It's the music my friends. If success like hers were based on looks, then spice girls would have beaten her out by now...as well as a whole truckload of other female artists. People just need what she gives, that sound, that honesty. It is not the greatest music in the history of music (though it is up there! ;), but it is damn good, and it is quite needed, and she hit the right combination, by staying true to herself. Nuff said. Or at least, it was in the movie/soundtrack. I'm not sure if she wrote it before the movie or if it was written directly for the movie. But you have to be able to play chords fast, play melodies,on the acoustic the your electric playing will improve. Also distortion boxes do cover up crappy playing it alows for better hammerons and pull-offs and you can really fake fast riffs if you have the treble way down and all you can hear is fuzz.
