Kay, I'll repeat myself... My position has *ALWAYS* been (and you can read over any of my last posts to see this) that piracy is wrong...mass taping is somethign I would not do...I'm talking about taping a CD for a friend or fellow EDA who can't afford it...It's that simple. End of Story. I don't make a business or a practice out of it... This is why it's kind of frstrating when people refuse to understand this and get their panties in a wad about it... And if Jewel *really* was (and I'm only saying this because i know she's not) upset about an EDA taping a CD for a fellow money-strapped EDA, then she is NO kind of angel after all, but rather a little puppet of the corporate machine with dollar signs in her pretty little eyes...And we all know she's not...If Jewel was ever going to raise a stink about a few pennies of royalty for the sake of sharing her music(and yes, that is what we re talking about her...a few pennies, if *that*) then I would officially turn in my EDA wings right now... Ok guys...time is nearing...and we have 9 people that will be arriving tonight (Friday)! I am expecting around 23 people thus far! Should be lots of fun! As stated before, we will meet between the Lifeguard Towers numbered 2 and 3 right next to the bathrooms. Call with any problems! Oh, and can anyone give a ride from LA? CJ needs a ride (plante@earthlink.net)! Can't wait to see everyone! Remember, we have FARR in town from Oklahoma, and PHIL in from CanEDA! And, if anything...we can all get in line to kiss Igor! Be sure to bring surfboards and (god forbid) sponges (boogie boards) for those of you kooks that do that! LOL! Just kidding! See you all around 10:00 AM! I got an advertisement today for the WEB magazine (2 free issues) which rotated a few cover pictures in their ad, one of which was Jewel's cover from the July issue. I was wondering if any other Juno e-mail users have received this advertisement...it would probably depend on how you filled out the questionaire form when you first subscribed. I just thought it was pretty neat to see Jewel's face pop up on my Juno screen when I went to check my e-mail. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 11 Jul 1997 20:26:47 -0500 From: Jessica Subject: LILITH FAIR!!!!!!!!!! I wrote this in April of '97: *LUCK* i sit in pools of darkened light, shone down from the face of the moon. he looks down on me and winks. he knows what i'm thinking, he wishes me luck. little white dots twinkle at me, smiling faces making jokes. they know what i'm feeling, they wish me luck. the tiny little bug, glows from inside. he lands on my bare shoulder. he whispers in my ear. he knows what i want. he wishes me luck. the sweet cool breeze, washes over my face. she steals my thoughts. she knows what i'm dreaming. she wished me luck. i stare at the ground, spinning before me. it keeps me happy. it keeps me sane. it keeps me wishing. it wishes me luck. by sarah(a EDA and Jewel fan for life) Well i hope at least some people enjoy that!!!!! Strange, huh? Not really, since she is famous and famous people usually are pictured on magazine covers. *s* Peace, Jessica ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 11 Jul 1997 22:10:41 -0400 From: Joshua Baummer Subject: Is that all 40? Come on!!! Hello all EDA's, Good evening how are you all tonight? I just checked the Bearsville'97 website and it says it has last been updated July 8th but still last time I checked there are 1300+ EDA's right now. OK, I though so EVERYONE all 1300+ of us. Now I know the list has not been updated yet but I myself am going and want to put-a-face to these wonderful EDA's that are on this wonderful list that Jeff has for us all(Thanks Jeff). So if I am just jumping the gun OR if alot of EDA's are not going go ahead and E-mail Mark(Crunch)(give me a nestle crunch bar)! Sorry!,or Sheph(Read me so more of that beutiful poetry!)Sorry again! Tegan ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 11 Jul 1997 21:17:57 -0500 From: Ashe Mayfair Subject: Rockfest on VH1 Thre was a Rockfest segment on Access Hollywood (wich heavely featured Jewel) and at the end of it they said that Vh1 would be airing Rockfest this weekend. So I looked at the VH1 web page and found an article on Rockfest and this was there about the show: "Naturally, VH1's TV crews were there to capture Rock Fest for posterity. The concert airs on VH1 July 13 at 7 PM, in the middle of our Live Music Marathon. Plus, watch for special Texas editions of the Top 10 Countdown Across America to air July 22-24, starring VH1's own John Fugelsang, and cool actresses Janine Turner and Daphne Zuniga." Anyone have more info on this? And also, any ideas what time zone that would be in? As far as the Access Hollywood segment: Jewel was the only artist that they had any interview segments with. She said that she liked playing in big places like the speedway but also like preforming in little coffee shops and it glad that she isn't restricted to just one. - -Ashe Mayfair: The Longshot Angel ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 11 Jul 1997 23:41:33 -0400 From: David McCluskey <6djm@qlink.queensu.ca> Subject: Re: Tape Bag Was there really only 3 people interested.
