(BTW Steve, the chick with the short hair and the jacket IS an EDA. Her name's Allie and she's been on the list a LOT longer than me!) I really didn't like the production. The questions from the fans were only questions that people thought of that coincided with the ones MuchMusic already had planned! And I was not pleased to see Master T hosting. I was really hoping for Terry David Mulligan. They made no effort to make it enjoyable for us poor bastards out on the street. They had a video monitor placed so that we could have watched it up there if we couldn't see to the window except after the Motley Crue spotlight :D, they dropped the blinds over the monitor and that was the end of that! So we didn't see anything worthy of mentioning except that we are 99% sure that those WERE EDA PICKS SHE WAS USING!!!! (We had a decent look at the mic stand a couple of hours before air time.) If you EVER go to see an I&I, MAKE A POSTER and be ready when they come outside asking for "PEOPLE WITH POSTERS"!!! It will get you in! A set of 13 songs and TEN were off POY? There were girls in front of Steve and I who wanted to kill us for the occasional grumble about all the album tunes. (I think they miss their CD players.) Well at least she played "Deep Water". :) Where were all the other EDAs? There were only three and a half of us there! (Yve is an honourary EDA so she counts for half.) I don't think it's a bad idea for Jewel to be a movie star. First of all, I'm sure she considers herself to be a singer and a songwriter first and foremost...it's what she's been doing since she was a little girl. Second, I believe she makes her decision after some serious consideration. Besides, Steven Spielberg is a terrific filmmaker and I'm sure he'll put her talent into good use. As for whether her music will be cut-back, I do not think so. In fact, I think if any artists in U.S. really wanted they could produce at least one album every other year. I also listen to mandarin artists (yes I'm Chinese! =) ) and some of them are also actors and actresses. Even between films they still manage to come out, on the average, of two albums each year. Below two and they'll think they've slack-off a little. Imagine two every year! The drawback is my pocketbook, though ;) Anyway, I think it still can be done (I have to add, though, that those artists don't have concerts or tours every year, in fact. Concerts are uncommon in places like Taiwan or Hong Kong) and Jewel already has like over 200 songs. If it weren't for her extremely greedy and money-hungry record company (yes I'm talking about you Atlantic Record) she would've come out with her second album and working on the third or fourth. Jewel will not disappoint her fans, I'm sure. Well, we'll have to wait and see. I really hope Jewel goes for a supporting role first and doesn't make the direct jump to starring role. Also, she needs a very, very good script too. I think Spielberg is a good choice to guide her because he is truly one of the best directors of this century (I'm not counting Lost World). Here's to her luck! It is reported that 36 artists would appear on the LP, including Bruce Springsteen, Tracy Chapman, Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Aerosmith, Jewel, the Neville Brothers, and a duet between Ray Charles and INXS. Ugh! Lakestock? I don't want to crticize the event or those who organized it, but don't you think the whole -stock thing is been done to death? I, personally, am sick of it. Why doesn't everyone on this list each have a - -stock, so we can have 1400 different events all the same? It was cool for Lizstock and Chelstock, but now it's getting to the "i want on that wagon, too" point, and it's silly. (And Harborlights is not really Un-stock, it was satire, aka sarcasm, ha ha funny...) I think Mike, our gracious list operator, should forever ban any more - -stocks on the list. I mean it, i am not joking. Flame me if you want, but send it to me, not the list. Actually, I'd like it if you'd flame me, and I know someone is gonna whine about there -stock privilidge being taken, but hey, tough... Lemme know if I do.), but I still don't know what j cards are. If someone could E-mail me privately and explain it to me I would be very appreciative. Also, I requested Innerchange Days and Rare Angels from the person (sorry, I forget the name) who the Welcome E-mail (ya know, the one you get when you subscribed to the list) said to. She assigned someone to help me get these tapes and I did exactly what the person said to do. I sent the correct number of blank tapes and my E-mail address, snail address, etc. and that was almost a month ago. Anyways, what I'm trying to ask is how long did it take other EDAs to get their angelfood? I'm kinda waiting on those so I can trade with other EDAs.
