So do they like get backstage - ->passes, or do they just have those connections? :) Thats about it. Thanx! - -> Well most pics of EDAs and Jewel come from Jewelstock I'd wager. That or, they're from other times a while ago.. a lot of it is being in the right place at the right time I guess... but no, EDAs don't get backstage passes or anything, at least not for the singular reason they're EDAs, if you follow me. While I was off the list, I've had some rather interesting experiences, the main one being driving to Alaska (didn't go to Homer, though). A bit of a suggestion before any of you attempt to make a similar trip: bring lots of mosquito repellent, and don't expect a wonderful untouched wilderness (I don't think I've seen so many tourists in my life - -- and I live in Orlando!). Anyways, I found the Tiny Lights Tour/Poetry book (from '96, I believe) in my drawer while I was cleaning my room today, and I'd like to put it up for sale along with various Jewel pictures that I have acquired (this isn't against list rules or anything, right? I apologize if it is, as I've been gone a while). I'll sell them all for $10 (7 for the stuff, 3 for the shipping) to the first one in the US to email me. thanks W. I was watching VH-1 and they had a "VH-1 News" segment inbetween videos and they showed the filming of Jewel reciting her poems. She was placed in front of a white background and she is wearing a brown top. They showed a clip and it was really cool because when she would say certain words they would fade onto screen. The poem reading was very beautiful. It really envokes the essence of the words. Unlike the talk shows she's been on which she looks down at the book in between stanzas. It looked like she memorized it and looks directly to the camera. VH-1 said they will be showing one poem reading a night at 12am. So I guess VH-1 and MTV will be broadcasting it. The news clip also interviewed her on the set of the poem reading and showed the filming of it. I didnt tape it. I decided to just watch it and enjoy it rather than scrambble for a tape .(Im sure many can relate) Brent ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 27 Jul 1998 20:14:56 EDT From: Dumbass751@aol.com Subject: Re: Jewel in MAD magazine In a message dated 98-07-27 18:53:37 EDT, ad309@chebucto.ns.ca writes: << ... actually I think it was pretty ignorant of them... not just as a Jewel fan, but as someone who's heard more than just Foolish Games (which, considering the above, I'd be surprised to find was true of the writer of that particular piece of satire).
