Ok sorry to bring up another romor (sp) 
I heard somewhere that Jewel's song Amen was  written (in memory) about Kurt
Cobain's death, and his fans....and how sad it all was. Does anyone know if
this holds any truth?
Well I dont remember where I heard it...but I know it was online.
It was when we were discussing where Jewel gets her lyrics from.
I think it's neat, if it's true.

	A new england EDA had posted the scheduled times for the appearance of =
Jewel in 'Wizard of Oz in Concert' and I assumed the times they had =
posted were eastern times. =20
	Well, they listed 2am today as a time but for the life of me I cannot =
find the movie anywhere on TV.  I even checked the Prevue Channel and =
that in turn gave me no information.  I am in southern New HAmpshire, so =
if any EDA has a suggestion they could give before the 4pm appearance =

   I know i'm pretty new and my comments may seem a little out of 
line, but you guys out there shouldnt go off on Mike and the others 
who watch over the list. These things take alot of time, money and 
effort and we can sometimes take these things for granted. People 
complaining about why they cant talk about Manson, or why Raven's 
writings cant be posted, or feathers. or whatever else, when it 
really has no place on the list in that it's a personal list and at 
anytime it can go away. Like someone (I believe Mike said...) If you 
want a list to talk about whatever start up your own one  and see how 
easy it is. I like this list so far and the people and I personally 
would hate to see anything happen to it because of a vocal few. But 
that's my opinion, what's yours...?

For anybody who's wondering, the girl in this episode was Juliana Hatfield.
She does sound a lot like Jewel.  However, she doesn't quite have the same
vocal power as Jewel.  :)  But damn I love those My So-Called Life
marathons!  I love that show so much.  I've seen every episode at least 10
times!

So I'd just like to make one comment about the Wizard of Oz.  Props to
Nathan Lane and they guy playing the wizard for being the only ones in the
show that could actually act!

I just want to say that I totally disagree with the free speech argument.

One has the right of free speech, but not at the expense of others! Now
how would you like it if people start exercising their free speech rights
and force you to share their money earning experience with a "multi-level

This is not about the right of free speech, it's about courtesy to
others. We are so concerned about whether we have rights to do something
today that we forget whether we SHOULD do it. So please, remember to be
kind to each other (after all, that's the message Jewel is trying to send
isn't it?), be courteous and post only Jewel related messages.

uh, I apologize for this "non-Jewel-content" message ... but at least I
sneaked in a couple of "Jewel" in there :)

oh yeah, I have a question ... has anyone ordered stuff from the "Jewel

But the Wizard of Oz was apparently replaced by Elvis in Hawwaii or =
soemthing *kicks VH1*, but we can still catch it in it's very last =

difference of opinion on near you always. you said that it meant i don't love

him and she's saying don't do those things because if he does she'll just

to follow." and i also think that in this song she's telling him that he has

please, cause your hands are in my hair but my heart is in your teeth..." i
just thought i'd write and say what i think this song means. i love this

Although the EDA Concert got cancelled, I still feel that it would have been
a good event, but a fun one.  Many people had other things on their minds for
the Thanksgiving gathering, so perhaps that's why it fell through...

If I rescheduled the date for December, during winter vacation, or January,
would people be interested?  The concert would still be somewhere in Southern
California, perhaps at Java Joe's if there is enough attendance.  It would
consist of EDAs who want to do cover of Jewel songs -- live.

If you are interested in this event in any way, shape, or form; please e-mail
me and say so... The flaw during the last round was that we were lacking
participation.  If we can mend that, maybe we can succeed.

I also have a bonus that can be added to the evening, which will serve as a
surprise for the whole list.  I can't spoil it here, but if there is enough
participation and this goes through, I will tell those attending so they can
anticipate it.

So, what do you guys think?   Please, don't be shy.  This is a time when we
need EDAs to support each other.

    I don't usually say much... but I really liked the post about Hidden
Meanings. I totally agree with all but one of them. In that case, I agree
with Lucky997... the word selection in ~Near You Always~ is much too powerful
to be just friends. Actually, does anyone think that it could just mean that
she's a little nervous about the relationship and she just wants to take it a
bit slower. "I Love You" is a big step... and maybe she just wants to go
slower. Or, it could mean that she really loves him, but she's unsure about
his feelings towards her. Y'know, like if someone says it... but doesn't
really mean it? Hmm, I don't really know how to say what I mean. Maybe like
if she doesn't wanna love him so much that if something happens, she'll be
devastated. Anyone understand what I'm trying to say?!

I totally have to agree with you. It seems to me, almost, that they were in a
relationship and then someting happened, and she cannot stand to be around
the person because it makes her fall in love even more. She does love the
person, but because she cannot express that love, she cannot remain evenm
friends. I've been in that situation before, and this song always helped me.
