I just wanted to let everyone on the list know of the live Jewel concert from Houston that is on the net. I think it is from last year. Any members from this list that have been around for a while probably already know about this, but for anyone that might not or anyone that is new, the address is: http://www.audionet.com/concerts/jewel/ You have to have Real Audio Player Version 2.0 downloaded which you can do at the above address. Anyone who checks the concert out, please let me know what you thought of it. Take Care, George ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 13 Oct 1997 08:08:38 -0400 (EDT) From: ABershaw@aol.com Subject: 12 Tiny Lights Tour Books still available Hi all, Back in May of this year, this list did several fundraising efforts to help out a very worthy cause. One of these involved the selling of Jewel's leftover tour books. At the time, AmyJo & I threw in an extra $120 so that we could completely sell out the ones available for this project. Anyway, I'm still sitting on those last 12 booklets. If any EDAs would enjoy one of these last booklets, I'm now making them available at cost (while its easy for no-one to miss this post). Read the info below & if you'd like to reserve one, email me with the words "RESERVE TOUR BOOK" in the subject. I'll email you back to confirm that one is being held for you. There are only a dozen left so they'll probably go fast. I'll also post to the list when all are spoken for. I'm going to limit ordering on these to USA mailing adresses only. (If you live outside the USA & desperately want one, please make arrangements so that I can send it to another US EDA who then can forward it to you.) Here are the instructions if you want to place an order: 70% of total EDA List sales of these booklets has already been donated to the JPK Fund on behalf of Jewel & The EDA Foundation. :-) For more JPK Fund info go to: http://www.endor.org/jpk/ Hi to any USA EDAs that would like to aquire one of Jewel's "Tiny Lights Tour '97" booklets that were sold during Jewel's 1st 1997 tour. These booklets contain poetry, writing, vintage & recent photos as well as info about the tour itself. They are 14 pages in length including front & back cover. They were designed by Jewel's close friend BiBi Bielat. NOTE: These are NOT the same booklets that were sold on the recent Papillon and Lilith Fair tours & contain completely different photos & writings. Here's the instructions. Please follow them EXACTLY in order for this to be as easy as possible for us. Cost of the booklets are $10. All booklets will be sent 1st class unless you want & pay for Priority mail. All you need do is send me a standard size manilla envelope (9.5" x 13") that is self adressed & with at least $1.50 in stamps already on it. (Note: DO NOT use postal meter postage! Only stamps. Add an extra 32 cent stamp for each extra booklet ordered up to 5 booklets.) Include $10 cash (NO CHECKS) or postal money order for each booklet ordered. I will simply put however many booklets you paid for in the envelope & send it back to you. Its that easy. If you want the booklets faster, you can send a Priority mailer with a $3 stamp on it instead of a manilla envelope with $1.50 on it. Send your self adressed pre-postaged 9.5" x 13" manilla envelope, with $10 cash (or a $10 postal money order made out to Alan Bershaw) for each booklet ordered to: Jewel Tour Book c/o MrBB P.O. Box 8147 Berlin,CT 06037-8147 Note: If you prefer to send a money order, thats OK. Just make sure its made out to me. (Do not make it out to Jewel or anyone else!). If I cannot personally cash your money order, then I cannot send the booklet & must return your order. Please follow these simple instructions. Thanks! :-) MrBB ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 13 Oct 1997 17:48:01 -0400 (EDT) From: MusFury1@aol.com Subject: Jewel in SPIN Just wanted to let everyone know that there are a few mentions of Jewel in this weeks SPIN magazine. JIM ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 13 Oct 1997 14:10:32 -0400 (EDT) From: Chaplain Dan Subject: NJC: John Denver's death I know this has very little to do with Jewel, but one best of the singer/songwriters of folk music and easy listening has died. His name was John Denver and he died near the california coast in a plane crash. Most of you are probably wondering who in the world is John Denver. Some of you will probably remember him with a lot of misundertanding. Some will remember him as he truly was, a man who worked hard to bring joy into this world through joyful music. He was 53 when he died yesterday on 12 October 1997. It is sad to see this great singer leave us for all the wonderful moments his music has given us. I ask that we have a moment of silence in mourning for this man of music. In whatever you may be doing stop for a moment and think of this loss. For those of you who know who John Denver is remember him. thanks Dan Perugini dperugin@medmail.mcg.edu dperugin@mail.mcg.edu "With malice toward none, with charity for all, with firmness in the right as God gives us to see that right, let us strive to finish the work we are in."
