Like jesse said its "An 'Every Day Angel Identification Card'. Like a personal ID you can show to let other people see you are a genuine EDA :-)" not that you need one to show people that you are,.. but some of us just thought it would be fun. Second,... I (bea) am really really trying to get this project to work. yes,.. i am the one who is attempting to be in charge of this project. I already fixed up a couple of things. I know there definitely will be one,.. some of us are just working on what we want it to look like for now. I'm working on it.. i promise! Last,... alot of people seem to think this has something to do with the fanclub. I am not organizing a fanclub. I never intended to,.. and i don't even really like the idea! I just thought having ID's would be cute. yknow,.. maybe to put in your wallet, or your handy organizer with all your credit cards? i dunno. but just to keep the record straight, the EDA ID's, the fanclub, the newsletter, and whatever the heck is goin on are all different things. If you have any questions about the EDA ID's,.. i'll be happy to try to answer them for you cuz i am definitely the person to go to bout that,.. but bout anything else,.. i really wouldn't know. I belong to the Lynyrd Skynyrd fan club. It cost $23 a year and you get a nice t-shirt (which basically covers the cost), a membership card and quarterly newsletters. Best of all, when they tour (which is pretty much every summer), they hold a block of tickets for members only (first come, first served) in the first several rows of the venues, so you always have a great seat up close. First of all, I am totally for both the idea of a Jewel newsletter and the ID cards. A mailed newsletter would be great as far as informing people about tour dates, EDA gatherings, and just any Jewel gossip. I also think the ID cards would be great as a way to really distinguish the EDAs. However, a fan club is not something I'm really for. When I think of "fan club" only one word pops into mind - merchandise: stickers, photos, posters, and that's something I don't think we need a fan club for. Also, I think fan clubs are usually started more by the management of a celebrity in an attempt to build popularity and money. As for advertising to others about a Jewel newsletter or fanclub, i think there's really only one way to do it - It would have to be through her music or something else she released. Something like an insert in a CD, tape, or even her poetry book, saying something like "If you'd like to become a recipient of the Jewel Newsletter please write to....." I figured that's how most "fan clubs" got started anyway.
