This quilt sounds like an exellent idea, I really hope we do it and not just talk about it, and I really would love to see the look on Jewel's face when she sees it. This should end up AWESOME... p.s. If anyone has any small pictures of Jewel, or any other picture. Can you please send them to me? I have a Jewel collage and it's almost finished...I just need a few more pictures. Thanx! And I was too. I was reading one of those '12 CD's For The Price Of One' thingys, and as I looked thru, I saw Jewel's CD PoY. AND IT HAD A PARENTAL ADVISERY SIGN BY IT!!!! I looked @ the key to make sure I was right and here's what it said: "Parental Advisery-Contains explicit lyrics and/or artwork" So I was lookin' where to contact the people who made the obseen jugdement, and here's what the fine print read: 'Dog And Horn are trademarks of General Electric Company, USA The BMG logo is a trademark of BMH Music, 6550 E. 30th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46219-1194 ©1998 BMG Direct' So is it just me or am I the only person here who hasn't heard of BMG? So I was wondering, does anyone here wanna write to this company? If it had a website, I would say go there, but. . . After all, Jewel does not need or deserve a 'Parental Advisery' Just wanted to know if I was the only person angery over this. BTW, this ad is in the September issue of ym, if anybody wants to see it for themselves Carolyn the "perfect" little angel == "I'm sensitive and I'd like to stay that way."~Jewel ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Don't forget to visit my web pages! http://start.at/TeEnZiNe http://welcome.to/mytitanic ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 22 Aug 1998 23:30:54 EDT From: MAXMOUZE@aol.com Subject: Re: Capitalization in ANWA?? I thought Jewel had no religion by everything she's said previously. What is the context of "God"? Is it a name or is it a term, such as "He thinks you're a god". I would look but my hands are dirty and I dont' want to ruin my book. - -- Mark ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 22 Aug 1998 23:39:05 EDT From: MAXMOUZE@aol.com Subject: Re: Jewel's "Parental Advisery" This has been talked about before, about a year or two ago. It was said that because of "Daddy", the album was portrayed as vulgar, etc. I know people whose parents took away the album after hearing the song play. It has a lot of depth to it, but the whole "I'd like to rip out your tongue", etc. lines are objectionable and therefore, I think the company can advertise that if they want. It's better than having parents complain after receiving the album. But there's no sticker on the album itself so it's okay... ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 23 Aug 1998 16:14:54 +1200 From: Kim Lees Subject: Re: Jewel in Twist > In the twist magazine with Jewel, it says that this other singer, Bic > Runga, is alot like Jewel. Has anyone ever heard of her?, Is she any > good? she is AWESOME... and I'm proud to be able to say I'm from the same city as her - Christchurch, New Zealand (I even got to meet her last year)... Her first single came out here in 1995 but she didn't really get popular until her album "Drive" came out here last year... At this year's New Zealand Music Awards she won everything she was nominated for (I think), and she was nominated for practically everything she was eligible to be nominated for!!! She has a similar vocal and songwriting style to Jewel, although I've read in interviews that she doesn't like being compared to Jewel... She's apparently part of the Lilith Fair tour this year which I guess is how a lot of people are hearing about her for the first time... I highly recommend her album "Drive", which came out in the States a few weeks ago, to anyone who likes Jewel (which I guess pretty much means everyone on this list)... Bic Runga is definately a name to look out for in the not-too-distant future!!!
