There are plans down the line for the Jewel team to offer merchandise in stores, but that is still in the works, and the last I heard it seemed like it ways still a ways off yet. I'll try to get an update on that. This does NOT mean that you HAVE to order over the internet/online. You can begin your order on the web page, then print out the *calculated* order form and then send in the form and a check or money-order (or STILL order by credit card) to the address listed on that form. To do this, go to "The Jewel Store" on the Jewel site. Decide what you want and go to the order form. Fill in the necessary info for what you want to buy, fill in your zip code ("00000" for orders outside of the USA), and then press "Calculate Order". The resultant page is your order form that you either have to complete online or print out. In this case you print it out, fill in all the blanks (name, addy etc) and mail it on in to the address listed on that form. (You could also FAX it in at this point, if ordering by credit card) Mike ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 7 Dec 1997 00:07:05 -0800 From: "Henry" Subject: calendars Does anyone know if the calendars that they sell at www.jeweljk.com is available anywhere else? I have been on this list for quite a while now and never felt like writting anything big. I usually just email person to person if I have a comment... But this was something I wanted to share with you all... I thought that there might be a few of you out there that felt the same way...a little outta date.. But I am shy... On Tuesday October 28th , Amelia took me to see my favourite singer in concert. JEWEL!!!!! SHE ROCKED!!!!!!!! That woman radiates charisma like I have never seen before. I actually had the chance to meet her but didn't. I was too shy.. What does one say to one's idol? All I could think of was thanks for touching my soul with your music...sounded too stupid. So I missed a chance of a lifetime. I know she's a normal person and all... I have been in the concert scene way too long not to know that, but for some reason... I just went all DUh....sat there in the second row and just let myself freefeel....it was beautiful. I actually lost it durring two of the songs....just brought back old memories with them..... yet I still love them.. go figure. I am used to having her songs move me like that though.... most of the time I just feel like it is radiating into me.. and I just shake with feeling....does that sound stupid? It is the only way I can describe it...wierd... Damn! She was that good though...I guess I am a bit biased...that woman is my idol....she was so good even better then I had anticipated. Some bands that you see in concert really dissapoint you because they have been so drastically altered technically that you don't even recognize them live. It was crazy, I have loved her music for sooo long now and I finally got to see her live... god it was fabelhaft!(fairytale like) If you ever have the chance to see her DO IT! I just wanted to share. They will be Jewel's set from the August 17th Montreal Lilith Fair (a wonderful show! :) and her most recent full concert in the United States, the September 20th Common Ground Benefit Show at Hospitality Point, in/near San Diego, California. Basically, what I need now is help with the construction of the J-card/set-list inserts for the two tapes. Dennis Harris is once again going to do the designing of the J-cards, and list veterans will know that we like to use actual photos FROM the shows on the J-cards when we tree tapes, so that's what I am looking for...photo's from those two shows. So, if anyone out there has decent photo of Jewel from either of those shows, I would love to see them and put one (or maybe two) on the respective J-card. Of course all photos submitted will be returned and credit will be given on the j-card(s) to whose photo is used. If you can help in this task, or know of someone who may have a photo that can be used please email me ASAP :) Please don't email me now asking for particulars about this tape tree, as all of the necessary information will be announced on this list in mid-to-late January. If you are new to all of this and don't really know what a tape tree is, you can check out this blurb about tape trees I have on my site: http://www.spectra.net/~ducksoup/tapetree.htm or if you can't access the web, write me and I'll email you a copy of what is on the page. Mike :) P.S. For those that don't know, a J-card is that paper thingy in a cassette case that lists all the songs and stuff that is on the tape. It is so named as it looks like a "J" when viewed from the side. * The Jewel Mailing List Netiquette & New Member Guide is at: * http://www.spectra.net/~ducksoup * * If you are new to the list and need someone to guide you * please check out the "Adopt A Newbie" page at: * http://www.geocities.com/wellesley/3079/newbies.html * * If you have list related questions, feel free to email me * at Ducksoup@spectra.net * * DuckofPrey@aol.com WhyADuck55 on AOL Instant Messenger ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 7 Dec 1997 13:29:08 -0500 (EST) From: James McGarry Subject: re: Who is Charlotte Caffey?
