The idea is of this. Open with a fade in to a pretty girl,(borrowing from the words of the song) who is dressed in a plain white/pearl colored dress. On different sections of her body, are different black and white films playing. Each part of the song is pictured. Mind you Jewel is not physically shown at all during the shoot. Only her beautiful voice is softly being heard throughout the video. As each section comes up, ie. with the jewish verse, the video zooms into the b&w film of the holocaust. As the film goes into theeach different verse, the video fades and zooms to each of the different b&w films playing on the girl's body dealing with each of the verses in the song. Idea is to show that each is a part of you. From another point of view is to fade in and out from the girl's eyes which show the different pictures in the same format except through the girl's eyes. Let me know what you think and if you can understand what I am trying to say. Thank you for listening. Just my 2 cents. Men in Black -- Kind of a letdown after all of the hype, but still entertaining all throughout. Breaks little new ground, but the Tommy Lee Jones / Will Smith team work quite well. B+. Face/Off -- Superb. The best film of the summer by far (so far). One of the finest jobs of editing and directing I have ever seen, with these deliriously violent scenes meshed with stunning images of beauty (one example: a little boy listens to "Over the Rainbow" on earphones during a particularly bloody shootup). Travolta is the best he's been (by far) since Pulp Fiction, Cage has only been better in Leaving Las Vegas, and Joan Allen (as the wife) gives a richly emotionaly performance. A supremely moving film that is unlike any action film I have ever seen in its opera-like sequences and sublime beauty. A gem. A. My Best Friend's Wedding -- Fun stuff. Julia Roberts is excellent, Cameron Diaz is to die for, and Rupert Everett is a scene-stealer. Roberts gives her most charismatic performance ever, and makes an unlikeable character the heroine of the film. The only real complaint is the complete lack of chemistry between Roberts and fratboy Dermot Mulroney. She didn't even seem to love him; she was just worried that life was passing her by. This is okay, but perhaps it isn't as great a film as it could have been. A-/B+. Con Air -- Dippy action film that breaks absolutely no new ground, but still has fine performances from villains John Malkovich, Ving Rhames, and others. But the whole concept of the film is just stupid -- would anyone in their right mind want to risk that plane crash landing in Las Vegas? The second worst film I've seen this summer, and Cage has never been more annoying (looking like a cross between Jesus and Rambo, with a bad accent to boot). C-. Batman and Robin -- Totally annoying sequel that pales in comparison to all the others. The villains are poorly portrayed, particularly Arnold Schwartneggar's Mr. Freeze, and we aren't allowed to enjoy to fine performances given by the good guys -- George Clooney makes the best Batman yet, but his screentime is depressingly small. Loud, overblown, cheesy. D+. Speed 2 -- Not as bad as you've heard, and far better than Con Air or Batman and Robin. Not as grand as the original, but Jan De Bont again manages to make an unlikely transportation device (a cruise ship) fine fodder for action. Jason Patric is fine as the daring cop, Sandra Bullock is again appealing. Nothing new here, but some fine scenes (a ship crashing into a small seaside town; Patric trying to rig the propellor of the ship) that shouldn't be missed. B-. The Lost World: Jurassic Park -- You've surely heard plenty about this, so I'll just say this: I liked it, at times it was spellbinding, and dinosaurs are always cool. B+. that's it. have fun. - -- Mark A. I loved your reviews! I almost completely agree! Except I think My Best Friend's Wedding deserves a better rating :). I liked it so much, I guess partly because I was going through a similar sort of situation when I saw it the first time. The ending wasn't happy, but it wasn't conventional either; it was truthful...what would've happened realistically. Rupert Everett was hilarious! I have to say I liked Con Air a little bit more than you did. Living in Alabama I kind of got pissed at the accent he obviously didn't work on much, but I thought everyone else did a really good job. You failed to mention Steve Buscemi in your review, so I thought I'd add that he was AWESOME! I don't think I would've liked it if he weren't in it. And finally someone else who liked George Clooney as Batman :). I thought he did a really good job with what was given him. Speed 2 was the first movie I saw this summer, and I liked it until it got to the part when they were heading to St. Martin/St. Maarten. I used to live on the French side of the island when I was a little bit younger, and I have to say that their portrayal of the port was rather comical :). I went to see it with my mother and we had a good laugh. The port where all the cruise ships dock is on the Dutch side of the island, and not *nearly* as pretty as it looked. That's kind of an understatement. But we had a good laugh. The leeches were pretty scary. - -JC ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 8 Jul 1997 00:39:13 -0400 (EDT) From: Romeo1753@aol.com Subject: Small Angel Needs Help Dear fellow Angels, This is my first post and right now I'm really hoping this is the right adress. I'm am a new angel and I really need some guidence, but I would really like some help. I'm am male, but I'm a Jewel "wanna be". I love to sing and play like her. I don't have any bootlegs, or lost songs. I've never been to a concert, and I probably don't belong on this list, but I love Jewel. Now on to the help, as I said I sing and play Jewel stuff. I would really like your opinion on a song that I do. It's nothing special. It's my version of Foolish Games, me on the piano and singing. I'm quite proud of it. I have recorded my song to a wav. I would greatly, greatly appreciate it if you would e-mail me if you would like a copy of the song *Via E-mail*. It's free, and not a hassle to download. I love Jewel more than anyone, I have sworn to myself, I will never fill the space I have for Jewel in my heart. She holds a special place there, and I try to release her through my songs, poetry, and way of life. So Angels, let's see you guys in action.
