Just one more reason for you all to make it. So far we had thought that the bands at the tailgate party were going to be local bands but it looks like they will all be big names. I know that Toad the Wet Sprocket will be there on Friday and should find out some more this week. We have some cool stuff inthe works and need some info from you all who are planning on going. I know that some people would like to go and have their names on the list to be their but we need for all who are still planning on making it to RSVP me that they are still coming. This will help Derrick, Christina, Angela and I have an idea of the accomadations that we need to make for sleeping and who all still needs rides. It would be great if we could get people to ride together that are coming from long distances, maybe rent a van and that way it would be cheaper and everyone gets to know each other better, after all thats the fun of it =) We can take care of the travel arrangements if everyone can E me and let us know what days you are planning on being their and what kind of travel schedule you are looking at. I hope to see you all their, it is going to be one GREAT SUMMER =) Love you Guys, Farr PS, if there are more people going that I didn't CC above please E me as well. Is Jewel great or what?!? She took the time to talk to one of her fans! I love her! =) You're sooo lucky, Paul! Mark - --- Inside my heart there's an empty room. I see into her soul But for an instant. She speaks, My ears absorb the melody Of her voice, And I'm at peace. She laughs, And my heart skips a beat, I know not a sound, A tone half so sweet. She cries, And I cry too For I can't stand to see her mourn. Her eyes light up and she smiles again, Her happiness and mine reborn. She dies, I die with her For my life is but a mishap Without her. - -by Chris Potter email me with comments/suggestions! There was an EDA get-together at the Great Adventure which happens to be in New Jersey! I can't believe i missed it - i just joined yesterday... Darn... Well, it's really cool because Great Adventure is where a lot of my friends work and i haven't seen them in so long. Are there going to be any more gatherings in NJ? preferably this weekend maybe because all my plans for this weekend fell through and i don't get to see the person i planned them with until monday, instead of friday. ttyl Glad to be an EDA, linda :) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 21 May 1997 21:12:58 -0700 From: Victor Igor Wasylczenko Subject: Massive West Coast EDA Gathiering STARRY NIGHT - A Night Under the Stars The theme of this gathering is based on the famous painting by Vincent van Gogh. For those of you that are not familiar with the painting, let me describe it. It is a scene of a village. The painting has a turbulent night sky. But through the storm you can see beautiful bright stars lighting the angry night. One star is brighter than the rest. It is the star of a hope for tomorrow. That star must be Jewel Kilcher (jewel of the north). In order to celebrate a hope for a brighter tomorrow, we need to take this event outdoors. We need to be in the fresh clean ocean air far from cities, highways and the masses. The clear night sky will be presented to us like a van Gogh painting. Our host for the night will be a secret location. But let me start you all guessing this mystery location. It is in California. To make it convenient to as many people as possible, a spot half way between San Diego and San Francisco has been picked. Major highways are close but far enough away to not distract. Two airports are very close but only one will allow us to fly in. It is a beach but it is hidden from the world by a mountain. It sits between two mountains and forms a private cove. Do any of you like the theater. Do you like cabbage. If we don't feed our selves, Jocko will. This isn't rocket science. Just look at a map and start guessing. Where will we stay? On the beach in tents or sleeping bags. Some of you may bring a camper or a van and can stay close by. The few that are willing to miss the sounds of seal and whales and splashing surf can stay at one of several local motels. The last time I stayed there, my son and I camped on this half mile beach all alone. And it was free. We had a huge bonfire and the steaks never tasted better at any restuarant. When? We need your input. July 10th was picked as a possible date since so many will be at Lilith Fair in Irvine Meadows. Who's idea is this? It has been totally concieved and planned by me and Sinjin. We are going to make an exploritory trip and take some pictures and get them posted to a web site. In order to pull this off we will need some help. More info soon. There is not a time limit or deadline on them. The raffle was closed a few days ago. That was necessary in order to have a drawing. The JPK Trust drive was started as a birthday gift for Jewel, but it is not limited to that. Nor is it exclusively for EDAs. It was begun before the EDAS were made aware of it. We merely chose to become a part of it! =) The JPK Trust is an ongoing account, open to help James with his ongoing financial necessitites. Everyone, please feel free to give to this fund as you see fit for an indefinite amount of time! James will truly appreciate and utilize every cent! =) Step by step, here is how to make your donation: Address a check to: James Paul Kalanick Trust In the memo postion of the check write the account number like this: Acct# 6671946366 Post the check in an envelope addressed to: James Paul Kalanick Trust Wells Fargo Bank 1302 Garnet Ave San Diego, CA, 92109 =) Please forward any questions that you have to an account set up for this project at . ALSO, to keep our own tally of the contributions, PLEASE send an email to AFTER you have sent your check stating how much you sent. Liz, is keeping our efforts updated from this address. =) We have made an incredible effort in our gifts to James and his needs. This effort was led in no small part by Igor, who selfessly and energeticly poured his time and heart into The JPK Raffle. Igor has set an example for all of us in his efforts by taking a personal interest not in the JPK Trust, but in James himself. So, I want to take this opportunity to shameless give my thanks and appreciation to Igor: I love you, man!!! You rock!! =) My thanks also to everyone that gave. Thank you! =) Be an Angel Every Day! =) Crunch! ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 21 May 1997 23:57:09 -0600 (CST) From: pwmielech@stthomas.edu Subject: Gregory Page recording Did I read that someone taped the Gregory Page show at Java Joes for the JPK thing?
