According to the Dave Letterman/CBS website a repeat airing of the 6/2/97 show with Jewel, Elle MacPherson and Vince Vaughn will be on this Monday the 19th. All I remember from this show is she sang an emotional Foolish Games with a small band/orchestra (I kinda remember a cello?) and she seemed tired as she had just gotten back from her May '97 European tour the very day before. If recording, set your VCRs to record extra time, as Letterman at times runs a few minutes late and Jewel is always the last guest....on right at the end of the show. (I can't remember what happened this time for sure, but she has always been on at/near the end of the show in past appearances....it's usually an ongoing list-joke that to tape Jewel on Letterman, all you had to do was record the last 6 minutes of the show ;) Mike :) * If you are new to the Jewel list and need a helping hand * The Jewel EveryDay Angels List Homepage & Guide is at: * http://www.spectra.net/~ducksoup * * If you have list related questions, feel free to email me * at Ducksoup@spectra.net * * DuckofPrey@aol.com WhyADuck55 on AOL Instant Messenger ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 16 Jan 1998 12:35:59 +0100 From: Wednesday Subject: Re:import cd @ Rasputin Michele wrote: >I was at Rasputin Records (California) and saw a Jewel import from China...It >was POY with 2 bonus tracks and the cover looked like Jewel was laying down >and there were flowers on the right side....it was really pretty! I was wondering - could any of you send me a list of the other up-tempo Jewel songs as I think they are cool and quirky and they are nice to wake up to in the morning! Thankyou! The cover is the one with Jewel lying down and the flowers to the right. There was one bonus track; a special edition of Foolish Games. /torsten. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 16 Jan 1998 10:27:21 +0000 From: Jeff Tayama Subject: NJC: Going w/ the flow Hi there, I guess I'll go with the flow and give a brief description on how came to be a Jewel fan. I was living on the OSU campus, I think it was in the summer of 94 or '93, but one of my neighbor's across the street saw Jewel performing at a coffee shop and bought the 2-3 song CD of hers with I'm Sensitive on it. Anyways, this gal and I, her being a singer and me being a guitarist, would sit outside and play and sing every once in awhile. Anyways, she let me listent to the CD and wanted me to learn I'm Sensitive. She bought the full length CD whenever it came out, which wasn't long after that. Her friend moved in a month later, another female singer (both have beautiful voices) and the friend and I started playing out a little and she had me learn Morning Song, way back when. So I guess you could say, I've known Jewel for awhile, before she was even on the radio. Had a chance to see her at a small concert hall in the front room (which means a very intimate show with apprx. 30 people at the most). Unfortunately I couldn't make it do to work. I was bummed and still am b/c I probably could've met her. Oh well, "c'est la vie".
