Just in time for summer gatherings and telling tales of the old days (like the New Years' Eve party with 4,000 EDAs (by Jewel's count)!! ;-) ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 27 May 1997 00:55:45 -0400 (EDT) From: DevonFox97@aol.com Subject: Re: Jewel on Hard Rock Live hi... i'm not sure if i'm doing this right.. this is my first time to try it. anyway, my name's kristen, i'm 17 and i live (till this summer) in escondido, ca. for non-californians, that's about 30 minutes from downtown san diego if you drive fast. anyway, i have only seen jewel twice because when she was singing at the innerchange i was like 14 or something and had no transportation. of course, as soon as i have access to rides, she becomes a celebrity =) that really sucks... but i went to her san diego concert at ucsd a few weeks ago, and stayed after with my friend who had passes. i got to meet jewel and the rugburns. jeff (stinky) was the only one we really hung out with, but the other guys were cool too. steve is a god =). but i have a question for all you locals (and non-locals) who have met or know jewel... has she incredibly changed? she was nice, but in a very distanced sort of way. i was hoping she'd be so friendly and outgoing or at least humble, but i was sort of disapointed. please don't bash me- she's still my favorite singer (or one of them), but i've started thinking it's going to her head.which is natural i guess, just disapointing... any thoughts?
