I just wanted to say... (and, I know I shouldn't make non-Jewel announcements) I'm going to be in THE New York Times Sunday issue, coming out on May 17th, in the insert called "The New York Times Magazine" an a special issue on "13 year-olds Across America." This is the biggest thing that has ever happened to me, and I wanted to share it with all you caring, loving EDAs... I am so happy!!! I can't remember the author, but we studied early American writers that year (Mark Twain, Thoreau, Emerson...) The book was a collection of poems about all these people who lived in Spoon River. Some of them were quite interesting. And the idea of someone narrating from their grave (as Jewel did?) does sound familiar! For anyone who was interested... I can't remember who made me my copy of the JAFord show, but she put that song on the end of Side B. It's not the greatest quality, but I really like the song. Anyone (MrBB? Mike?) know why Jewel hardly ever sings this song? I've never heard or seen it mentioned before. - -Scott e-mail: brougdms@wcta.net IRC: JWagner on EFnet Angel Needs A Ride: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/7887/angel.html The Midnight Club: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/7887/midnightclub.html "I am dangerously lost and confused...and I walk and I walk and I run myself through" - Brenda Weiler, RING AROUND YOUR WAIST ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 12 Apr 1998 18:57:50 -0500 From: Scott Broughton Subject: JC: Henry Park's j-cards I don't have the address of Henry's page, but I suggest anyone who wants cool j-cards to go there. I've made them before, but never on this computer. What I need help with is two things. 1. an idea for the 3-D image...I know I can't do Jewel's face, but ideas like angels, etc are what I'm looking for. Something simple. If you can supply an image to use, just send it to me or tell me where to DL it. 2. a small image of repeating wallpaper (about 1-2" square), preferably taller and thinner, but I'll take anything...Jewel-related, of course. Send them to me or tell me where to DL them. If this works and it's not too hard, I might make more. Any help is greatly appreciated! - -Scott e-mail: brougdms@wcta.net IRC: JWagner on EFnet Angel Needs A Ride: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/7887/angel.html The Midnight Club: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/7887/midnightclub.html "I am dangerously lost and confused...and I walk and I walk and I run myself through" - Brenda Weiler, RING AROUND YOUR WAIST ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 12 Apr 1998 18:02:10 PDT From: "Richard Enlow" Subject: My Cool Jewel Find I haven't posted in a long time but I had to tell everyone the coolest thing I found over the weekend! Hey all you beautiful angels.. :) I've noticed alot of Angel food requests and offers on here lately, and i've taken a few people up on their offers, but just for a tape or two, because most of the offers are coming from the states. Now i'm looking for a very generous CANADIAN!!! (in Ontario would be great, but it will cost about the same any where else in Canada as well).. So if you want to be a good canadian, let me know by mailing me.. i'm looking for almost any angel food (i only have a two at the moment, and two more coming my way..) I have been in contact with a person currently attending ICA, and she does know of one, and the whereabouts of it. She has informed me that she will take pictures of it as soon as possible, and see if she can locate any other statues either made by Jewel herself, or those that Jewel posed for. As soon as I receive these pictures, I will scan them and make them available for you all (I will post for you to request an e-mail copy, or have it put on a website). Anyhow...I haven't heard anything from this acquaintance in a few days, so hopefully she's gotten the pictures done and out to me. I'll keep you all informed. joe-schmo {\o/} /~\ Joe Field, 203 N. I hope that you haven't already traded all yet. I would especially like Innerchange Days , and Puss Puss Cafe. I am not sure what all is on the other recordings but since my Jewel collection is VERY limited. (POY) I will be happy with just about anything else. But I would really like to have one that has "Jessica" on it. Let me know. Thanks, Jenny ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V3 #215 ***************************
