Atlantic hopes the LP she's now recording with producer Pat Leonard will end up a pop album instead. If so, it could go through the roof. Okay, I know we stopped talking about fan clubs...But I think a really great idea would be to host an official Jewel fan club at Fan Asylum (http://www.fanasylum.com) Jewel's management would set it up, and Jewel would have a lot of input into it...Fan Asylum hosts really good fan clubs...I know from experience...Thre would actually be a lot of benefits to a fan club, like preferred concert tickets and never-before-seen pictures in the newsletters...We could ask Jewel & her management (the people who have connections, that is).. I know a fan club sounds kind of cheesy, but you should check out some of the official fan clubs they're hosting over there...they're amazing...and only $19/year... http://www.fanasylum.com/ Scott Evans The Harbinger Angel Where do I put this fire? Hi all! As this is my first post to the list, I am Christian from Germany. I read the digests for about one month now and have some idea: 1.) Many people ask for EDA's from their area. So why not make a list of the EDA's (I'm mainly thinking about european EDA's) with the area they are from? Maybe one of the European Jewel-site owners would put the list online then? If one site-owner e-mails me, I will create such a list... 2.) Americans are lucky enough to have plenty of Jewel appearances on TV, most of the TV shows never make it to Europe. Why not create a project like the Angelfoodbank, just with video-tapings? I am sure some EDA must be able to convert the tapes from NTSC to PAL and we could spread the tapes in Europe then... Ok, that's it for now, Christian. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 8 Sep 1998 14:11:04 -0300 (ADT) From: Jesse A McDonald Subject: Re: Innocence Maintained > I was in a clothing store yesterday at the mall (the Weathervane) and one of > my friends works there so we were just talking while she was vacuuming. Anybody know how they got a hold of that version of > Innocence Maintained?? If it's even on STL or Phyllis Barnaby.... then just > call me stupid. I just never realized it. :) That's really puzzling, especially since Innocence Maintained is so... well, it's not exactly easy listening... it's airwaves friendly, but I'd be surprised to hear a retail store playing something so opinionated and easily taken the wrong way... I won't go into detail, but suffice it to say that being part of a situation where Joy and Lisa shared their artistry with us in such a unique and intimate manner was a memory I will long treasure. The 20 other people who attended the show all reported similar reactions, and were very enthusiastic about the experience. I think Joy and Lisa enjoyed themselves as well :-) They're wonderful performers, and equally wonderful people. If you love music - and why else would you be on this list? - you owe it to yourself to get to an LRT show if it's at all feasible. There were very few EDA's at my place, but special recognition must be acknowledged for Jonathon Davis, who came to Montreal from Toronto with three of his friends just for the show. By the way, I was so moved by the experience, I had to have more, so I drove down to Taunton to catch the Dennis Harris (yes, the one and only - -thank goodness - Dennis Harris) LRT extravaganza there on Sunday. Dennis was a consummate host (at least, I think he was trying to consummate...), as were his co-hosts Jim and Jerry (sp?). Lisa and Joy of course put on another show that I can best describe as beautiful. The additional treat for me was being able to spend time in the company of other EDA's. It was great to have the all-too-rare opportunity to see familar faces, and finally meet others of whom I've long been aware. And while I don't want to play favourites, I must point out it was was particularly rewarding to see two of the key players whose invaluable contributions have made all this happen: organizer extraordinaire Duff, who worked out the logisitics of this whole current LRT with a mastery that would leave any professional booker envious; and Mr. BB himself, whose inspired vision is responsible for the LRT concept. Many kudos to both. (And as for seeing Mr. Kookybaka, well life doesn't get much better than that!) So don't hesitate. If you can get to one of the few remaining LRT shows, go and feed your soul. You won't regret it. Still basking in the afterglow of warm music and cameraderie, Gerry P.S. Although I've managed to get in touch with many of you and inform you of my new e-mail addy, for those of you who don't have it yet, this is where you can reach me now... ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 8 Sep 1998 21:03:26 EDT From: MelDerI@aol.com Subject: Free EDA picks?
