This is exactly what she is doing; kind of regressing to Adrian's childhood playmate. To me, every time she sing "Adrian, come out and play" it is a little different - pleading, petulant, dispairing, etc. Wheneve I listen to it I am never quite prepared for the emotions it causes. > 2) I have e-mailed Jewel from her site a couple of times and she > hasn't responded. I wouldn't expect a response from Jewel. Her website makes it very clear about that. I'd like to thank everyone who supported my website (and there were almost 50,000 of you since May), but I'm no longer able to afford the site both time and money wise. Perhaps someday, I'll repost it. For now, Simply Jewel no longer exists. So, if you were kind enough to book mark me or link me, you can delete those. Once again, thanks for the great year and all your support. - ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Best Wishes, | *Simply Jewel: http://www.geocities.com/~simply_jewel Frank Clark ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 10 Jan 1998 22:01:47 -0600 From: Sean Subject: Re: when did you... I was channel surfing one day when I saw this beautiful girl in a cowboy hat telling some story.. It looked like she was singing at a ski resort in Colorado or something. I figured it was just some chic trying to get by on her looks, but then she started singing. She had the most incredible voice. I don't remember what song she sang, but I was somehow intrigued by it. She clearly had something to say, and I wanted to know more. For some reason that song followed me around like a good dog--I just kept thinking about it. About two weeks later it was still in my head, so I gave in and tracked down the CD. On the way home I started reading the poetry in the liner notes (I wasn't driving) and I realized she had far more talent than I suspected. I've hadn't been a poetry fan before this, but the way she looked at life was so insightfull while being innocent at the same time. I wanted to hear more. This was the same thing that happened when I found Sarah Mclachlan, and she has since become my favorite singer ever. I still think I'm going to cry when I listen to FTE despite countless spins in my CD player (and I'm a guy.) I joined the list soon after, but I was also a member of the FTE list, and anyone on it knows what kind of volume that list has, so I unsubscribed. I re-subscribed a couple of weeks ago in a quest for more info. I'll probably be around for a while this time. - -s p.s. But, when I heard Jewel sing FG on the MTV awards, I thought it was great but I still wasn't sold yet. However, when I watched her perform on MTV Unplugged I fell in love almost instantly. The next day I went out and bought POY. Like some people have mentioned, I didn't really like all of the album at first. But, man did that change. At the present moment, I love Jewel more than any other performer in my life. I love each and every one of her songs because they vary in style and are all beautifully sung. And they all mean something to Jewel, which is great. Another thing I love about Jewel is that basically it's only her talent that has made her such an amazing musician. Anyone can sing a song written by someone else, but Jewel writes, sings, and composes all her music, which is wonderful. That's how I came to love Jewel, the absolute best performer today, and an all around incredible human being. Aaron The Steel Angel GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!!!!
