Of course, that's mainly because I am a newbie. I don't see how you can say just because someone doesn't know everything about Jewel, they aren't a true Jewel fan. A true fan would be someone who listens to and feels her music, and understands it, almost on a personal level. I recently was sent 2 pictures of what was "labeled" Jewel. The pictures were of a girl who looked like her. One was completely "revealing", the other partially. The one completely I don't believe was her. The other one however was pretty believable. They might have been fake or cut and paste jobs. Does anybody know if this is actually true. Johnson" Subject: Jewel's messages reinforced You all know Jewel's story that goes along with Fragile Flame, right? How all the little mean things that people do all add up and usually end in catostrophe. Anyways, I was watching PrimeTime Live on ABC last week, and they had a story that really reinforces that. It was about a boy/young man that had gotten picked on through out his childhood. He gradually fell in with a really bad crowd and ended up stabbing his mother and shooting people at his school. (and them the interviewer was being a real jerk, but that is off topic) So basically what I am saying is that we should follow Jewel's advice and be nice to everyone. Remember, we can be each other's angels, or we can make each other miserable. Let's be angels. On another note, the freshman history/literature/philosophy class that I'm forced to take involves reading people like Plato, Pico, Thomas More, Marguerite de Navarre and others. I have been seeing alot of connections to some of Jewel's lyrics. I'd love to discuss them with anyone else who has noticed any (or am I totally insane?), but I don't want to clutter the list. If you have anything you want to say about it, please email me personally. I think her various TV appearances have helped her. When I went to Virgin to buy the CD, they didn't have it in the New Releases section OR the normal singles rack. Not a single copy in the shop! Maybe they sold out! ;) I eventually tracked down a lone copy in the 'J' section of the singles rack in HMV. I hope now that she's in the the charts she'll start to get some more recognition here in the UK. According to my Sky Satellite owning friend, she is getting some airplay on MTV Europe, maybe that helped too.
