   No ,  Jewel shouldn't do a punk anthem. If she wants to , well ... let
her ; but let me say that sounds like a bad idea . Jewel will become trendy
and fake ... hell , punk has self-defeated itself in the 90's . The idea of
Jewel punking out to tunes of the Sex Pistols will put her more on a level
of Pop icon , and this may lead to the disinbowevement of her profound
writting . Jewel is becoming more of an household name that I've ever
imagined , and there is nothing wrong with this ; except this attention
will create a bigger sector in the audience that isn't interested in
content or music , but in appearance and pop-stardum.  I think Jewel will
transcend into something that she never wanted to transcend into...

   i'm not bitter , and I don't want to keep Jewel hidden from the eyes of
the masses . Hell, I ended that mission a year and half ago. Now I just
want to see her career to stay with it's feet in the ground so that nothing
like Beck happens to her.

Your right!  What kind of angel would suggest that we deceive people in
that way.  And he has the nerve to call himself SuPeRdEfOrMeD aNgEl? 
It's time we do somthing about this.  He has been warned before.  Let me
take a look in the book of rules for being an EDA.  Lets see; I found
it.  This is what it says we should do.

"....and all the men of his city shall stone him with stones that he
die."(21:18-21)

What do you think, lets just stone him to death!  It says so right here
in the book.  I think it sounds a little harsh but it says so right here
in the Book of Rules for being an EDA.  Woops!  I looked in the wrong
book.  I was looking in the Bible.  It was right next to my Book of
Rules for being an EDA.  Well let me take another look in the Book of
Rules.  Well I looked through the whole book and it doesn't make any
mention of EDA deception.  I even looked under the chapter called, "For
Angels Only."  Another chapter I looked under was Stars.  There was no
mention of *67.  It only talked about one star. It can't be.  I know I
agree with you.  I must have read it somewhere.  Found it!  It's in my
favorite book, The Book of Common Sense.  But you don't even have to be
an EDA to know that rule.  Now that I know that he should have known
better, I say be go back to the first idea and just kill him.

You know, before we do anything, maybe we better check with Mike first. 
He knows all the rules.  After all, He wrote the Book.

 The show would be in Philadelphia, at a place called Tower Theatre... or
anyplace like it.  It used to be an old theatre, and still has the balcony,
and every seat, no matter how far away you are has a decent view because the
floors slope down towards the stage.
 I don't know the order, but I would like the show to be a decent length, and
while the other bands performed jewel could sit with me in my private booth :

 In seriousness though... that would be one of my dream concerts... the PG

Subject: Tall Tales From Bearsville - Part 1 of 4

Gather 'round all who wish to hear the wonderful tale of the goings
on at the legendary place called Bearsville, or more exactly, Steve's
Campground, that took place many, many moons ago. Okay, it was last
weekend. But it was really, really fun. :)

It started off when I got there Thursday before anyone else decided to,
and ended Sunday when everyone left. Really, it did. It would've been
stupid if it started Thursday when everyone left, and ended Sunday when
I got there, wouldn't it? In between Thursday and Sunday, lots of people
decided to show up. In no particular order, they were Rob and Tammy,
their children, Ahmetia and Katerina, Dennis, Crunch, Ali, Alan, Mike,
Akira, Laura M, Laura T, Lauren, Rich, Mykle, Tom M, Tom O, Tom P, Kim,
Jared, Steve, Stephanie, Kelly, Abel, Albert, Bill, Kat and her dad,
Rachel, Erica, Jon, Sarah, Tegan, Jen, Chris, Joshua, Linda, Carl, John,
Amy, Ted, Kendrick and Pete.

People started rolling in around Friday until Saturday night, when Kat
arrived with her dad after driving into Bearsville, getting lost,
driving back home an hour the other way to get the directions, then
driving back to Steve's and getting an earful from Dennis the whole
time, while being exposed to EDAs drinking beer, being fresh with each
other, and hearing poetry. That's always good, isn't it?

Friday was a hoot. In fact, it was so much fun, it's a total blur in my
mind. Tammy was her usual EDA Mommy self, making food for people and
making sure that people were okay, while making sure her kids weren't
getting into trouble, cause Rob was off talking to people, or chopping
wood, or getting lost in the forest. Take your pick. They all happened.
At least he didn't stumble into the stream and have it's current take
him all the way to Cape Cod, cause that's what happened last year.

