Everyone will be starting their = normal life again :( . Anyway, here's my question.=20 In the CD lyrics archive, the third and fourth line it wrote there = 'Another burger, another hot dog,...'. But in Simply Jewel lyrics = archive it wrote there 'She says,...' However, from what I heard from the CD, she sang(something like this), = 'This is call my call from Bahamas/Bihamas call/ The process coming = abroad there ain't nothing for free'. I think I'm wrong and The lyric = archive from SJ will probably be the right on but still, can't seem to = sing it. So help me over here. By the way, I'm not starting an issue here and I = want no war to be started just like the mean and prima donna stuff. Ya, I'm wondering why don't we create something like a signboard = hang in front of the door and wrote there 'We Are Everyday = Angel-Welcome' with Jewel potrait crafted in that signboard. Actually, = it is similiar to those garfield stuff. I'm sure that it would be better = than posters hang behind the doors. However, speaking about = cost...ooopppps. I don't how much. Just an idea. Maybe someone could do = it and include it as JewelStock. At least Jewel got one nomination, leave it at that. I honestly don't think she is the best artist of the year either, but she is a great musician. She has received more than enough. 2 million dollars to write a novel, a movie role when she's never acted, more air play than a lot of musicians, you name it she has had it, steve poltz (that was for my friend Natalie). Well folks, I know I can consider myself flamed as soon as this goes out but that's life. THANKS so much to all the friendly people out there = that supplied my e-mail box with more notes than I can respond to in the = next month (GRIN). I didn't realize Jewel had THAT much material out = there. When I said a "few extra songs", I thought maybe 15-20 (that I'd = assumed most regular recording artists had sitting around that didn't = quite "make the cut" for the debut CD, but WOW, I never expected that = there were so many. Some people said that there were 30 extras, some = said there were 200, and ONE person (I believe it was Mike), said that = she has something like 400? Now I'm a HUGE fan of a lot of different = types of music, but I"ve never known ANYONE that has that much of a = catalog of material (especially for a live show)> I'd always assumed = that you see an artist with one Cd out, you MIGHT get an hour and a half = (some covers, etc), as I've seen that too many times in the past with an = artist that sells HUGE and then tours and headlines theatres and sheds = based on the huge popularity. THANKS for the help from everyone. What I'd really like to do is if = possible get some of the unreleased material, acoustic stuff, AND/OR = unplugged stuff (b-sides, rarites, etc). I have nearly 500 live audio = tapes of various material that I"d be willing to swap tapes for, and = have done this for the last two years and have very good references from = a variety of other mailing lists if anyone wanted to check. Please e-mail me privately regarding this, and hopefully we can work out = something as obviously I'm missing a LOT here! dan Visit My Homepage! "One Stinkin' Grammy Nomination" is better than "no stinkin' Grammy Nominations." Grammy nominations are not an indicaton of how talented someone is. We all know that Jewel is extremely talented and thats all that matters. I actually tend to agree with Lora on this one. Jewel was not the best artist of the year. Sorry, but thats my opinion... Jessica ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 6 Jan 1998 18:30:47 -1000 From: Brent Masao Anbe Subject: Academy awards I just thought of something. I dont know if it was posted already but since Foolish Games was released under The Batman And Robin soundtrack doesn't that mean she has a crack of winning an Oscar for the song? Also if nominated I think all artists must perform on the show so that would mean a televised performance of Jewel Just something that came to mind Brent ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 6 Jan 1998 20:52:14 -0800 (PST) From: Caryn Bailey Subject: grammy nominations My opinion on the subject of Jewel receiving on nomination while others "less worthy" get many nominations is that some people are a little too hard hearted. I mean I love Jewel but I also happen to like other singers and I think some who got nominated for more then one deserved it. I'm only saying this for some singers. I happen to be very particular. I enjoy listening to Sarah Mclachlan and Celine Dion and if they got nominated as well, then all the best to them. Couldn't we expand our interest in music to include singers whose songs are similar to Jewel's? And while I love Paula Cole, that song wasn't exactly brilliant. But if Mariah Carey wins.....grrr. On another note, most of my favs (DMB, Jewel, Sarah, Paula, Fiona) received Grammy nods. :):) But what happened to the Wallflowers, huh?
