I don't think that those lines mean that she was sleeping around. Have you ever spent a night with someone you really like/love, not necessarily having sex, just sleeping? Remember what the morning feels like, everything feels really refreshed, and you are really happy that you have this time with this guy? Like a first Kiss, sort of. And how sometimes you just sit at the kitchen table or wherever, talking about anything, smoking cigarettes and laughing? And everything the guy says just seems so brilliant because you are so in love with him and you are hanging on his every word. I think that she is remembering those times and thinking about what an asshole he has become since then, that he's playing games with her head. Believe me, I've been there. That's my interpretation. Well OH MY!! I am still recovering from the 12-16-97 Lilith Fair show last night! WHEW!! Here goes: WE got there at about noon-ish, and we kind of "snuck in" the gates, and we got on the radio, and the radio chick saw my EDA shirt, and she goes "whats an EDA"", so i explained to her what, or rather, who we are, and she let me tell, ON THE RADIO, who we are!!! Then, we got on the news with my EDA shirt, and Tali (chimebell) holdiong our sign that says ""WHERE IS JEWEL", and ""EDA's MEET HERE". Needless to say, there was only one other EDA we met there. Mary Karlyzen was really cool. Sounds almost exactly like the chick from Letters to Cleo, on her songs soudned really Jewel-esqe. I mean, I sang DEEP WATER to on eof her songs, and it almost matched! =) She stayed after tp sign and talk =) We met Kacy Crowely, got my picture with her,and she even gave me an autogrpahed pick she used. She is SOOO Great! Pick up her CD! I mean, we talked for like a few minutes, and then later on, she brushed by me, saw who I was, stopped me and said hi! It was soooo cooool! She's gonna make it big, hopefully =) On to Chantal Kreviazuk, who played an AMAZING set, and I got a picture with her and a really cool autogrpah on my Lilith Fair card. K's Choice ROCKED! Nothing else to say about that! Lucious Jackson..well...we'll skip them =) Missy Elliot came on...I vomited (kidding), but I really walked down to go see Ana Gatenmeyer (the chick from SNL w/Sarah). She sang "Basted in Blood"..it was funny! Then the Indigo Girls came on! THey played a GREAT set!! =) THey invited everyone on the stage to help with a different song. It was really great SHERYL CROW!!! OH WOW!! SHERYL CROW!!! ** =) ** That is the reatty long set that was totally kicking! She really blew me away! She had a cold, though, and it was like 40 degrees that night! Oh well *sigh* can't wait till she comes back =) I suppose I must, if I HAVE to (kidding) SARAH MACHLACHLAN...Words canNOT describer her set.... Amazing!! I will say that I did cry during "Angel"...the way she expresses her thoughts and ideas...well, as Jewel would say, "..hands manifest thoughts..." I got great pictures, and was glad we wre in 5th row =) Well, anyways, we had a great night! We met some GREAT artists, and got to see many old friends, and one new EDA =) It was really cold, though. Our seats were great, we SPREAD Jewel, and recruited MANY members! I did tape the show last night! WOW!! Sorry if this is so long....anyways, email me to talk! =) Luv, Sebastien (The yodeling Swiss Angel) :P {\o/} /_\ P.S. I forgot to mention that at the end of the show, each member came out and sang BIG YELLOW TAXI together, just like in the first LF =) It was really Cool. Also, they all sang CLOSE I AM TO FINE with the Indigo Girls =) Tape Page: http://members.aol.com/JewelEDA21/tapes.html ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 17 Dec 1997 11:20:55 EST From: Phoenix739 Subject: ???? jewel's musical taste ???? hello all, i was just wondering....which artists does jewel listen to on a regular basis. not her influences but her favorite artists to listen to on the road, in the car, while she sleeps, etc... anyone who knows (MrBB??) please let me know. tanx, jeff ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 17 Dec 1997 15:18:18 EST From: Poefoke Subject: Vote for Jewel for Artist of the Year!!! Hye everyone! I know there's been a post a day or so ago about this magazine article, but I just want to mention it again cause I found it to be very good. Jewel is on the cover of the Jan. issue of Natural Living Today...and there's a 2 page article about her also, with 2 other great *full-page* pics inside as well. Pictures not as common as most. The article is outstanding...one of the best I've read about Jewel in a long time. There's mention of US, the EDA's and it states how if one joins the list, they'll get 50-75 letters a day from Jewel fans...pretty cool I thought. That's like in the 2nd or 3rd paragraph too! It goes on to tell ALOT about her early days. That's the focus of the article. There was a couple things *I* didn't even know...and that doesn't happen often. So I want to recommend for everyone to go out and pick up a copy. I found mine at the Bookstop. I know Barnes and Noble has them also. I'm sure many others as well. Shouldn't be too hard to find somewhere. It's not some kind of rare magazine or anything. Look for it in the Health/beauty section. It took me awhile to spot it cause I was looking in the Outdoors/recreational area...I wasn't sure how to interpret the title at first. Jewel is on the cover, the WHOLE cover (same as the Rolling Stone cover picture), so it's easy to spot...once you're in the right section that is...ha ha. I want to thank Miguel Gonzalez for noticing the magazine, and posting about it...he's the ONLY EDA I've seen post about it! And it's a GREAT article!
