I think we should meet at the Westroads mall on the lower level at Sam Goody's at 5pm. Its a music store if you didn't know. I'm not sure who all is going but I will be there at 5. If you are going to the concert and can't make it to Westroads we'll try to all meet up at the concert. If you have any questions about tickets or anything else please feel free to email me. Forget all about her lyrics and pretend all her songs are instrumental.....then think of which one you think is the most powerful or well-constructed. Since I haven't heard much of her rare songs, my opinion is a bit limited, but I think that "Near You Always" and "Foolish Games" are two definite candidates. Whenever I listen to FG, one of the things that always comes to mind is that if you took the vocals out and imagined it as an instrumental, it would have to have its title changed to "The Absolute Most Relaxing Song Ever Written". The confusion may be that Jewel co-wrote the song, and sings back-up on it. But it is indeed STEVE's release NOT Jewel's, just as YWMFM was Jewel's release, even though Steve wrote (or helped write) it. alana. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 28 Jul 1998 22:19:57 +0000 From: "Angerica" Subject: Posters If anybody is interested in posters of Jewel, then there is a UK company that definitely *had* some of Jewel (YWMFM inc) and quite possibly will have some left. I have a lot of trouble seperating the music from the lyrical imagery... I mean, in a song like Amen, is it just the haunting (damn this insufficient, hackneyed area of our language) music that gives me shivers and makes me cry, or do I rely upon the images presented? ... I ... don't ... know ... but I must say that Amen is my favorite sound from Jewel. I like everything best about it, so that includes the music I suppose. ^_^ | Jesse Dangerously http://www.chebucto.ns.ca/~ad309 | subterranean seraph 16 Trust Everyone | ad309@chebucto.ns.ca Ekam Sat, Viprah Bahudha Vadanti | ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 28 Jul 1998 22:44:28 EDT From: VCavallo@aol.com Subject: The Good, the Bad, and the Bearsville... I was starting to worry, because no one was posting about it, and no one was caring about it, but then I saw Dr. RomeAntic post, and blushed, and felt honored and had to write a post about Bearsville 98 now... I would have done it sooner but I went to Nashvegas for the week to check out my college and their pudding situation... which was none, but we can fix THAT. ANYWAY... My trip started out Friday afternoon as me, Jae, and Dusty drive up to Bearsville, I was kind of disappointed because I didn't see any nuns in stationwagons, like I did last year. After 2 hours of nunless travel we arrive around 3pm, we greet Tammy, Rob, Rachel, Tom O., David, and Ali, Bill, and Laura, who were in the car behind us. Rachel and Tammy woefully tell us of the massive mosquito attacks, and I am glad that I was wearing jeans, and my camo jacket, feeling pretty protected, little did I know those buggers can go right through jean! Gar. - - 4:07pm, my first fall, and I go backwards off the picnic table defending myself from the HUGE bug... Friday night was pretty boring until the Party Van FINALLY came at like... 2am, I don't know... because after running up the road after every car that came by, we just didn't care anymore. I cooked hot dogs for everyone... I was Hot Dog girl :D Steve Poltz would have been SO proud. I finally got to sleep on the picnic table for like an hour!!!! :D !!! and then at like 6 am I went into my tent... and woke up with Sarah McLachlan in my tent.... well, not really HER, but Jae and Dusty put a poster of her in the tent. So yay me! Hm... This is beginning to get too long... so lets just go over some main points. Saturday Morning: - - Went to town. - - Came back late, missed beginning of laser wars... - - Watched Kelly fall into the river near the Bearsville Theatre Notes on laser tag: - - I fell, a lot. As yall probably would have guessed. - - I am NOT a Treehugger, ok? Don't listen to Chris or Rob... because... well... EVERYONE WAS A FLIPPIN' TREEHUGGER! Either that or you shot out of your butt. (explaination: Treehugger - using a tree to cover your sensor. Shooting out of your butt- walking backwards with your butt in the air while shooting) - - Let it be known that I am the rootinest, tootinest, fastest shooter in the North, South, East, aaaaaaannnnnnddddd West. - - Dennis won "The Erica Award: You killed Kenny! You Bearsville Bastards!" for multiple suicides... but I have possession of the award... and no his team did NOT win, like he promised. - - I didn't die once, because I rick ass. :D Rest of Saturday: - - Charactures of me, Laura, and Ali... by Bill - - Mmmmm Pudding... which I now I have enough to live through college.. thanks yall :D - - we watched TV... we were REALLY roughing it... - - NO 4th video ... Let Dennis explain THAT one. - - EDA madlibs... Everyday Sheep?! - - Jae's weird resemblance to... Jesus?! - - I was last to sleep! :D Sunday: - - Sword fighting at Diner Diner Diner :D - - Last year crappy pudding... THIS year crappy french fries... - - Walked around the town once again - - Saw a crazy guy who looked... oh my god, it WAS Dennis Harris hippie twin! Overall it was a good time had by all... I'd like to thank everyone who made this weekend possible and everyone who was there. I'm sure a lot more happened, and if anyone wants to fill in my blanks, please do, my mind is a bit rusty after a week. Todays pudding tip: Be sure not to leave pudding in the fridge too long or it will grow legs and walk out. Erica - the one, and only... Lilithxxx helped me with this, I sent her all the singles, and she spread them among the US fans. We both did this on a non-profit basis, furthermore all singles were bought from my personal money and sent on my risk. It all went very well, except for some people from the list who really let me down - they did not pay for the singles they had ordered. Even writing them again and asking them to pay did not help. Because we have left some singles now, and I'd like to get my money at some time in the near future, I can offer anybody else this second chance to get this German only single. S. The overall cost for one single is US$ 10, including all postage etc. Neither me nor Lilithxxx will make any money out of this. If you'd like to get one, write me a mail and I'll give you the address to send the money to. You will get your single immediately after the money has arrived. The singles are already in the US, so this should be really fast. For everyone who's really not interested in this, sorry, I didn't mean to bother you, but I hope you can understand this is a problem for me. Thanks. Mathias.
