Walking into a crowded room is awkward. A welcome smile, a friendly nod of the head, or even better, a kind word makes more of a difference than most people realize. Thanks all. Next, I thought I'd jump in on the discussion of Hands. Some one made comment on "...worry is wasteful.." and how true it was. Not to re-iterate but truer words were never spoken. I learned that lesson my freshman and sophmore year at Uni. To this day I have found no purpose in worry. Don't confuse worry with concern however. It's alright to be concerned about something or someone, but dont let that concern drift into worry. All you can do is what you can do. The result, regardless, is a lesson worth learning. Also, the imagery of Hands is superlative IMHO. The works accomplishable with one pair of hands is more diverse than most of us give credit for. Tack onto that what can be accomplished by hands linked together and you get into the realm of accomplishing things normally thought of as only being accomplished thru God's hands. And maybe we are. I think thats what I hear in that song. One pair of hands againt the world, but they are my own, not yours. One pair of hands, God's hands. I am quite certain that the story will be in all the newspapers (and many overseas papers too) and available online at various news related websites. I was told that it was airing at 6:30 central time, yet it came on at 12:30 in the afternoon! So if someone has this, let me know so we can work something out. The easiest thing is to send me your tape, I can dub it onto mine, then send yours back. That way you don't even have to own more than one VCR....I'll do all the work. I'd appreciate it. Second, how many of you saw Jewel on the Regis show this morning? She had about a 5 minute interview, and then sang...drum roll...no, not Hands, not YWMFM, not WWSYS, not even Near You Always, and not Down So Long, but......What's Simple Is True!!! What a shocker. Not a single, not a future single most likely, and not an older song. That was cool of her. It sounded good and she looked nice. Simple, and true. ha ha. It was one of the better interviews she's done since Spirit came out...as far as talk shows go. I'm excluding JewelTV of course. Regis gave her some good plugs for all her work...the movie, book, CD, RS cover even...etc. They crammed everything into the time slot she had....amazingly. The RS cover is a bit different...not what I was expecting. Does anyone have their issue yet? They may have received an advanced copy for the show. Anyway, that's about it for now.
