Here's my 2 cents. If you got one chance to ask Jewel a question, you would take that chance to ask something worth while right? Now it sounds to me that you guys want to ask a question like What's your favorite movie or what do you like to do for fun. Now we all know what Jewel does for fun. Atleast the majority of us do! I've read acouple of the questions and i think they are good. Now if i had a day to spend with her i might take the chance to ask her some more down to earth questions, but i don't. Okay, no you can all write back and blah blah blah... I totally disagree with the person who wrote in about what to ask Jewel. Let people ask what they want to ask. The judges will select the "best" ones, and they'll be answered. If you don't like them, you don't have to read them!!! NOTE FROM THE LIST MODERATOR: Of course, this is only partially correct. The "judges"/panel is going to submit 40 questions to the Jewel lists, and the whole list will get to vote for their favorites, so that the list "as a group" can choose which 20 get sent on to Jewel - Mike :-) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 24 Jun 1998 12:52:47 +0300 (IDT) From: Michael Regev Subject: Re: Stupid Jewel Questions umm... I care what Jewel thinks about politics, and society, and even the music industry. Okay, maybe I spend most of myy time here these days lurking, but I've been here for over a year and a half, watching from a distance as Jewel developed from a small phenomenon into an all-american pop star. A lot has changed. If I want to know about her sons, her family, etc, I have no trouble finding out from the FAQ, or from other EDAs. If I want to know how Jewel's view on life has changed, what she plans to do in the long run, etc, now is my chance. It's easy to sit wherever you are, having gone to god-knows how many shows, having met numerous EDAs, and say "I don't want to about WHO Jewel is, I'm here to find out about WHAT Jewel is. Your questions are stupid." It's another thing to be sitting on the other side of the planet (as I am), having never had the chance to go to a Jewel concert, and stick to a small group of people glued together by fanhood of ideals expressed by a singer. So cubbie, you want to be a Jewel fan - no one is stopping you. You want to be an EveryDay Angel - you have to think like one. Blackwell - sorry, I can't give you an Amen. Maybe a WWSYS. And please, as always, the list is short on bandwidth - no need to quote the entire post you're responding to. And last but certainly not least - Jeff, I can but cheer your words. One thing, though. You of all people should know about the need for conserving bandwidth. - ------------------------------------------------ I deny any responsibility for physical or mental damages caused by reading my opinions. - ------------------------------------------------ 42, Tuff - TIE On Wed, 24 Jun 1998, jewel-digest wrote: > From: cubbie@annex.com > who cares about What Jewel thinks about Politics, or Society, or even > the music industry. > From: 90 blackwell > > Can I get an "AMEN"! > From: owner-jewel@smoe.org > umm...i think what Jewel has to say about politics, society, and religion are > the most intresting questions. they are the most thought-filled ones...and > are (unlike what you said) unlike the one's that we can find anwsers to in > magazines. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 24 Jun 1998 08:44:47 -0600 (MDT) From: Charlie Watkins Subject: NJC: another KC Star article on Ride With The Devil This focuses on Tom Wilkinson who played the unemployed factory manager in 'The Full Monty'. Please, if you've yet to join in on the current "EDAs Interview Jewel" project currently in progress, send in your question! The deadline is tonight at 6:00pm ET, so send your ONE question to: Ducksoup@spectra.net It must go to THAT address to be considered by the panel. Also, please make the SUBJECT of the email 20Q Many are writing me asking about this summers Living Room Tour news. Yes, things are hapnin' & many gigs will take place. :-) I can't speak for Steve Poltz, because they are co-ordinating their own thing, so more news on that will be forthcoming from them soon, I'm sure. However...... A lot of current planning is being co-ordinated right now for another extensive summer Living Room Tour through the Northeast USA & Canada. As the hundreds who attended any of last years LRT gigs can tell you, it was a wonderful time for all involved. Cindy Lee Berryhill & Elizabeth Hummel really gave special performances that'll never be forgotten. This year, its gonna be another double bill and feature two more incredible woman who will definately mesmerize you live, if youre not hip to them already! The gigs will take place beginning in Chicago (I think), travel East and through Canada & wind up in New England. Dates & locations are still being worked out but it'll take place during August & September. OK, I'll stop toying with you & get to what you really want to know..... I'm extremely happy that this summers LRT will feature both Joy Eden Harrison & Lisa Sanders. I guarantee a great time for all who attend these gigs. Keep an eye out for periodic updates from Duff (TJTalken@aol.com). She's gonna be your one stop LRT INFO Headquarters this summer & will post info periodically, so watch for those & join in if you can. Also, Andres Condon just dropped me a line & he's back in San Diego & will be performing Saturday. If youre in this area & are curious why Jewel & Lenedra like Andres so much, here's another opportunity. I'll simply cut & paste from Andres' message: <> And finally, RUN to the nearest CD store & buy Patty Griffin's new album "Flaming Red" if you haven't already! It's really unbelievable on 1st listen & then just gets better & better & better.... And her version of "Cain" on the Lilith Fair CDs-- Whoa! I think this cut literally blows away every other track & leaves them smoldering in her ashes! :-) MrBB ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 24 Jun 1998 15:46:23 EDT From: SWTHRT9758@aol.com Subject: NJC:hi angels I am really sorry to ask..but does anyone have any angel food that they can copy for me? Tgus us under where it says "Muse to Muse" MUSE TO MUSE Every song writer is in their own songs, even if it from an observational stand point, or you could...... you couldn't translate them. You would be getting these song to translate, or you know, they would go to Jewel or something, and I'd get her songs, but obviously I don't, they come to her....um... ina way, that only she can interpret, and that's whats exciting I think about seeing yourself as a translator, instead of being the only creator, because obviously your not, and secondly you insult the muse when you do that. Andres did perform once with Jewel. It was during last years Papillon Tour at Jones Beach Amphitheater in Wantaugh, NY on 8/31/97. Jewel brought Andres out to play a South American stringed instrument called a "charango" on a beautiful duet version of "Deep Water". Jewel's mom/manager Lenedra has also performed with Andres as lead vocalist in his large ensemble Copihue. MrBB PS. For those interested in Andres current CD, right now the only way to get it is to follow these instructions: Mail check or money order for Andres Condon's "Nomad" CD to: Andres Condon P.O.Box 232501 Encinitas, CA 92023-2501 The price of the C.D. is $14.00 & this includes shipping. The address is 3719 Mission Blvd (San Diego) He will be playing from 8.00PM to 11.00PM.
