Usually the broadcast starts after the news at 21.00. They'll play only a selection of the songs performed at the concert due to the maximum broadcast time of one hour (until the next news at 22.00). You can hear it at different frequencies in south Germany and via cable in the whole country. (I don't know how but you can get it!) But most important: It is also available via satellit ASTRA. For special technical information you can check the webpage at: http://www.sdr.de/organisation/technik/satellit.html It said that you need a special ADR-Receiver to get the programm. In the german version they said: <> I think that means that you can get the radio station somehow with the TV programm. The TV programm is Suedwest 3 ASTRA 1C Position 19,2 EAST Transponder 48 11,186 GHz vertikal polarisation Hope that some other European EDAs can understand this information and enjoy the show. Maybe even someone else can give a better explanation (well, I don't have a satellite connection) Take care Marian A German EDA ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 11 Nov 1997 12:23:51 -0800 From: dunphynm@essex1.com (Nancy Dunphy) Subject: Angel Standing By Hello Angels! The article contains two photos one with a very young Jewel seated at a piano (I think this has been printed before in an American magazine). The other photo is one of Jewel and Nedra sharing a tender moment together. Photos and full text of the article can be found on my web site, click on 'Sunday Times Article'. It's been a while since I last posted. I just wanted to let you all know that I have put a new section on my website, sort of an editorials page. It's called "The Shard," and my first group of editorials contains a short piece on Jewel. I'd like to know what you all think. http://www.insolwwb.net/~wyldfire On a sadder note, I just needed to post a poem/song I'm working on. A good friend of mine was murdered last week, and I want to pass on how I feel right now. Please let me know what you think. HEAVEN SHINES BRIGHTER TODAY Sadness flow over my tired bones, and miss you is all I can do; I never knew that being alone would hurt, untill I lost you. They tell me you're sleeping now; they tell me that you've gone away; but they don't know that I'll carry you deep inside of me, night and day. (Chorus) And when I see you set like the last evening's sun, know that I won't forget you- you are my dear, darling one. Now that you're gone, I am hurting- I don't know what to say; my world is so dark without you, but Heaven shines brighter today. Quiet solitude unravels me- the silence that you used to fill- and though I know that now you are free, this pain's taken all of my will. Tears are burning lines down my face, my breath is caught in my chest; I know you've gone to a better place, but somehow that won't let me rest. (Chorus) Thanks for listening, Leif aka Wyldfire, the Fallen Angel http://www.insolwwb.net/~wyldfire ADDED LIST MODERATOR NOTE: last August the owner of smoe.org and I discussed what was then a high number of list member written poetry posting on the list. It was decided to not allow it anymore, as it really doesn't belong. (It was part of the list quantity crisis, as we had to bring the number of daily posts to the list down) I did not announce this then new policy on the list, rather I wrote some of the usual poetry submitters and kept it under control that way. I am not sure, but I DO think the regular submitters of poetry to the list found or formed their own list for this. To state what the policy actually is....only poems, stories or songs written by Jewel are to be posted to the list. However, considering the nature and specific reason for the above poem written by Leif, I let this one on through. - Mike ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 11 Nov 1997 19:22:00, -0500 From: HCCZ70D@prodigy.com ( SARAH MERRITT) Subject: Recording sessions I was wondering if anyone (Mr. BB maybe?) knew where Jewel was recording the rest of her new album this spring...like, in California, or in NY where she recorded a portion of the second album. It's only been performed in concert once before this tour & that was almost 3 years ago! That performance was included on one of the first list tapes back then & is often mentioned as a favorite of many. I also wanna thank all the International EDAs. They've done such a great job of letting the vast majority of us in North America know whats goin on in Europe. Its sure good to have all of you reporting. The EDA list seems to have excellent global coverage now! :-) Thank you! I've got a small water-color painting "hanging" on display on my website; it's inspired by Jewel's YWMFM video, so I thought y'all might like to take a gander. I'm new at the whole water-color thing, though, so be gentle (if you please). It's here: http://www.wpi.edu/~pulp/postcard.htm Now that the list isn't news only any more, I don't feel like I'm being overtly pretentious mentioning this. ;) Hope you enjoy it, and thanks in advance to anyone who takes a look. :) Peace, Josh |-- --- ----- -|- ----- ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 11 Nov 1997 18:37:04 -0800 From: Gerrit Kruidhof Subject: Jewel Promo CD's - Want Some? There will be a Living Room Concert, a Thanksgiving Get Together, a Thanksgiving Brunch, a Pajama Jam, and a Cindy Lee Berryhill concert, plus a bunch more during these events. But, now there's one more event added -- THE FIRST EVER EDA CONCERT! To all those who enjoyed the EDA Cover Tape, this is the sequel. You've heard real recordings by actual EDAs -- now hear more EDAs sing LIVE!!!! Recordings (both audio and perhaps video) will be made and treed later on the list. [If you are performing and don't want to be recorded, however, tell us and we will pause the tape(s)]. But, if you will be attending the Thanksgiving events, you can see history in the making by attending!!! Or...performing! We still have room for a few more performers. If you have any talent at all, or if you're like me and you just want to sing some of those Jewel songs that are always in your head, participate! It's time to step out of the shadows and show EDAs what you are truly made of!!! =) No setlist too little, no setlist too big... This is the first opportunity for EDAs to do a cover of Jewel live. If you think you'd enjoy doing so, then sign up by e-mailing me at MAXMOUZE@aol.com Otherwise, please try to attend and support the EDAs who are brave enough to get up onstage and take over Jewel's role (for a little while). It will be a lot of fun and there will even be some other cool stuff in between... so, please plan on attending or performing. We really want EDAs to be able to be here for this experience. Asia's just discovering Jewel, remember? ;) Anyway, the interviewer did mention that she was best enjoyed live, and noted that she seemed a tad pissed off whe= n some people were talking during her performance. Where have we heard that before? :)=20 Another thing- POY is now in the Top 20 bestselling international albums chart in Malaysia. It's at number 10!! Also, I have a tape with a Jewel concert on it that I dont know anything about. Its a soundboard recording and Im guessing it is from some kind of festival from 95 or 96 cause she says Belly was playing the show that day too and she wanted to tour with them. Some guy asks her to yodel and she says "Yodel? F*ck off. No, just kidding, I'll yodel at the very end." She also tells the YWMFM story. The concert may be incomplete and songs may be out of order. The songs on it are as follows: Pieces Of You Kiss Your Ass Morning Song Cold Song 1000 Miles Away Race Car Driver Rocker Girl I Got The Blues More Than You Do Blues YWMFM Angel Standing By Near You Always If you know what show this is please let me know. In each case these emails have been replies to an email that was sent to the list since Sunday. He has been removed from this mailing list. I have a few samples of what he has written to some list members, which are in violation of the guidelines of most internet service providers. I plan to let his provider know what he is up to, but I may need more evidence. If you have received some rather mean spirited private emails in response to a post you made on the list since Sunday, I ask you to please cut and paste the whole email (including headers!!) into a new email and send it to me. Please do not FORWARD it....it will help more if you cut and paste the whole email into a new one and send that one on to me.