But rest assured, everything was hunky dory at Steve's on Friday with
people mainly coming in, greeting each other, and getting settled for
the madness that would be Saturday. Unfortunately, getting settled only
lasts as long as Dennis is not around, and he and Chris rumbled into the
campsite in the middle of night, like the good angels they are: Angels
of Sleep Deprivation.

Soon, the sun came up, though, signaling a whole new day, much to the
chagrin of the campers who wanted a little more sleep...like 12 hours or
so. Oh well. Tough cookies.

So, Tammy made breakfast for anyone who would eat it. It was an
all-natural buffet of tree leaves, worms, bug larve, and of course,
bugs. Mmmmm...bugs. Don't you love the way crunch in your mouth? Don't
you love the way Crunch crunches in your mouth? Don't worry, we didn't
eat Mark...we just nibbled on him a bit. Heh heh. Besides, it was hard
to get close to him, cause he'd stab you with those sideburns of his. If
I hadn't cut my hair, I could've whipped him crazy with my hair, but
alas, we could only get a nibble.

After breakfast, some people decided to go into town while others stayed
at the campsite to commune with nature, or just because they were
anti-social.

In town, we visited a psychic who was overwhelmed by all the goodness
that radiated from us...or the smell from 30 campers that hadn't
showered for two days. Some more so than others. Either way, the whole
town loved us, gave us the town key, and renamed Bearsville to EDA Town,
which eventually became the Edaton it is today. Of course, the
townspeople demanded that we pay them $10,000 to replace all the road
signs with the new town name, but like all angels, we took off back to
the refuge of the campsite, where Saturday arrivals finally arrived.
"You mean the arrivals didn't *depart*?" "Shut up!" *bonk*

We all arrived to a desolate campsite. No one was around. Had Jewel, the
EDA stalker, claimed her first victims of the weekend? Had a giant
beast-man slaughtered them all? Was "Steve's Campground" really "Jason
and Freddie's Really Fun Place To Stay"? Had they all gone into the
woods to go to the bathroom? Well, no sooner had we stepped into the
inner circle of the campground, we were barraged by water guns,
water-filled balls, and other instruments of destruction!

Instinctively, I whipped out my handy rocket launcher and took out the
line of trees in the direction the attack had come from. The explosion
blew Dennis apart, with his foot somehow landing in his mouth, so I said
to him, "Looks like you put your foot in your mouth, huh Dennis?" And
next to him was a mommy and baby deer that both died. I tried mouth to
mouth resuscitation to the mommy deer to no avail. I then tried it on
the baby deer, and miraculously, it was revived! So, I said "Mommy deer,
dead. Baby deer, alive! MOMMY DEER, DEAD! BABY DEER ALIVE!" 

Suddenly, Ted became the Tedinator, and Kendrick became KendriCop, and
laid down some heavy firepower in retaliation. Chris threw a couple of
footballs with blazing speed at them, but they were too high, and missed
them completely. Finally, sick of it all..."Sick Of It All showed up?"
"NO! Shut up and let me finish!"...sick of it all, Jen and Stephanie got
into the middle and shouted "STOP IT! Love each other!". So, we all made
up, and Priestess Amy the Blue Llama used her healing powers to fully
heal Dennis and bring him back to life. I apologized for making that
foot comment, and he only replied, "Bleh. What's that taste in my
mouth?"

Not satisfied with the outcome, Tegan squeezed a ball of water down my
back to get me back for getting her wet when she wasn't looking earlier.
"Hey! Stop thinking that!" Then we decided to play a safe game of war by
throwing water-filled balls at each other in the creek. Dennis, Tom P,
and I played Chris, Bill, and Albert to draw while Tegan videotaped us
frolicking madly. The sun had disappeared behind some clouds, and we
were getting cold getting all wet, but that's okay. If we got pneumonia
and died, then Amy could heal us again.

Subject: Tall Tales From Bearsville - The Final Chapter

Dennis then tried to get people to play Bocce (sp?) while I took
pictures of people all around the campsite. Everyone would give me the
finger when I took a picture of them. I'm not sure if that was their
pose or if they were trying to tell me something.

