I got "Poster Blue", and it is a good poster (although I don't think it is the best picture of Jewel that I have ever seen. I mean, it is good quality but I think she looks different.) On the other hand, in this picture she is wearing the same outfut that I saw her wearing at one of the Lilith Fair concerts as shown on VH-1 this weekend! And the poster arrived in less than two weeks. If you are credit card shy on the net, just print out the order form and mail a check--that is what I did. FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. MY PLANE LEAVES ON 16 APRIL 1998. if you aren't interested do not read further. Dear EveryDay Angels, Last year I was able to tape a Jewel special aired on MTV Asia prior to her Asian tour. Jewel Live & Intimate was a broadcast from Canada to Asia. When I first offered it, over 20 people responded. Now that it is ready, I have a few extra copies. Jewel yodels, sings, answers questions (one of the first times she mentions her movie with Ang Lee). I have already reserved a copy for Mr. BB. To bring costs down, maybe somebody in the US can make 3rd generation copies. A big problem for me was figuring out how to get the tapes out securely and cheaply. I am leaving for a quick vacation to Hong Kong. HK has a more reliable postal service so I will send the tapes from there. The tape cost the equivalent of about US $2.70, the taping cost about another US$ 3.50. Don't know the shipping costs yet because I am not yet in HK. But it will surely be cheaper than anything I could arrange from the Philippines. I don't know how I will get reimbursed for this yet. The important thing is to make sure that the tapes get to you securely and quickly. In a few months I might be able to open a dollar account in a local bank so can do money transfers, or send me a check through my sisters or something. Any ideas? First of all, I was wondering about a few dates of some of Jewel's concerts. 1. Hard Rock Live 2. Jeweltide Carols 3. Puss Puss Cafe 4. MTV Unplugged 5. Wizard of Oz Also, I was wondering if there were any EDAs out there who are fluent in Spanish. I could really use your help in a project I am doing. Last but not least, does anyone have the JA Ford Theater show from May 4, 1996? If you do, I would love to trade for it. So, if you know any one of those dates, are fluent en espanol, or have the JA Ford show, could you PLEASE email me (privately of coarse)? I would really appreciate it! Thank you so much! - -Kate the right winged angel ------------------------------ Date: 13 Apr 98 19:24:58 +0100 From: "Chris Groves" Subject: Jewel In MOJO (May 98) There is a small piece of Jewel "news", along with a small picture in the latest issue of the UK music magazine MOJO. Missouri is good. To Live On has a new name now. I am unknowing of the name at this time. I forgot. Also Jewel did a performance at the Liquid Lounge in Downtown KC, Saturday night and I was busy trying to win Sarah McLachlan tickets. Unfortunate me. I visited Pattonsburg and construction is still underway and no sign of Jewel anywhere. Probably because she was downtown. Oh well. Miss actually checking my mail everyday!! In an interview I read, Trent said something about how the music is going in a new sort of direction, and alot of the old fans wouldn't like it, he also said something about how he admires alot of the female artists in music today, could it be? Jewel + Trent = Heaven. Oh, god how I would love to hear two of my favorite things in the world together in one song. I'm new to the list but I've been listening to Jewel for a couple of years now. I'll spare you the boring details and get to the news. I saw Jewel this weekend in Kansas City. As you all know she is ther filming her movie. She played at a small club called the Liquid Lounge. It was for the "Make a Wish Foundation" which is an organization that helps grant the wish of sick children in the KC area. In this case it was a 15 year old girl whose only wish was to see Jewel. Needless to say she made a lot of peoples dreams come true. The first thing she did when she got on stage was ask for some fingernail clippers. She trimmed her nails and called some guy "sick" when he asked for the clippings. :) She was sarcastic all evening. The played a bunch of stuff on the upcoming album including "Silver Lining" with her brother Atz on harmonica. This was her first show since arriving in KC but hopefully it won't be her last. I'll keep ya posted. RJ ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 13 Apr 1998 21:09:17 EDT From: Tlcathome Subject: Bearsville '98 Hi all!! I know it may seem early, but we all know that with so many people, it's best to start on these things early. For those of you that have been here a while (at least 9 months), you probably remember that last July we had a camping gathering in Bearsville on the anniversary of JewelStock. At first it was going to be called a JS reunion, but in order not to make people think you had to have been at JS to attend, and also to keep confusion about a second JS to a minimum, we decided to simply call it Bearsville '97. Well folks, start thinking Bearsville '98!!!! (Bearsville is by Woodstock, NY for those of you wondering where it is :-) To help us plan, I'd like for those of you who think you will want to (and are able to) attend to e-mail BRSVL98@aol.com letting us know that you're interested. The camping is tentatively planned to be at Steve's campgrounds again and will, of course, be the weekend of July 18 :-) Lovies!!!!
