Fans do that kind of thing. And that's while were all here in the >first place, because we are fans. I just wanted to say something here... As Alan pointed out, and a lot of people seem to be missing his point, Jewel has said on previous occasions that she'd rather see her fans do good things for each other, and for other people, than give her things. Can you give her something, and do something for her? Certainly, nobody's going to stop you. Will she appreciate it? Probably, maybe even definitely (although I don't want to presume to know her likes and dislikes. :) Alan's point (and correct me if I'm wrong, please... :) was that Jewel might appreciate something a little more "community" oriented. It's not a question of "Would Jewel like this?", it's a question of "Which would Jewel appreciate more?" She's stated before she'd rather see people give stuff to other people... Now, do *I* think it's wrong to make a quilt for her? Not at all. Do I think the effort might be better spent on a different effort? Maybe so. What do I think of the whole thing, really? If you want to show Jewel how inspirational she's been to you, listen to what she's told us in the past she'd like us to do for each other... go out as a group and volunteer at a hospital, collect clothing & blankets for needy people, something like that... take pictures while you're doing it... make a collage, send that to her, if you must send her something to show how inspirational she's been... Basically, what it boils down to for me is this - if a thirsty person asks you for a glass of water, do you give them a box of crackers? Yes, she'll probably appreciate the quilt. But she'll probably appreciate seeing people take her words to heart much more. That's all I have to say about the quilt thing. I'm not against it, but I think the effort *could* be spent more usefully, and in a way that Jewel would appreciate much more (And I think this is what Alan was trying to say, as well... but I could be wrong). Just think about it for a moment before you go any farther with the quilt project.
