Her name is Dayna Manning and she's a 19 year old singer songwriter from Canada. She has a wonderful voice and her music is very honest and compelling. I saw her perform last night at the Kendall and I highly recommend her to all the EDAs! She has a delightful aura of sweet innocence about her and is a really wonderful honest person. Plus she's heard of the Every Day Angels!! So any EDAs in the vicinity who can, please help support Dayna! :) Her first album ever, "Dayna Manning Volume 1" is also currently available. Tara MacLean is also a follower of Dayna's music, so if you can, go se Dayna! She's starting her first tour of the U.S. and her next 2 shows are at: Wed 9/10 - Starbucks Coffee at Astor Place - NYC two sets at 6 and 7 pm free! and: Fri 9/12 - Bibelot (kind of like a Borders instore) - Timonium, MD set at 6:45 So if you can, go see Dayna! I'm glad that I joined this list and was able to purchase some Jewel-stuff like T-Shirt, picks, and the like. However, it's next to impossible to find a place that have any Jewel posters, even if that poster is a replica of the Rolling Stone cover. Anyone know if Jewel will authorize any posters in the future that are printed with her picture in the concert? One of my fave Jewel pics is Jewel looking at the camera but her eyes are focusing on a spot below the camera, while sporting a blue(?) blouse. I think the general public does. I mean, we are everyday people and some of us spend all day analyzing her every move just like half the population of earth and I don't think she is turning herself into anything, I think the fans are and that they analyze too much. No offense or anything, but I just wanted to offer my opinion because I like Jewel, but I am not like Pro-Jewel or anything, so I thought you might like some extra input. Hey Angels: it's been a while since I last posted: ). First about Jewel , her ego and the conceited thing ; i think very few EDA's know Jewel personally. I believe there are some that have met her , but there are really few that know Jewel on a personal basis. For all we know, Jewel could be a fake and a sell=out , but still she is a hell of a performer and singer. We can't say Jewel is honest just because she writes what seems to be introspective, and positve lyrics. Yet we can't say that Jewel is snobbish and superficial either. We don't know her ... it's really hard to pass any type of judgement on any person ,even a person you love and know as a friend. You can't say " Jewel is the most down to earth , sensitive , sweetest thing cause she seemed that way when i met her" , but you can't say either " jewel is being a bitch because she forgot to mention the fans at the awards". After I pass a judgement on a person I know , I seem to withdraw that judgement after a while ,cause there are too many facets in a person (and especially a person you don't know) too make any kind of postive or negative assumption about her . You can have your own opinion of what you think or believe , but you can't say " jewel is stupid " or "without a doubt Jewel is an angel". If jewel where a character in a book , after reading the book you could make such a statement cause she would be a two dimensional character , but life is a little more intricate and complex than that. that's all, until then your auto cheap archangel : Rafa -To hate is strictly human , especially when man sees hatred he cannot comprehend - A. First of all, I want to thank all you beautiful people who replied to my request for angel food. Now, I have a problem, You have all provided me with a list of angelfood that totals about 25 different tapes/sessions. Though I would like to get ALL of them, I just can't get all of them (at least not right now). I would appreciate some advice....if you EDAs could steer me in the right direction I would be eternally grateful. Here's the question...say you were going to limit yourself to 10 recordings to start with....which ones would you choose (keeping in mind that I only have the POY album). Your generosity is greatly appreciated, and your advice is...well...pretty darn necessary(and I would treasure it forever, along with my beautiful angelfood). Keep smiling! Here's the experiment... You will be allowed 10 seconds of speech per week. What you say will be critically analyzed by millions of people. They will read into what you are saying as far as possible, extracting meanings you did not neccessarily intend. (In extreme cases, these extracted meanings will be beyond your imagination.) In any case you will be exalted or attacked for these extracted meanings by those who follow your actions closest. You will be known as "a celebrity". Chew on that for a while before you unfairly criticize Jewel or anyone else in the public eye. Stay sensitive, Nathan dogslife@bigfoot.com "The world owes me nothing.
