Why is everyone so hyper about Jewel not thanking her fans? She probably just forgot. She'll probably look back on it and say "Oh my gosh, i forgot." I dont think her additude has changed at all. She seems just as sweet as the first day I saw her. And the make-up thing...are you guys that superficial? It's the music that really matters, not how much make-up someone applies. I think she looks beautiful with make-up on or no make-up on. And i thought when she said shut-up to the annoying screaming people it was cute. Some of you take things too seriously. That's just my point of view, so please do e-mail me back to yell at me. I have been extremely busy this last week registering for classes and stuff so exuse the tardiness I've saved all your messages and will reply to you all I promise. Also wondering if there is anyone out there in the rutgers area or in new Jersey somewhere where we can trade tapes on a local basis without the hassle of the us postal service. That's about it for now. And even if she didn't thank us, I am just as happy as I would be if she thanked the EDAs.....although I would be truly over-joyed if she said, "and I want to thank Jon Hamilton." :) Well in comparison to people not really knowing what was behind her words I look at Pearl Jam when they won a Grammy (yes, Jon is showing another Pearl Jam example. :) ) Ok, it was for best heavy metal song...."Spin the Black Circle" Eddie said somethin like, "I don't know what this means. Probably not much. My father would be proud. I didn't know him well. Yea, he would have liked it." A lot of people took this as him insulting the award, and saying that fans don't matter, but you gotta look at the biographical song "Alive" to understand. He knew his father as a distant friend to the family...met him a few times, when he was 17 or 18 his mother sat him down and said, "When you were 13 your real father died." He was shocked...always thought his step-father was his real father. Well, the point of this is to say.....Don't judge people for stupid things, I mean you are all basically sayin. "I am mad because she didn't thank me, I may not like her anymore." She could have said, "I don't want this! This means nothing!" and I would still love her as much as I do. Treat Jewel like a child, and accept her for what she is. Don't critique every little thing she says. Say she did mess up....I mess up everyday....she is, after all, just a mortal like me. :) In Christ, JonBoy911 ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 8 Sep 1997 20:48:32 -0700 From: haisigns@juno.com (HAI K. One added feature at Suuperdeformed's suggestion, if you do not have a web page to link to, I will put your entire list on a seperate page for you. If you have any angelfood or are just looking, please check it out and let's spread the music! Matt the trading list angel _________________________________ Recipes for Angelfood! The Internet Jewel Tape Trading Page Introduction This page is a place for lovers of Jewel and her music to trade tapes with fellow angels. On this page you will find a list of people who are willing to trade their angelfood for more tapes or simply make copies if blanks are provided. I have been involved in tape trading for about three years and have traded tapes of Prince, Billy Joel, Musicals, and more...Oh yeah, I guess I have a few Jewel tapes too!!!! :-) My introduction to tape trading was through a Prince list similar to the one I am starting here. Due to the kindness and generosity I have witnessed in my trading experiences, I would like to give something back in the form of this Jewel traders List Guidelines This List To be included in this list, simply send an e-mail to me (or fill out form online), and I will add your info as soon as possible. In this e-mail please include all information contained in the other listings. I will also provide a monthly e-mail of an updated list to all interested. Please state in your subscription e-mail whether you want the e-mail or just to be included. I ask that to keep this list up to date, that you update your entry at least once every three months. If you have no changes, simply send me a message saying to change your update date. This will prevent old addresses and those no longer trading from being on the list. Courtesy This list is not only for those who already have tapes, but to help new traders as well. If you are willing to help, please say so in your info. As a courtesy to these individuals, please do not take advantage of there generosity. If all people receive are requests for tapes, they will likely stop granting them. I ask that anyone with the capability of dubbing to please join as soon as they have even one tape to trade. If someone gives you 2 shows for blanks, then subscribe and be willing to do the same for the next person. One last note, I am making this up off the top of my head. All suggestions are welcome and encouraged! There have been a lot of "me too" posts lately and it has to stop. If you're guilty of this crime (as we all have been at one point or another), there's no need to confess. Just think before you respond to the list after adding "Yeah I think Jewel looks better without make up too." to someone else's post. Do 1300 other people want this in their mailbox? (When there are 20 other people just like you, who are typing up the same post, it can add up pretty quickly.) If you really must express support for someone's argument, without expanding the discussion, do it privately please. Please have some consideration for the people who will receive your posts before you hit that "send" button. I haven't posted much at all in the last few weeks because I've really raised my standard for what constitutes a worthwhile post. That's why any newbies reading this haven't a clue who I am. :) If you're about to flame me for this, think about whether or not you fit this description. If you do and you feel I should be told where to go and what to do when I get there, first consult the EDA netiquette page. You'll see that I'm not bringing this request out of thin air. It's a pre-existing guideline that's been ignored far too much lately. Thanks for reading. Stay sensitive, Nathan dogslife@bigfoot.com "The world owes me nothing.
