Woe! Another fire started up, huh? Ive got my extinguisher, hee hee. To all the new people and the ones that have joined since my arrival in Feb. I say, don't worry this will pass. Guess you could call it a squall? Like to congradulate Mike for saving the bacon from the getting burnt. At least we're not on the verge of ...shutting down(again). One more thing before I close up for the night, we are the EveryDay Angels that is the unoffical club of Jewel. There have , I believe, been more good to this group of people than bad. I think Larry said this once upon a time(after JewelStock right?) " We came as fans of Jewel and left as fans of ourselves." Something along the lines of that. Larry, as a sixth grader said to me, 'You da man!' Most people on this list have a good sense of judgement. I think you all know what needs to be done. Done dropping my dime...oops.. 2 cents in this fiasco. BTW -- If you're feeling a bit down listening to all the *stuff* get your ears into listening to Deep Water. Jewel deticated it to the EDAs awhile back. BTW -- for all that are wanting to go play at Mark's EDA concert, more power to ya!! Hello fellow angels!!! LC DESy here and i had a quick question. Does Jewel herself ever write to the list? Has this ever ocurred and if so does anyone know if such a letter is still available. Another thing, what is the demographic breakdown of this mailing list?? Not that I need exact stats, but I was just curious of the mean age of EDA's ? I feel old to be honest and I'm 26. So if there are any older EDA's out there, feel free to write me and chat sometime. Take care, all of you and thanks for putting up with my trivial requests. LCDESY ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 6 Oct 1997 02:00:36 -0500 From: secretmoons@juno.com (L G) Subject: Possible solution? Hi, guys....I hope this helps. I just had a little idea that might compromise some of these arguments. Ok, what if we started an advice tree? Ok, case in scenario. I want to ask some people what happens after you find out that a friend has died, or something less serious. This is NJC, correct? Well, if there were more specific rules on NJC, maybe the advice tree could accept all the NJC that didn't need to be sent to the list. The tree would consist of any angel who wouldn't mind helping out. These angels would be compiled into a list and posted somewhere.....When someone needs help, or to talk NJC, they could pick any name (from the list) at random and email that "advice angel" PRIVATELY. That angel would respond, and if the person needed extra help, the advice angel could forward the message to the next angel in line on the list, etc. And, if the matter is totally serious and needs more help, it might be posted with the approval of Mr. Mike or course. That way, the list would not be receiving so many posts, and the person in need would get at least one if not all the replies from the entire advice list. I will head up this project, if it is deemed worthy, so please mail me and let me know if you approve. Please do not mail me saying you will participate yet, this will come later. First things first. I want to clear this with the majority of EDAs. Please mail me.........Secretmoons@juno.com and write vote in the subject. I will compile these votes for one week. Then, I will run it by Mike, and the necessary big boys......I just want to help, guys, and this seemed logical. Let me know what you think!!!! Looking for Pat Klein/Lawrence Fantl? Argh! I can't believe this! I was doing some cleanup of a pile of stuff not related to anything that would show up on this list, and I found some blank tapes that were sent to me! This is from last year, but I've kept all my email correspondence filed away, and I can't find any referrence to either of the names on the return envelope. I'm 99% positive this would be Jewel tapes, since I almost never get approached for Deborah Gibson tapes, and I don't collect any other artists besides those 2. Anyway, the address is a sticker, looks like it was ordered from the Wilderness Society. The name line reads "Pat Klein & Lawrence Fantl," and the address is in New York. If you have any idea what these tapes are for or how I can contact Pat/Lawrence, please let me know! I must have had these tapes since LAST YEAR! If you two are on the list or somehow receive this message, I AM SO SORRY, I don't know how these tapes ended up outside of the pile of "to do" copies. Oh, and for those waiting for Innerchange Days tapes from me, I ran out of songlist inserts and had to make more photocopies, I'm copying now, I hope to have the next batch mailed out this week. Now, remember, you're talking to someone who knows absolutely nothing about guitars except that I want to play one! and finally.... 4) To all the south east PA people...I think we should have an EDA gathering...I'm not sure where or when but I've never been to one and the only ones I hear of are out in California....There's a nice little coffee house near my place but if anyone has any suggestions or comments, feel free to email me. If not, GO THERE AND READ IT. Mike's site is required for joining AAN ( as a parent or newbie ), and checking it out will save you a lot of grief and flames. Once you've checked out Mike's site at http://www.spectra/net/~ducksoup please check out http://www.geocities.com/wellesley/3079/newbies.html WE NEED PARENTS- list "vets" who know the ropes and are willing to monitor some newbies in order to make the list a better place to be :). Please go to the above AAN address for more info, and to sign up. AAN is also set up to be a resource for newbies. It's a great way to meet other newbies from your area, so even if you don't want to be adopted, you can still check out who else is in your state- or give me your info in case someone else is looking for you :). Hey Angels, Ok, so I'm taking Commercial Art this year and one of our first projects was to design/decorate a big posterboard for our portfolio. So guess what? I know, big surprise. I decided to draw and color the picture of Jewel with the big yellow flower behind her. I think it's from the new lyric book that's out, I'm not sure. I got it off one of y'alls pages. :) Thank you whoever it was. (Whoever has the one with like 200 pictures) Anyways, I can't draw, so I put it under a projector to make it bigger and traced it. The hard part was coloring. I used colored pencils. I'm so not talented in this area, so it was hard for me, I was nervous 'cause I didn't want to mess it up. And that picture has a lot of shading and stuff in it. But I finished a few weeks ago. And actually, I think it looks pretty darn nice for my first time. A lot of my friends say it looks good and that it looks just like her. (don't know if they're just saying that though) I'd love to show you all and Jewel one day. :) It's pretty nifty.
