the Nobody's, and then reads a review saying "This album is stupid, pointles, childish" blah blah blah, she might think that it is an insult (of some sort) to her--saying she's stupid for liking it or something. I guess I'm trying to say that I love the song "Deep Water". If someone came along and said "Well, that song is SO stupid...." then I would feel almost as though they are calling me, or my views, stupid. I guess. I dunno. If anybody knows what I'm trying to say, please help me explain it, cuz it almost sounds to me as though I may not know what I'm talking about..... Has anyone took the quiz on "Keyword Roiling Stone" Because I'm pretty sure that one of those answers are wrong!!!!! There one that says: About the tooth: A. Jewel dad told her to fix it B. It sometimes get slimy stuff stuck in it C. She had braces but took them off Those are not the exact words but pretty close. Anyway, I didn't know what to chose because I don't see the right answer, unless I don't know Jewel as well as I thought! So I went over them, I said, "It can't be C because she said she couldn't afford them, And it can't be A because on the Rosie show she said that her dad never wanted her to fix them because he said that she'd never be on TV," And I have no idea about B so I chose it and It was wrong, The answer was A. (except me!!!) Hi all, Remember a while back when I said that Jewel was going to be on my fav. morning radio show? (Charlie and Athina show). Well, she was on today (Thurs) and I've got it all on tape. Now, Charlie (her biggest fan) was sooooo excited about meeting her when she insulted him!!! Now, this show is like really popular so a lot of people listen to it and love it!!!! It was an interview so like in ALL interviews, the Interviewer ALWAYS asks questions right?? Well, Charlie was asking her questions about how it was living in her van. The she like snapped at him, and said, well, I'll just put it down here: JEWEL: Do you know anything about me?!?! CHARLIE: well, yes I do (nervously) JEWEL: Then why are you asking me this?!?!?! CHARLIE: Well, I'm asking you this for the listeners benefit. JEWEL: The listeners know everything about my believe me?!?! CHARLIE: Well, I'm sorry Jewel, I'm sorry if I've offended you in anyway!! Then after she left, like almost the whole town started calling saying that she had no right to talk to him like that and that she was way out of line, That she is soooo uptight, that's they're not going to buy her cds because now they know the TRUE Jewel, what's behind that sweet voice, They're not going to support her anymore, and stuff like that!!!!!!! They even put like a 3 year old on the hone to say "My mommy said when I'm a guest, I'm supposed to be nice" But what I think is that Charlie is the one uptight!!!! But I agree that Jewel should't have answered like that! She just lost all her fan in Fresno (where I live) but not me!!!!! I'm kinda used to Jewel smart remarks!! Like when she tells people to shut up when she's trying to talk! It hardly bother me!!!!! I still love her!!! But I think that, that was the first and last time that she will be on that show!!! After I heard all those calls that people were going to stop supporting her like I got sad because she's a really nice person!!!!!! And my mom told me "don't be sad" I'm like, About what? Yes, the show did happen & it was taped for future broadcast. Jewel did perform as well as being interviewed & I'm told she even demonstrated some "roping" techniques that she's learned, hehehe.. We're not sure of broadcast day but we think its going to be next Wednesday, the 16th. This is tentative at this point, but I'm sure next weeks Roseanne schedule will be finalized this weekend & we'll know for sure by then.
