However, I have just recieved confirmation that Jewel will be in London on December 10th to tape the "Later with Jools Holland-Hogmanay Show". Hogmany is apparently the word for New Years Eve in Scotland. (I invite any UK EDA to jump in & educate/correct me on that explanation.) This show will be broadcast in the UK on 12/31/97. So......unless intercontinental travel is involved, which is possible of course, Jewel may not be doing the UNICEF Benefit as previously reported. More info as I get it. I just want to let you all know how much the IRC chat rooms mean to me. I have been frequenting the chat rooms for quite some time now - and I am one of the original supporters of the eda channel. There are many people that frequent these room who I care about very much. Many have been on the list for a long time and have developed deep, meaningful friendships. It's hard to be a newbie and come in not knowing what's going on. My bit of advice to you is to introduce yourself to us right away!! Just say "Hi, I'm so and so, how is everyone today?" You'd be surprised how many ppl will respond positively to this. You have to remember that many ppl come and go, and many ppl use different nicks - so, often, when a newbie comes in, the 'regulars' won't say anything, cause they're not sure if they should know you. So, rather than possibly offending someone they should know, they often stay quiet. As far as those who have had bad experiences on IRC - I'm sorry for any misunderstandings that may have occurred. I would also like to point out that I know of only two list member on eda that has been banned for any real amount of time. Both of these persons have caused grief to regular IRC users. Whether you like it or not, preference is going to be given to 'veterans' of the channel and ops - simply due to the fact that their is a bond between us all and we won't allow our friends to be subjected to pain caused by a new person who hasn't gotten to know the room yet. Be patient, introduce yourself, etc... You'll find that you will soon share this bond. Thanks to those of you who took the time to read this and let me air my feelings on the subject. "all... through the night....." and everyone is screaming their heads off for her and singing along... It was amazing. I would've done anything to be there! :o) Oh yea by the way.. I've got a question... What is Jewel's NATURAL hair color? Does she dye her hair? I've got to settle a dispute between me and a friend!! hehe!
