It's crazy how practically none of my friends or classmates realize how great Jewel is! Ah well. To make this post actually substantial, I would like to ask any of you who have actually met Jewel, or come within less than 50 feet of her (about the distance I was from the stage at the Berkeley Community Theatre April 1) (sigh) to post a description of what it was like, and basically tell your story about meeting Jewel or seeing Jewel in concert, etc. I imagine requests like this get posted everyday, and for that I apologize. When I expressed my enthusiasm regarding the idea of Jewel making a Christmas album, I in no way, meant to imply that she "needed the money" or "expected people to buy it, simply because it was Jewel." Call me blunt, but my only point was that I think that Jewel has an absolutely beautiful voice!! And I think that if she, perhaps, remade those classic Christmas carols (that you find boring), that her passion, enthusiasm, and overall beauty, might revive and enhance their appeal.
