Aside from the drunken women beside us and a few too many screaching girls, it was totally awesome :) I went with a friend who has never seen Jewel live before and she loved it, so that was really groovy (and I've been trying to get to to subscribe for like... ever... now. one of these days!!) We met up with Brian Hite and Dan (uhm... I don't remember your last name! sorry!) before the show and managed to get the first row of the general seating, which wern't too bad of seats. anyhow, as we were watching the opening act, I noticed a girl walk by... one of a set of twins I remember from another show (or 2)... yes Tim.. YOUR WOMEN WERE THERE! well, one of them, I was ROFLMAO, and noone was there to understand! Ask Tim for this story if you don't know what I'm talking about, its too funny. and you'll be happy to know that the guy she was with looked just about like a cross between you and uhm... John Castro (*ducks*). LOVE YA TIM. Speaking of which, I missed my Ohio concert family! LIZ! TIM! SHELLY! :( anyhow, on to the set list... she came out to sing with the opener (what's his name?)a song I'm gonna call it "Smart in a stupid way" her set.... I guess thats about it! take care all Peace, Mia! ~~~~~ Vale et me ama, Amelia S. It was a great show. She dedicated "Angel Standing By" to the passing of Princess Diana and Mother Theresa. I thought it was very nice. She told the crowd to be quiet during the song but there were a few idiots who still screamed. I thought this was very rude. Other than that i thought the crowd was great. I think this concert was far better than the one I saw in March. But i liked the Rugburns opening up for her better. I didnt like the guy who opened for her too much, however the people around me seemed to like him. Well guess thats it, dont want to make it too long. Just wanted to tell you all what a great show she put on tonight. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 7 Sep 1997 23:42:30 -0400 (EDT) From: Hrgigerfan@aol.com Subject: MVA and sticking up for Jewel Hello EDA's First of all, I don't think that Jewel is stuck up at all. How could anyone say that she is stuck up or conceited when they aren't around her enough to know? When she accepted her award, she had the right to express her opinion. If she thought the MVA's were silly, then thats her opinon, every is entitled to their own opinion and they can express it. She had the right to tell those people to shut up when they were being very rude. They obiously did not respect Jewel very much. I mean come on, she was trying to say her little speech! How would you like it if someone kept interupting you? As far as thanking the EDA's and her fans, that would be her own choice. The award that she got wasn't really decided by the people, so she didn't really have any reason to. And maybe she just forgot, plain and simple, even though we love her so much, she is very busy and probably tired. She is the kind of person that respects and likes her fans, especially the EDAs, she just doesn't have time, thats a problem of fame. Remember she is just a human being who is allowed make mistakes, she's not perfect. Also, who cares if she wears make up or not? Its her choice and her body. She might need it and she might not. She is a very beautiful woman, but the main thing I like about her is her ideas and music. Remember, we are her dedicated fans, not ther people who run her life. I just had to get that off my chest, thank you for reading. Maybe she felt a little disappointed that she didn't win in that category. I mean, this one was *completely* up to the fans, and she knew that. Anyways, it's over with. Speaking of the FG video, I remember when we first heard that FG was going to be her next single. There was a person that put together a script of what we thought would be a good video. I really liked that "video" that we wrote up better than the one that's out right now. __________________________________________________________________ (` + + | _ +| Inside my heart there's an empty room. _)|)(||`|<_\ +| It's waiting for lightning; it's waiting for you. + | mark + + | -=Jewel "Absence of Fear"=- __________________________________________________________________ ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 08 Sep 1997 00:41:56 EDT From: sparksmark@juno.com (Sparks the Everyday Angel) Subject: Re: Fwd: Sticking up for Jewel >Devilda23@aol.com wrote: ><< I got some news for y'all, no artist at the VMA's thanked >their fans. That is exactly what has been running through my mind. It seems like we're always making excuses for Jewel. "Umm...she didn't thank us. Bummer... Oh wait!! Neither did nobody else!! Ah ha!" We all know that Jewel choses her own path. We were prooved that when she sang Angel Standing By instead of FG. So...why did she choose not to thank us? <> That is one of the most honest things I've heard someone say about Jewel. A little bit too drastic, but at least Kristy was honest. I just hope that she doesn't stay this way forever. She'll lose a lot of fans this way. :( __________________________________________________________________ (` + + | _ +| Inside my heart there's an empty room. _)|)(||`|<_\ +| It's waiting for lightning; it's waiting for you. + | mark + + | -=Jewel "Absence of Fear"=- __________________________________________________________________ ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V2 #710 ***************************
