I think Jewel's strongest song would most likely be Angel Standing By. And that is because she gets the notes down to perfection and the tones are awesome. But i can easily say that about all her songs. ** Scott S.** -Big Sexy Angel "LIFE IS A BIG GAME SO YOU GOTTA PLAY IT WITH A BIG VOICE!" http://homepage.usr.com/b/breezemaker ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 29 Jul 1998 00:23:47 -0400 From: progman Subject: Re: strongest song first thread i've ever replied to. if this thread posts bother you, please do not email me and tell me. i think "I've got the blues more than you do blues" is a really cool song musically (or v-8 cadillac, as musically they are 98% the same) well, i dont know if its that cool, but it was neato to see how much Jewel's guitar playing has improved in that song over the years. when i saw her in toledo she played this cool electric guitar which you don't see much. dont remember what it was though. bye adam progman ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 29 Jul 1998 00:45:01 -0400 From: progman Subject: Re: NJC: what is IRC?? ok, to answer any recent questions about irc and chat rooms and stuff: irc is a division of the internet, just like http:// (the "web") or ftp (file transfer) or even gopher, which you probably havent heard of. you can connect to irc using a variety of clients. for windows 95, the two main clients are pIRCh and mIRC. mIRC is the better of the two in my opinion. you can download the latest version at http://www.mirc.com after that, read through the irc tutorial provided. there are a couple of eda channels on Undernet. #eda and #jewel are the main ones. any questions, feel free to email me. bye adam "progman" progman@bnnorth.net At 04:36 PM 7/28/98 EDT, you wrote: >ok you people are confusing me, what the heck is the irc or the undernet, i >would appreciate it greatly if someone would tell me ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 29 Jul 1998 00:32:16 PDT From: "Danica Willson" Subject: NJC: Going to Vancouver Lilith? Miles" Subject: NJC: the party van excursion to bearsville '98 (long long long) ok being the driver of the oh so punctual bearsville '98 party van, here's my take on the weekend's festivities, which started way too early on friday morning: after getting back at 5:30a.m. from the jones beach, ny lilith fair with pete (boy do i love nyc traffic... more on that later), I caught about an hour catnap before having to get ready to greet becca and pat brown (aka tom harris) who were driving up all the way from north carolina. yes becca does win the "eda taxi" award... hehe i bet pat's glad she didn't charge a fare. ;-Þ anyways, they finally did get here, and were probably the most on-time people of the entire day, considering their mishaps with getting off at the right exits. so I departed around 9ish to go pick up Josh in York and then from there I was supposed to pick up the van at 10a.m. first mistake... the van had 2 blown rear tires and wouldn't be ready until 11. so we picked up the van at 11, only to find that the a/c and the cig lighter didn't work (so i couldn't use my brand spankin new electric cooler courtesy of ma and pa campbell). anyways, we headed to pick up Tom Proven, only to arrive 1-1/2 hours later than when I'd originally told him to expect us. so we picked up proven and headed back to my place to pick up vicki and load our stuff into the van. pat and becca stayed at our place afterwards to get some sleep, since they were gonna pick up kim zercher and meet us up there in bearsville (and yes, we took bets on who would get there first). and believe me, anybody who's met becca and pat knows why I had absolutely no reservations about letting them crash at our place- they're 2 of the coolest ppl I've ever met. :-) so, after calling everyone and letting them know we were about 2 hours behind schedule (already, and we hadn't even left pa yet), we headed for allentown to pick up kate. we got there sometime mid-afternoon, i can't remember the exact time. so we tossed kate and her stuff into the van, chatted briefly with her mom, and headed for the home of the best drivers in the country... aka new jersey... to pick up eric and kelly. along the way we stopped to pick up some "interesting" pics of kate and steve poltz from the hanover, pa show. we also called to let eric steve and john know that we'd be even later than we thought (hmmm now there's a surprise). once we reached nj, we encountered our first traffic snafu of the day... the garden state parkway at rush hour. woohoo!! thank god we only had to go through one tollbooth. so we got to eric's, where kelly was also waiting thanks to mr. crashboy, which saved us some time (maybe 15 minutes? hell any time we saved was fine with us). so we took a much needed potty break, then headed for good ol' nyc to pick up steve, john, and abel. picking up steve was the easy part... no traffic. it was great seeing him again, after going without for months while he was at guitar school in arizona. so after some way overdue hugs (and more phone calls), we were off for queens to pick up our last passengers, john and abel. it was now about 7 p.m. (our estimated arrival time for bearsville). so anyway, we pick up john and abel, and made a "brief" stop for dinner at mcd's. mmmm fries. ;-Þ now's where the fun begins. to get to bearsville from queens, the easiest (is there such a thing in ny?) way was to head for the triboro bridge. well, it seemed like everyone and their brother had the same idea as us, because we sat and got a nice view of yankee stadium for what seemed like hours. so we finally got to bearsville at midnight, only 5 hours late and were immediately welcomed by everyone, including pat, becca, and kim, who did beat us there. the rest of the weekend has already been covered in other posts, so i'm not gonna take up space going over what's already been told, except to say that it was one awesome weekend. it was great to see old friends, and make some new ones. can't wait 'til bearsville '99!! and believe me, next year we're not gonna miss out on diner diner diner!! tommers :-) - -- Thomas N. Sometimes I think she's God in disguise. ANyways, since I am new, would you guys mind telling me how things work on the list?
