As a member of both this list and the Fiona Apple mailing list Under The Waves (UTW), I would like to express my feelings of anger and betrayal at these two posts. Although it is very common for members on one mailing list to be members of another and to use these connections to quickly and effectively distribute information, the same does not apply to opinions about different artists. It is inconsiderate to repost someone's message to a place where it was not intended. Further, I believe that it is illegal to do so without someone's knowledge. I doubt that the person who made such a post on UTW would want to make the same statement on a list where *every* member is a fan of Jewel. If I post to UTW, I intend for everyone who subscribed to that list to get my message. If I post to this list, I intend for everyone who subscribed to this list to get my message. Nobody else should be reading it. I should have the freedom to say something like, "Engelbert Humperdink sucks ****!" without having to worry if someone on the Lastly, as a member of this list, I don't need to know when someone expresses their negative opinions about Jewel on another mailing list, be it Fiona's, Tori's, Pantera's, or any other. I certainly do not need to read their exact post. In saying this, I don't think that people should stop telling their feelings about when people have had to defend Jewel against criticisms. It can be very therapeutic, and I don't want to stop that. But I, for one, do not want to see a running tally on who bashed Jewel on any given day. Thank you for your time. Kneep!
