No matter what time of day or night if you need me I am HERE for you... and don't let me EVER catch ANY of you saying nobody loves you because I DO!!!! I feel my dream coming true more and more all the time.. and if you all believe in yourselves, your dreams will come true, too.. We all have to work together to make a lifetime friendship... if we all stay together we can work together to help each others' dreams come true.. So here I am.. You're all probably thinking I'm crazy, and "Who IS this girl?!"...well you'll find out.. I'm sorry this post isn't organized at all.. I am not an organized person by ANY means. So, Courtney, here's a hand in your friendship ring. ******HAND****** All of those who love, all who care, join the ring... we're all here for each other... so reach out a hand to a friend, old, or new... Paula Cole is a upcoming singer/songer writer from Rockport, Mass. Growing up, she lived in a very artistic household , Her mother is a visual artist, while her father has paved a diverse career path by using his varied musical talents. Her dad a bassist in a polka band. She grew up listening to Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, and basically anything with real American standards. After High School, she attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she studied jazz singing and improvisation. After the release of her first album "HARBINGER". She toured with Pater Gabriel on his "Secret World Tour". After this this she toured with such greats as Mellissa Etheridge, Sting, and Sarah McLachlan. She appeared on Melissa Etheridges VH1 Duets Special with Jewel, Joan Osborne and Sophie B. Hawkins. Her lastest CD, "THIS FIRE" is one she produced herself, and lately you might have been lucky enough to see her perform at Lilith. Pretty soon she's starting an European Tour and in Oct/Nov she might start an US tour. And if you EVER get to see her in concert, it is a treat. She does a great cover of "Jolene" by Dolly Parton, Paula's self proclaimed idol. Paula Cole's music is very different from anything you've ever heard, which makes it so great. On her albums she plays the piano, the clarinet, and a BEATBOX. Her single "Where Have All The Cowboys Gone" has been very popular here in the US, and she just released a new single called "I Don't Wait to Wait." Paula Cole has two albums: "Harbinger" and "This Fire" both very different and very recommended for any CD collection. I agree with the people who are saying lay off the complainning & cutting down the posts(somewhere along the lines of that). Its just, sometimes the tree gets shaken & people don't know what to do & so they worry(I did for about 24 hours). For Mr.BB, Im glad he has gotten away from the stress, even if that is getting off the list for awhile(go take a vacation Alan, you deserve it). Enough from me...Oh, one more thing. This may or may not be taken as a dumb move. I sent a letter to Jewel. Mostly to say hi & I stuck in also that the list was in trouble. I don't know if she'll post anything. Free. August 1997 issue, 311 on the cover. There is an excellent article about "breaking new artists" in this magazine. There is more mention of Jewel and Sublime, but there are picutres. The picture of Poe is the usual one on the stairs with the lighter (however, there are no flames behind her) and the picture of Jewel is the usual one of her in a silver shirt with a blue background (there is a little more waste in this picture). The article is a good one, mainly on the industry, they even leave some parts of Jewel's out, and they surely could have said more about Poe, but you know how that goes. - -rusty ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 1 Aug 1997 03:34:32 -0700 (PDT) From: Arunsun Subject: MJC Re: where I was.... That is until a disheveled, smiling girl with a guitar completely took me away. I don't need to tell you how I felt about her music, her presence, her outlook, her kindness....that's why we're all here.My only regret is that I only left a dollar for all that she had bathed my heart in that night. We left soon after her set as I was filled with to much to sit around anymore. I live nearly two hours away and I knew that I'd never probably hear of her again. It was nearly a year later, upon driving myself home from Comic-con,that I caught that voice again on a San Diego Radio station . That voice and light that I had relegated to the serendiptous meeting corner of my mind was back, and that joy filled me.All the idle curiousity/worry about that skinny little girl was washed away. It mostly talks of Sarah McLachlan (I forgot how to spell it), and most of the quotes come from her and Jill Sobule. There's only reference to Jewel in that she's touring with them. And it refers to her as "populist folkie Jewel". Anyway, there is a nice picture of her. It's the one with the 55 shirt. Have a nice day, Angels!! Peace, Priscilla. It is located about twenty to thirty minutes outside of Augusta Ga on the Savannah River. it has plenty of camping and camper areas located aroung the lake as well as swimming and boating areas. It is perfect for what we plan on doing. As I said before, just let either Paul or me know if you would like to come and if you can drive or cannot. Thank you and Godspeed. I sent this yesterday and it didn't show up on the list. Hi everyone! I have a few completly unconnected things to say so bear with me. Let me put a quick diclaimer on this post: I have been on vacaion on and off all summer so I am a bit out of the list circle and don't know all that much about what has been going on recently. So if I repeat an old question I sincerly apologize. First of all does anyone know where we can get the "new" POY album? I have been looking and all the stores so far have said that they don't have it. Go figure. I would be really greatful if anyone could help. Ok, next comment: I read a post about some cds circling that were taken from our special Jewel cassette recordings. I was wondering if these cds could possiably be those cds or if they are legit: DDDELIGHT DICKWEED PRODUCT and UNPLUGGED COOL DADDY PRODUCT? If any of you fellow angels run across these cds I urge you to not buy them so we can do our part for Jewel and stop these people from ripping off innocent Jewel fans. My last (and I promise quick) concern is about our list trouble. I, as many others love this list to pieces. There is always someone there if I need support or have questions. Through this list I have found some very special friendships and together we have helped give back to others such as the blood drive and the JKP trust. This list is special so please everyone let's stick together and save the list. I love you all! :) Sarah <3 ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 1 Aug 1997 14:32:48 -0400 (EDT) From: JonBoy911@aol.com Subject: Re: JC and NJC: The moment the music got me In a message dated 97-08-01 12:29:31 EDT, AESTHETE99@aol.com writes: << My question is: Where were you? >> I had POY for awhile by this time. I knew I liked Jewel, but I never really paid all that much attention to her. I mean I played her all the time....I went to bed to that album, because it was so melodic and comforting. Then one day I was very upset, I don't even remember what for, and then on my CD player Foolish Games starts up. I never realized how beautiful it was. I cried, but not because of my problems, but because of the voice, and the conviction that Jewel sang with. And this song brings tearss to my eyes whenever I hear it. I then heard songs I was always asleep during, I listened to the CD 3 full times that evening. That is when I heard it. That is when I connected to this Alaskan girl and her amazing vocal range, and what eventually ked to you all. See, I know this list will survive, because nothing bad could come out of this experience. I have poems from EDAs on my website, because of this list. The poem that I love the most on my page is one that I have by Jonders. You all have read it. He wrote it for his girlfriend after they broke up. That was one of my first days here, and I was in awe of how somebody could love and trust all these faceless names. Then I realized to alot of people some of these names have faces. I love you all, and I have never met you, and whenever I hear Jewel I think of you all. I pray for each and everyone of you, so don't worry about the list, and put it in God's hands for now. I love you all, JonBoy911 ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V2 #619 ***************************
