Hi Jewelfans, just this message from an angel in holland who is a true fan of Jewel ! 1. what do you think is her most beautiful feature?? her way of being herself, not comprimise to anybody but follow her own dreams and ideas eg she just is a beauitful singer/songwriter and her in-and outside is really unique 2. if you could describe Jewel using only one word what would it be??? adorable 3. if Jewel could be a food what would she be ?? healthy vegetables, Jewel will last forever in our minds through her songs and poems, nothing can stop me asking them to play a Jewel song at my own funeral later (just a wish for later!!) Hi, I'm new to the list but if it's not to late I'll answer these questions. Beautiful feature= To express herself in such a deep straight forward fashion. Describe Jewel in one word= Powerful If Jewel was a food= I think she would be something that not many people know of. Something different but not everyone likes it. I can't think of a food off of the top of my head but there you go. Now I would just like to say that I just got on this list today and it's great. I'm from Toronto and I've been a Jewel fan for about2 years I guess. He's the most funny, hilarious person ever on stage. His stories about anything made people laugh all night, he might as well be a stand up. He told stories about how Austin's attendance beat the crowd of the Dallas/Forth Worth area(he said this at least 5 times, he said he just couldn't believe it.), the story about this guy named Allen who was actually in the crowd who dropped out of college to join the Rugburns as his roadie, and the a story about how he made out with Rufus Wainwright, the guy who performed first. He asked the first person to jump on stage, he'll make out with you. two guys jump on. he also gave away stuff to people. I love his David Cassidy story while he was performer the GUY version of YWMFM and let the crowd sings the chorus), (this is the story of how he got the title "One Left Shoe"). The funniest story of the night. I got to meet him and talked to him. He autograph my CD and my YWMFM single(I told him he deserves to put his name on this CD). Now if I can get Jewel and him to sign this same CD, I would love it. and he's fits right in with us Texans. His set list was: 1. I love yah (don't know the name but if someone can help me out please) 2. Hawaiian songs that aren't Hawaiian 3. Tree Hugger 4. The great Mystery *Austin Motel song he just made up right there 5. It's a Beautiful Day 6. ABC Song 7. Single Life 8. Everything About You 9. You Were Meant For Me (my favorite of the night) 10. UPS my heart No Impala, no Silver lining, no I though i saw you last night but this was one hell of a show. Lisa Loeb also came out and perform the instrumental version of YWMFM. Everyone has got to see Steve Poltz, he's is really good and i can see why people like him not just because he is associated with Jewel. I found it on the Spin AOL page (keyword "spin", then click "Spin Mag", then double-click "Short Subjects" in the scroll box, then ya gotta scroll down to find the blurb) It's certainly a unique piece....a review of the design of the book, not the content. Mike :-) a night without armor by Jewel (HarperCollins) Jewel's collection of poetry has her picture on the front, back, and spine. Inside, the poems are set in a font called Fairfield. It's a bookish and professional-looking font. Yet it remains friendly, with well-defined (but never excessive) serifs and excellent readability. It's sort of like the agreeable chardonnay of typefaces. The stem of the lower-case y seems a little frail, but fear not--the j and p are sturdy enough in that regard. The verses themselves tend to start at the top of the page, with the title, and then continue on down. Available on CD: very shiny.
