I have read quite a few on the list, particularly artists from the MVA. I have a lot of those same feelings, and I'm not going to change them, but I'm not going to voice them either. There is really no reason to cut down another type of music or artist because you don't like them, no matter the reason. Remember, one person's treasure is another's garbage. And I remeber Jewel saying something like, "You've got to be careful about what you think, it's what gets us out." I was here a long time ago with another address, but I'm back. Anyway... I propose a trade... I need angelfood badly... but I am also poor. Ergo the trade. If you see the website below, that is a site where I can give Sarah McLachlan fans web space for Fan-related web pages. I can do this for EDA's as well. Right now, first dibs go to two seperate groups: Those that volunteer to act as webmasters for various main pages (news, updates, etc.) and those who send me angelfood. These people may also have personal pages up on the site. I am also opening this up for people who can't do either of these, but this group is limited to EDA- or Jewel-related pages only. Lemme know! I had a lot of fun!! I just can't get over the fact that she played in Toledo!! Tonight's show made me realize how much I hate Toledo!!!!!! The crowd absolutely SUCKED!!!! Shell and I had 5th row seats, which was very nice!!!! Ummm...highlights: EVERYTHING BREAKS AND STUDIES IN LOVE #12!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was soooooooo excited to hear these songs!!!!!!!!!!!!! Foolish Games was absolutely beautiful...as usual. She sang Chime Bells slowly...kind of how Atz sings it. That REALLY rocked!!!! Oh, yeah, she sang Carnivore and Love Me Just Leave Me Alone (two of my fav band songs!!!!) She had on the cutest cowboy hat!!! SHelly and I were about to murder everyone who was sitting around us who kept screaming and whistling while she was singing. One of the best songs of the night was Angel Standing By. Many of you know that I dedicated that song to Shelly in my school project that I did for her last Christmas, so that has special meaning for the both of us. It was particularly touching this evening because, as many of you know, Shelly is leaving Toledo for California in a few weeks. I'm gonna miss that girl soooo much, and I couldn't help but to cry. So, anyway, before I get all mushy, content wise...the show ROCKED!!!! Crowd wise, the show SUCKED!!!!! Some idiot even screamed some rude comment out, which caused a lil rebuttle from the J-Girl, and there were a bunch of screams for "Yodel". Besides all that crap, I had fun!!!! In fact I was sooooo out of it, that I actually asked Mike C. if SNL tonight was a repeat or if it was live??!!! HOW BLONDE AM I??!!!!!! HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, my contacts are fogging up on me! I love you all, Love, Liz P.S. Andrea: it was great finally meeting you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tim: I'm going to miss you an awful lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Prog: I love you man, what else can I say??!! Rocky & Jessi: You gals R-O-C-K!!!!!! ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 07 Sep 1997 00:08:44 PDT From: "Patrick Rubiano" Subject: Advice: Getting into SNL Hello Everyone- For all those interested on getting into SNL, here is some friendly advice from someone who's tried: AGE REQUIREMENT: You must be at least 16 years of age to enter the studio where SNL is taped. If you manage to get a standby ticket, and see a ticket holder who is under age, get the guards to check their ID. It's a mean thing to do, but if you're desperate to see Jewel, who cares? I almost did that, but I knew the person who was under age... hehe... anyway... THE DAY BEFORE: If you are not really in the area of NBC Studios in the city, it is best to check the weather forecast for the next day. Pay particular attention to early evening and late-night forecasts. If it DOESN'T look like rain (and I mean REAL rain... not any of that light rain stuff), then it might be a good idea to stay home and get some sleep. Why? The tickets given out are standby tickets... you only get in if there is space in the studio. Heavy rain will encourage ticket holders to miss the show. This is especially true for those who recieved tickets and are not happy with who's hosting (since the tickets are given out by lottery). Unfortunately, Jewel is on the season premiere of SNL, so that makes it even harder to get in, since people are anxious to see the new material. THE MORNING: They start giving out standby tickets at 9:15 AM, the day of the show. Obviously, you should get there early. If you are very intent on seeing SNL, I suggest getting there at 5:30 AM (just to be safe). I believe the address is: "30 Rockefeller Plaza", between 5th and 6th Avenue (East of Radio City Music Hall). The line should form on the South side of the building, the first person being under the marquee that reads: "NBC Studios... Rainbow Room". Please note that there are a few identical marquee around the building, so remember: It's on the South side of the building, across the street and a little West of the corner window where they shoot the Today Show. AFTER THE WAIT: When you get to the front of the line, you have two options: 1) Get a ticket for the dress rehearsal. This starts at 7:30 PM, and of course, you will have to be there before then. The dress rehearsal is shorter than the live show, but hey... seeing Jewel is seeing Jewel, right? Just so you know, do NOT get the idea that "since it is just a dress rehearsal, more ticket holders will be more likely to miss it". Often times the dress rehearsal is more convenient for people since it is earlier. 2) Get a standby ticket for the live show. Again, this is slightly longer than the dress rehearsal. You should probably already know that the show starts at 11:30 PM. INSURANCE: If you can, bring a friend with you. If you can't find anyone to go with you (either 'cause you haqve no friends, or they are just too damn lazy), hire someone. Each person is only allowed ONE standby ticket. So, you will want someone with you who will get you a standby ticket for whichever show YOU ARE NOT getting a standby ticket for. That way, you have a standby ticket for both shows, and it will save you the decision of which show to choose once you get to the head of the line. You don't want to go home and say: "Damn, maybe I would have gotten in if I chose the other show!" Well, that's all the advice I can give you. I won't be in NYC on the 27th, so good luck to all of you who will try to get in! Remember, you can always visit NBC's web site at "WWW.NBC.COM" for information. One more thing... if any of this stuff actually helps you get in... please let me know!
