However, I don't think one post is any indicative of the people on this mailing list, as I know that a great majority of EDAs are really nice people. Recently, this mailing list has its ups and downs, and this may be a good time to again remind everyone to be more sensitive to other people's feelings and not use words that are offensive or insulting to people you respond to via email. As for the backstage pass, I don't know if anyone in this list can help you. It's something that I'm sure every Jewel fans crave but extremely hard to get hold of. I've heard that once Mr. BB (before he left the list) was bombarded with backstage pass requests but even he couldn't give them away because he didn't have access to them despite his proximity with Jewel. It was unfortunated that some people were rude to him because they thought he wasn't willing, when in fact he just didn't have any (the backstage passes). This is not meant as a critique but just my wish to see EDAs treat each other with friendliness and generosity. Okay, 'nuff said. I just have a couple questions that I was wondering about, and so naturally I turned to you all first, hoping someone could help me. 1) I am looking for the RAINN X III CD, but have heard rumors that it is only being sold in Atlanta. Living here in BC(Canada) it seems that I will have no chance of ever getting myself a copy it that is true. I was wondering if there is someone who would be willing to buy the CD for me, and I could work something out regarding the money and P&H. I would really like a copy, I heard snippets of it on the 99X site, and just have to have it. It's got some great songs on it, Jewel included, and I think that it is for a wonderful cause. Please e-mail me privately, and hopefully this can work. 2) I'm wondering if there is anyone who has any Angelfood copies of Jewel's show on Richards on Richards, (in Vancouver) from Sept.'96, and the Tiny Lights Tour in New Westminster(near Van) from April '97. Actually, any of the tiny lights tour tapes would be wonderful, but I'm looking for those 2 especially. Any help or information would be very much appreciated. After looking at their itinerary it seems it will be very difficult for them to do a 2nd LRT in the Hamptons due to the location. It would be much easier for the gals to be able to return directly to NYC after the Boston show. Cindy Lee needs to make a flight at 9am Tues 8/12. The alternative, which I hope is agreeable to all, is that we're trying to arrange a show in NYC for 8/11. That way Cindy Lee can easily get to her Tues am flight and the travel time will be less. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it to the show until late (around 7 p.m.) because of work. When I got there I looked around and realized that I had no prayer of finding any EDA's -- way too crowded. My tickets were the general admission ones, so I was very far awar from Jewel (at the top near the back wall). Like you, I would have loved to hear Jessica, but didn't expect to hear it. Like you, I saw plenty of public displays of affection, very few of which involved men. The song before Dancing Barefoot was Down. I've had floods of positive e-mail on the JEWELry subject...I really enjoy reading everybody's ideas and stuff...I'd just like to publicly say that I want more ideas! I encourage you to send ideas, and no idea can be too generic, or lame-o! Please e-mail me privately and let me know your ideas...I have several people working on projects already, so lets hope we can work something out....take care joe goat@voyager.net ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 05 Aug 1997 12:29:06 PDT From: "Scott Miller" Subject: **NJC** this whole LP thing Dear Angels, Does anyone know the difference between the LP at CDNOW and the LP Double at B-Bop records. EH & CLB / CLB & EH were completely awesome both nights. They were both incredibly nice & cool. EH's set with the dulcimer outside @ R&T's was great, especially "Crazy Old Bitch." I was hoping she'd bring it out at Selena's but I guess she forgot. EH told me I had great eyes & good energy...I'm not sure if she meant physical energy or like karma. It was nice of her. CLB's sets were so vivacious...especially her little dance at R&T's. IT was great when CLB & EH were jumping on the trampoline with us (how'd those pic's come out Dennis) I just have some personal thank you's I'm going to make Paul-Thanks for taking Lauren & I there with you. You're so great man! Lauren-I had a good time with you in the car & thanks for checking to see if I was okay @ R&T's. Dennis-Thanks for being so welcoming. Sorry I missed you @ JewelStock & Bearsville. Did you get all the LRT song @ Selena's. I thought I saw you go "shit" or something. Bill-It was nice meeting you, sorry I missed you @ Bearsville Sarah-We got to meet again...tell your parents thanks again for me. Laura-It was fun riding in the car with you from R&T's to Selena's & talking about things. I look forward to spending time with you next year @ school. Give me your email address (next year's if you have it too) Rich M-I'm sorry I didn't get to spend much time with you & I'm sorry I hit you with that bottle. That little "ice toss" thing we were doing or whatever was great. Thirza & Linda-Next time...let people sleep. We'd all love to hear your renditions of WWSYS, YWMFM & Morning Song, but we're a better audience when we're awake :) Kim & Ali (sp?)- It was nice meeting you but I didn't get to spend much time with you...oh well, maybe next time. Steve-It was fun sitting with you while you played guitar @ Selena's. Steph(& friend)-You're poems were great! Thanks for calling me a "cutie." You weren't the only one that weekend who called me a "cutie." Accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative. Sorry I forgot your name "friend" but you were great too & I'm lousy with names. I wrote a poem or whatever a little over a month or 2 ago but I never posted it. It's depressing shit though & not very good either. If you'd like, I could post it. John(@ R&T's)-It was great meeting you & talking about Juliana Hatfield for those few minutes. We mainly just chuckled together though @ other people...great anyways though. John(@ Selena's)-Sorry I didn't get to meet you until the end. R&T&S&B&L&B-I'm thanking you on behalf of everyone. We all had a great time & not enough good can be said about you & the things you did for us & CLB & EH this weekend. Chris-Do you ever get off that aol. You were on there everytime I saw you. Akira-It was nice meeting you. & no, I wasn't drunk that's just how I am :) Rachel & Tom-You guys had the best seats @ R&T's & Thanks for gving me your seat Rachel (I'm sorry, I didn't sit in it though, I was on the floor, 2nd row) Russ & Jared-Nice meeting you, sorry I don't have much to say to you, but we didn't talk that much. I apologize profusely if I forgot someone. I know I am...but I just can't think of who. It's probably someone I spent quite a bit of time talking to also. Since when I wrote the letter I had been on the list for no more then an hour I didn't know it was inappropriate. I also didn't know that I would start a contraversy. So please don't argue about anything else I say on this list, and disreguard it, because I don't want to be responsable for breaking up the list. Just listen for my first, and last piece of advice. If someone says that they are new, please treat them as such. Don't yell at them and don't swear at them, please just tell them the rules in a private e-mail.
