It sounds good is all. Real good. And if you don't like it, you don't have to be eda's anymore. No matter what kind of music you wanna label it as, it is still beautiful and it's still Jewel so you just need to get over it. I'm sorry that I ever had to write this. Much love to all the faithful Jewel listeners and fans that have stayed true to themselves, Jewel, and keep the faith! Angels, I was just listening to this radio show Open House Party and they said HANDS is the hottest song of the week. Just thought you might want to know. :) w/b Love Always, ~Kristin~ "The big moments are going to come, you can't help that. It's what you do afterwards that counts. Your right to your opinion is deeply respected by me so comments on the following are openly accepted. So here goes... my philosophy or theory of life in general is that all people change, physically and spiritually, through every experience in life there are many things learned. and right now i believe that people undergo certain phases that are repeated through out their life (e-mail me if you are interested in what I believe these to be) and through the completion of each phase people gain a different perspective on life in general. i don't know if "Hands" was written in direct relation to how Jewel feels and sees things at this point in her life, or if it is more hopeful of how she would like to feel about things, or just simply wrote it about how some people view such issues. In any case the song is beautiful in written verse and in musical and instrumental sound. i believe it to cover a broad range of topics all tied together by our own hands, b/c like she has said before, we create our own destiny with our own hands, no other can alter that. Whether we use our hands to offer help to each other or use them as silencers and blinders to the world around us, we are creating ourselves as well as the world in which we live. By what i've seen and heard, Jewel has used her hands to make change and help people with the hope of creating a better world (i know that sounds cheesy, but its true), and critics and opposers of such issues seem to have made little use of their hands, and don't seem to make any effort other than verbal opposition to change things to their liking. i don't believe we should complain about what other people are doing especially if their actions are positive, in my view Jewel changing her music is her own choice. Just as we have the right to make our own choices of what we like and don't like, Jewel also has this right. So in conclusion (i know finally) here is my stupid little analogy, if you don't like the food you're being fed, use your HANDS and make your own meal, cause complaining only disgusts everybody around you and you still have to eat it or starve. i know it was a bad analogy and sorry for the long length of this post. Thank you, to all of you who have taken the time to trudge through all this just for an opinion of mine, remember I welcome all of your comments. - -Liz "the ever changing angel in the making" ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 18 Oct 1998 11:35:49 EDT From: AmyC22@aol.com Subject: Jewel on Rosie Ok, I have a question. Just the other day it was posted that Jewel was going to be on Rosie O'Donnel on Nov. 18, and in V# #561 it says (which I thought originally) she will appear on Nov. 16 (from the cut article from Billboard). Can anyone confirm the real date, because I may be able to go and it would help a lot if I knew the correct date. Thanks! - - Amy *the raindrop angel* ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 18 Oct 1998 19:06:42 PDT From: "Bruce Keezer" Subject: A change of heart Hi. I just wanted to clear up a little something about my opinion on Hands. I was going to do this anyway, but then I read what Tom had to say about my comment that hands was a little to pop for my tastes. Well, I heard Hands for the second time just this evening, and this is the first time I actually *listened* to it. It is a lot better than I first though. It still will never be my favorite Jewel song, but it's better than I first thought. Later...