Then we proceeded to take a group picture with only one camera. Everyone
was there, and whoever the camera belonged to promised to make enough
copies for everyone. So, it was a pretty quick group picture, which gave
us enough time to play baseball.

Baseball was fun. Erica slid into first base halfway there. It's amazing
what momentum can do, isn't it? Even with all those rocks and pebbles in
the way. Team Harris didn't even cheat this time. It was truly a
miracle.

Soon, it got dark, and we got hungry, so we made burgers and hot dogs
over the fire. For some reason, the smoke went straight up and didn't
get into anyone's eyes. Think it has something to do with heat rising.
Everyone must have eaten at least 2 hamburgers and 3 hot dogs each. Hey,
being an angel makes you hungry. After digesting it all, we all made a
vow not to drink any alcohol that night. Then I passed around the
tequila bottle I had opened at Lizstock. Stephanie took a giant swig
that started her on her downward spiral to cursing in Gaelic, Italian,
French, and German. Weird, coming from a Greek girl. Carl swallowed the
worm, suffered delusions of grandeur, and kept telling us that he knew
how to fix the hyper drive on the Millenium Falcon.

Everyone just chilled around the fire talking, singing songs, listening
to private studio sessions of the Spice Girls, and Stephanie reading
poetry. We all decided to start singing Jewel songs, but no one could
remember the words. Oh well. So, Akira and Alan and Amy came back from
their beer run, and we all gave him lots of praise and thanks, and
started drinking some more. Out of the two kegs, we were able to finish
one and a half of them, and put the rest into the fire to make it burn
brighter, higher, faster, hotter!!! MUHAHAHAHAHA!!!

After we danced around the fire for a bit, we decided it was a good time
to go to sleep, since the sun would be up in two hours. So we all went
to sleep, or tried to. Dennis went through some weird transformations
all through the night into various animals. Amy couldn’t sleep because
she kept getting fur in her face. Chris couldn’t sleep cause Amy kept
kicking him. Crunch couldn’t sleep cause Dennis was making noises. Ali
couldn’t sleep cause Crunch wouldn’t go to sleep. Jon couldn’t sleep
cause Ali wouldn’t go to sleep. Stephanie couldn’t sleep cause she was
drunk. Kim couldn’t sleep cause Stephanie kept calling her names in
various languages. Steve couldn’t sleep cause he was in awe at the
beautiful tent he was in. Tegan couldn’t sleep cause Dennis was making
noises. Jen couldn’t sleep cause she didn’t want to leave the next day.
Tom P could sleep fine. Rich couldn’t sleep cause Tom P kept snoring.
Laura M couldn’t sleep cause she could hear Tom P snoring. Sarah
couldn’t sleep cause Laura M kept making comments about Tom P’s snoring.
Bill couldn’t go to sleep cause he kept tickling Lauren’s feet. Lauren
couldn’t go to sleep cause Bill kept tickling her feet. Jared couldn’t
sleep cause he kept drinking. Pete couldn’t drink cause Jared kept
drinking. John couldn’t sleep cause Dennis was making noises. Albert
couldn’t sleep cause John kept telling Dennis to "Shut Up!" Linda
couldn’t sleep cause the rocks kept digging into her back. Tom M
couldn’t sleep cause Linda kept complaining about the rocks digging into
her back. Tom O passed out. Rachel couldn’t sleep cause she kept trying
to wake Tom O. Kelly couldn’t sleep cause Dennis was making noises.
Laura T couldn’t sleep cause Kelly kept complaining that Dennis was
making noises. I couldn’t sleep cause Laura T kept complaining that
Kelly was complaining that Dennis was making noises. Abel was sound
asleep. Mike and Akira were bastards and sleep at the Pinecrest.

Either way, not too many people got much sleep. Then in the morning it
was extremely cold. It was so cold, that if you took a shower, you had
icicles hanging from parts of your body that you didn’t want icicles to
hang from!

After much bellyaching, snuggling,  hugging, talking, passing, and
packing, we finally decided to leave Steve’s campsite. Amy the Priestess
called up the Winds of Cleanliness to blow all of our garbage into the
garbage bags we had set up. It was amazing the power the Blue Llama had.

