The first time I heard Jewel was on the radio station and I just knew that I had to have her CD. I think that she is a great singer and I would like to think her for what she did to help me. For some reason she helped me find my own talent "Singing." I was lesting to one of her songs and I thought that I would try to write a song. So I did, and now I wright songs and sing. I don't have a CD hell I don't even have a band yet, But I'm worken on it. If you want one of my songs email me at zero_cool00@yahoo.com I would be more than happy to let you read one. I have three right now. *N*E*Way I just wanted to say "Thanks Jewel You helped me more that You will ever know." == SHAWN ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 7 Feb 1998 21:14:51 -0800 (PST) From: Reed Thacker Subject: Hello Everybody! A great tape of Jewel for ya! Hello everyone, this is the first time I've posted anything because I forgot to mention to you all about the tape of Jewel I have. I'm from Canada and a couple of months ago CBC aired a show "Lilith Fair: Sarah McLachlan & Friends". It was a show about the tour but based mostly around Sarah because she is Canadian, but in the concert also was Jewel, Shawn Colvin, Sheryl Crow, Meredith Brooks, and the Indigo Girls (possibly more, I'm not sure). I taped this because I couldn't be there that night and I wanted to offer it to anyone who may want a recording of it. Jewel sings only one song, Near You Always, but at the end of the show all the artists collaborate together to sing one of the Indigo Girls' songs and Jewel bursts into a yodeling solo near the end of it. It's a great show which they've put on, especially if you are a McLachlan fan. Some of you may already have the tape or have talked about it, but I wanted to offer it to those who maybe missed it the first time. I would gladly tape it for you and mail it if the shipping charges were covered or in exchange for any of Jewel's other music (I've only heard the music from her album... poor poor deprived me). If you're interested, E-mail me and we'll go from there. Also anyone with ICQ chat E-mail me also and we'll try and hook up a time to chat. (i can't play piano and sing either). to this day i can only play 3 songs on the guitar- "least complicated" and "power of two" by indigo girls and "spin the bottle" by juliana hatfield... and i can't even play them well! oh, well. maybe one day i'll actually get lessons or something. when i have tome and am not busy failing school and worrying about college! anyway i have to thamk this list for introducing me to tara maclean, i bought the "if you see me" EP after hearing freat things about her on this list and i loved it! i'm buying "silence" as soon as i get a chance! well i've rambled wnough for today... ~ (\o/) jess* /_\ }~the shadowboxer angel~{ (combining elements of fiona and jewel) shadowboxer@unforgettable.com AdagioBrz@aol.com "taken out of context i must seem so strange..." ~ani difranco* <3 * <3 * <3 * <3 * <3 ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 8 Feb 1998 03:07:28 EST From: Cressyda@aol.com Subject: NJC: Patty Griffin in Boston A kindly EDA from Harvard I believe posted to the list a while ago about Patty Griffin and another artist (something Ellis...?) being in concert in Boston February 21, and about the EDA gathering that would occur at Uno's before the concert. If anyone could email me privately with the information about buying tickets, and the exact time of the gathering, I'd be very greatful. thanks a lot. Due to natural disasters (El Nino) we were without electricity for awhile and a lot of streets are closed off due to flooding. My poor university (Univeristy of California, Santa Barbara in case you were curious) had to declare a federal state of emergency and closed down on Friday. They told us not to go outside if we didn't have to but since I am a dedicated EDA (hehehe) I SWAM (almost) to the postoffice just to find out that all the roads there were closed. I first saw Jewel on the Jay Leno show christmas 1995, I wasn't paying attention to the show when I suddenly heard this beautiful voice. So thats my answer, I first noticed her voice and fell in love with it. She went from sweet soft whispering to powerful breathtaking singing with such an ease that I was amazed. Of course I imediatelly noticed her incredible beauty as well and that the lyrics and her performance were so genuine and emotional. She really has a gift to touch people. I would also like to get in touch with some European EDA:s since I'm starving for angelfood. Would be great to hear from some European fans, we exist too you know , although we are totaly outnumbered by the American ones :-) Robert , the viking angel ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 8 Feb 1998 21:58:19 -0500 From: "Ron Williamson" Subject: Jewel's Van Does anyone know what Jewel has done with her van?
