About a week ago I posted an e-mail stating an idea I had for a chatroom on AOL for EDA poets...... Well, I got tons of feedback on it and developed some ideas.... I may not be there to actually get the ball rolling and that is what this e-mail is here for. #1: The room is going to be a private room.... That way there are no distractions is people are sharing their poetry, thoughts, etc. The room will be: EDApoets I may not be there to start it....so iffen you're wanting to chat, you guys can handle it... I'll try to be there as much as possible.... #2 I'm suggesting a specific time for the room to be open to all the EDA's.... Preferably 9:00PM ET and after..... this seems to be the time when most EDA's are online.... This isn't meant to exclude anyone.... It's simply for the convenience of everyone, so that they don't have to walk into an empty room... (I know how you all hate that!) And lastly.......#3 I haven't forgotten all of you people that don't have AOL and can't access the chatrooms..... I'm already on top of that..... If you want to you can e-mail me some of your poems....and I would be more than happy to read/type your poems in the room so that others can hear them... I will also give your name and address (if you want, that is.....) so that you can maybe get some feedback on your poems... Just mind that you don't send me ten poems and expect to get them all in the room.... I only have 20 toes and fingers......::giggling:: I am also going to try to start a chatroom and have a message board where you all can post your poems if you want...... Be patient..... It's in the working process.... Sorry I rambled so long....but thank you all for your time.... I really hope that this can be a success..... I've met a lot of great people since I proposed the poetry idea (you all know who you are!) and would like to meet many more!! You all are such a talented bunch! Love Hugs and Faerie Dust!!! Once again I added a feature to my homepage! In 1997 I went to Jewel's concert in Amsterdam and I made some pictures. You can now see pictures of her concert on my personal homepage! There IS different. You can believe in God and not in organized religion. So she isn't a "strong Christian" (I wish someone would explain that to me, I mean I know people who go to church every Sunday, and go to Youth Group and are very preachy about God (sorry I hope I don't offend) but then every friday and sat night these same people are out drinking and smoking pot. So I would like to know what a "strong Christian: is) Yet I digress...Why can't she have a strong belief in God without flaunting it? Should she be like Amy Grant and sing Gospel music so everyone knows she believes? I don't think so. Her beliefs are HER beliefs. I don't feel she should be judged on them. She is a muscian. She should be judged soley on her music ability. Not her religious backround. Would you like her any less if she worsipped satan? I wouldn't, and do you know why? I love her music and her poetry, and if that stayed the same I would still like Jewel. I may not approve of her lifestyle, but I would still buy her music and books. Damn it, if a friend of mine who is going to be a preacher can dress in drag and sing "I could never be your woman" then anything is possable. Love, Teresa PS Why is "Sometimes It'll Be That Way" offensive to Christians? I am a Christian and I wasn't offended. If Christians should be offended it should be because of Madonna's "Like A Prayer" Video, Not Jewel's lyrics ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 27 Aug 1998 13:29:51 -0000 From: Subject: one request, a few doubts and comments about music coincidence. Hi all, and greetings from Canary Islands, (where it will be so difficult to see a Jewel concert). Well, I'm a long time Springsteen music fan (I don't like this word, but my English isn't as good as I would like, sorry for that), and a short (in time) Jewel music fan, and just want to do some comments about coincidence in both artist. This is because some days ago I received the excellents Radio and Rare Angels tapes compilations, and (1 connection) in the Rare tape you can hear Jewel said that she wrote RIDE AWAY because the influence from NEBRASKA Springsteen album. (2 connection) Both were requested by Sean Penn for the movie "The Crossing Guard". (3 contention) Both next albums will be in the streets November, 17th. Springsteen one will be a 6 CDs compilation, so they'll get into the selling list together. (4 connection) Me and My web. http://www.geocities.com/broadway/stage/4277/ ... And finally, could someone send me the "Ride Away" lyrics, or email me where out there can I find it?. Is there an unique archive compilation of Jewel lyrics?. or a compilation with the Jewel concerts and the set lists of each one?. I'm the only one from Spain?. saludos fernando ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 27 Aug 1998 10:31:11 EDT From: ABershaw@aol.com Subject: MrBB-Several NEW additional LRT dates scheduled! Subject: Another good book! Besides the books Alan mentioned that are good ones to check out, I recently found another good book as well. This one is more picture oriented, but does have some good reading material as well. Here's this info on it: Title: Pop Culture Presents...Jewel Author: Mark Bego ISBN# 0.8256.1685.9 1998 64 pages...ALL color! $12.95 Paperback About 8 1/2" X 11" in size, maybe slightly larger. There are some really good pictures of her, all full page photos, and many I hadn't seen before, which is saying alot! I definitely think it's worth the money. I found it at a Barnes and Noble, along with the book about the Women Solo Songwriters. I got both of these about 3 weeks ago, which I found interesting since the Women Solo book has a copyright of September 1998. They had it a month earlier than that...pretty cool. I had a friend in Dallas just tell me that the Coca Cola Starplex is holding a free concert called the Cha-cha or something like in October and they said something about who do you want there and they mentioned Jewel. Does anybody know anything about this? I know Mr. BB would tell us if she has confirmed anyhting, but has she been asked by these people to come to this concert or something?
