Anyway, Painters came on (and I don't know if anyone has ever noticed this, but...), about 5:50 into the song, I could have sworn I heard a digital watch go off. All right, I'm a relatively NewBDA, and ever since joining I have been trying to really figure out this EDA Foundation thing. Almost every post I have read (or tried to read) has been filled with visions of what should happen, what could happen, why should have happened but didn't, etc. This has made it difficult to see what's going on. The following statements I have gleaned from the many posts. I submit them 1. The EDAF will be separate from EDAs. Members of one need not necessarily be members of the other. 2. The EDAF will be an official not-for-profit organization. 3. The EDAF will concern itself mostly with coordinated acts of kindess, ones that require more than the normal amount of funds, dedication, organization. Random acts will be left to individuals within or without the foundation. 4. The EDAF currently has the very broad mission statement of "mending ills and restoring hope in the community." 5. The embryonic EDAF is currently involved in raising money for the James P. Kalanick (sp) Trust. Can this be the start of a thread of statement (ideally facts) that can give the abstract idealism of other threads and posts some context? Kneep! Don't take bullshit; don't throw bullshit; don't drown in all the bullshit. ------------------------------ End of jewel-digest V2 #505 ***************************