We then went to the Diner From Hell, where the worst angels were served
last. But that was okay, because angels served last don’t leave tips.
Heh heh. Then after much sobbing and crying, goodbyes were said to those
who would accompany the rest of us to the giant Kaleidascope a bit down
the road.

Those who could go, went to the giant Kaleidascope and walked in for
free to see lots of pretty colors and hear lots of lovely sounds. We had
so much fun, we went in three times! Woo hoo! In fact, we all got
together and took the giant Kaleidascope home with us, so it would
become a permanent fixture at all EDA gatherings, just like this blue
guitar has become. I don’t know where anyone got it, but it’s really
cool. It’s got these stars on it and stuff.

Finally, we all had to go home, or else our bosses would fire us if we
didn’t show up at work the next day. Geez, what good is it being an
angel if you have to work? Oh well. Gotta pay the rent, eh? So, after
many long goodbyes, we finally got into our own cars and went home.
Although Chris decided that he had had enough abuse from Dennis, and
took off in Dennis’ car and left him there stranded in the parking lot.
But this kind man named Hitchhiker Joe offered Dennis a ride, and Dennis
got in. Hope Dennis got home safely.

And that was it! Now, wasn’t that something you all wished you had
attended? Then you better make it next year. Make your plans now. Same
Bat time. Same Bat channel.

Subject: NJC: Think, DON'T React (ie, Cut Your Fellow Angel Some Slack)

It seems that some folks are a bit tense on this list lately. Take the 
posts with a grain of salt, okay? Look for the humor, and don't be so 
damn quick to jump on each other. Christ, it's only a movie, guys. Munch 
some popcorn and enjoy the trailers for coming attractions. Jewel will 
come on eventually. (Her face is everywhere nowadays!)

This list is a "safe harbor" in a world that largely gives not a damn for 
anyone nor tends to cut anyone much slack. I've met between 350-400 of 
these EDAs face-to-face, and they ARE worth cutting a little slack. One 
bit of good advice I've dispensed over the past year and a half is as 
follows:

WHEN YOU GET THE URGE TO POST (and especially when you REPLY to someone 
else's "boneheaded, 
how-stupid-can-they-be-and-still-be-able-to-walk-and-drool-at-the-same-time
 post"), TRY THIS: save the draft and WAIT 24 HOURS before you hit the 
SEND button. I guarantee you will never send 90% of your flames and you 
might even think of something witty to add to the other 10%. And if the 
other person wisely does the same thing, you'll be flamed less as well! 
(Or at least receive more entertaining flames!)   ;-)

ALSO, if the loose mail version of the list irritates you so much (as it 
did me for all of THREE days), switch to the digest version. Then all the 
stuff you don't want to read will be already balled up, ready for you to 
throw away (delete)...

Let's keep the anger and stress outside this harbor, okay? (It scares the 
ducks.) Thanks for the ear, angels.

Subject: ATTN: Atlanta LIlith Fair Goers/Rain in atlanta!

Hopefully the rains will be gone by the time next Friday rolls around! We
always seem to get the last litte remnants of any hurricane that rips
through the southeastern part of the US.

I know I promised details for yesterday, but I haven't been home in a
couple of days due to the rain (Sugarfoot (my car) tends to hydroplane
when it drizzles...so with all the storms she's been a real bitch to
drive) and I haven't been able t get to a computer either. ( I worked a
double at the "B and B" in Buckhead (BTW if you can afford $85 to $105 a
night you should stay there for the fair...shameless plug alert!!!) so I'm
coming drowsily off a 16 hour shift (11pm to 3pm)) 

So, here's the deal. 

As you may have read on an earlier post from Rusty we are meeting at
Felini's Pizza on Howell Mill Rd at 12:00 noon on the
day of the fair. If you cannot make it at noon RSVP by next Tuesday to my
account or to <agentorange2@juno.com> up until the day before the show and
we will hold a place for you at the restaraunt. In the subject of the
email write "Felini's" in the body of the email write 1)your name 2) where
you are coming from, and 3) if you will join the EDA's at Felini's. Also
include 4)the time you will be there if it differs from 12. With this
information I can call Felinis' ahead of time and give them some warning
about a group reservation. Also, the check for the pizza and a coke
usually runs around $5 dollars. We can decide when we get there if we want
to order whole pizzas together or by the slice.
