There is an awful lot of people posting to the Jewel list with just the subject title of "Hi" or "Hello". Try to come up with something that tells a bit more of your subject matter like "Hello and Jewel Concert" or something. I'm alot more likely to read a post that has a more interesting subject matter than to wade through post after post after post that simply say "Hello!!". Yes she performed Foolish Game but I don't think it's overplayed or redundant. When I heard the first few notes of FG I thought "oh no another Foolish Game." But then I just listened to the beautiful singing and the wonderful lyrics and I fell in love with the song all over again. Just because she sang it countless times does not mean the song lost its beauty and grace. Jewel looks simply marvelous, gorgeous, sexy, alluring, enchanting. She had a simple straight hair and a simple makeup IMHO. She is amazing. :) Rosie shows off her 1998 Calendar and Jewel said it can be ordered off her website except she doesn't know its address so can anybody tell us where to order it? (hint Mr.BB) ****** From the list manager - the website is: http://www.jeweljk.com ***** Can't wait for the film! ;) Jewel better win the Grammy or those voting members gotta be sorry when I stage a picketing line outside its HQ. >:) Pieces of You reaches EIGHT platium! I was wondering if anyone knew what were going to happen to the tracks that don't make the album. Will these be bonus tracks on singles, it would be interesting to hear YWMFM with Flea on bass for example. Cheers, Ant - the 'bonus track boy' Angel. I believe Jewel kicked butt (edited for younger viewers). i have heard foolish games just as much as anyone and for Jewel to put emotion in it at all was a relief . i like it, it's good to see her tan, healthy, and joking about being rich white girl. especially nice to here her give a shot out to Bibi. that's it..i've indulged enough. (side thought) didn't know rosie was that tall. duff ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 3 Feb 1998 00:51:57 +0100 From: "Robert Lutczyk" Subject: newbie that supports Jewel all the way Hallo everybody! I'm totally knew to this list and just wanted to share some of my opinions with you people. My "Jewel-experience" is very small, I have never met her, I have never seen her live but still she has touched me to the very depths of my soul with her music. The first time I saw her was december 26th on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, I was channel-switching searching for anything good to watch and suddenly I heard a beautiful voice, I was hooked. Bought the album when it was released in Sweden, where I live and it became one of the most played records at my house. Saddly after that I kind of lost track of Jewel, easy since in Sweden there really wasn't any info at all on her. I have maneged to miss all of her live-performances over here simply because I didn't know she was coming. Anyway, I heard of her again last year when she broke through worldwide, her album was re-released here with a new cover and suddenly everybody knew who she was. I couldn't help feeling that she had been totaly commercialised, I missed the Jewel from 95. Music-buisness is tough and destructive, either you go with the commercial flow or ju simply don't sell. I understand perfectly that she has lost sight of her music when forced to deal with all that stuff. She deserves a break, to get it all in perspective again. To be able to feel the passion for creating music again. I respect her decissions and support her all the way. Good luck Jewel ! A small question to finish of : how can one get hold of some tapes from live-shows? I would love to have something more than just POY. Robert, The Viking Angel PS If anybody is interested I will introduce myself in the mail, you probably all fell asleep just reading this :-) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 2 Feb 1998 18:40:10 EST From: ERGambit@aol.com Subject: Jewel and The Rosie O'Donnell and Great Quotes Hey EDAs, I saw Jewel on Rosie, of course, and as always she was great. I loved that she tries to change Foolish Games to make it sound different but still the same. I am not sure which word it was, but i think she extended the word "heart" for about 10 seconds. Anywaz, when Rosie asked Jewel where can fans get a copy of the calender and Jewel didn't know, I went to AOL KW: Rosie and then to Join Rosie In Talking About Today's Show! , then Show Comments!(Mon 2/2), then Jewel. I went to say where the website is and I found two other comments on Jewel's teeth, then a third saying their comments were funny and s/he agreed with them. I didn't like it, and I didn't even notice. Just to let you Angels know. I would also like to contribute this list quotes to my fellow Angels, and if you have any favorites I would like to add it to my list. I have collected these quotes over the past couple of weeks from the Jewel Digest. Jewel Quotes "And I'm sorry I didn't always have a match That could start a fire big enough for your heart to catch." Inside my heart there's an empty room. It's waiting for lightning; it's waiting for you. =Jewel "Absence of Fear"=- in your arms you have complete power over me- "I am a worm." -Jewel "In the end only kindness matters" ~Jewel Kilcher LIVE YOUR DREAM OR DIE - JEWEL KILCHER "I'd rather see the world from another angle..."--Jewel I'm from Alaska But I hate the cold. - ---Jewel Kilcher The savages are upon me and I feel my flesh Burn beneath the teeth of their indifference -Criticism Jewel Kilcher Our flesh becomes wasted on survival, instead of creating cures ... and poems. "There have always been wars and pollution and poverty, but we're at the most unique time in the history of humanity to do something about it. We're worrying less about survival, and more and more about what is our spirit. Every kid is asking me about that right now." Comment on Jewel: Jewel is cute, but up close, she is a luminous beauty: sloping cheekbones, clear green eyes, glowing skin, crooked teeth, crooked nose. "Maybe I should have loved you better, maybe you should have loved me more. Maybe our hearts were just next in line. Maybe everything breaks sometime." "I'm sorry all my love letters didn't rhyme." "What do I do? You're a thousand miles away. And I'm lying next to you." "I'm sorry if my heart breaking ruined your day." "sometimes it be that way." - provided by Rebecca, Beck82@aol.com "I'll never trust my pink fleshy heart...to a carnivore" - Jewel "The blueprints were so sad, so we made them yellow. "I just wanted to say my songs are honest and come straight from my heart. I'm happy with my work because of that. I always believed if you sing from the heart, people will be moved in theirs. I hope I have reached people with my music," ~ Jewel Kilcher I'm sorry is a stupid thing to say. Especially considering it's not like I planned it this way. And I'm sorry is all that there is left of me, I'm so sorry this love left me hollow and made you empty. "I am what I always wanted to grow up and be Things are becoming more of a dream with each waking day" "Your fears are undefeatable. Not by their nature, but by your approach." "...Maybe it's my battery, maybe it's my starter, Maybe my heart's too weak..." ~Jewel~ "But maybe if we are surrounded in beauty, someday we will become what we see" (I'm Sensitive) Stop worrying about it, yes the cat's already been fed. "Well I feel like abandoning my guitar and my books, and I'm afraid that I know why..." ~ JK "What we call human nature in actuality is human habit" Somewhere between right and wrong is reality. I'm sensitive and I'd like to stay that way. Hope you Angels like it..... Moonlight Knight --- The Signing Angel --- ERGambit@aol.com P.S. Sorry for taking up so much space, but its worth it. ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V3 #80 **************************
