Ok, since no one else has mentioned this. I have to ask WHY is Jewel saying at her concerts to call radio stations and "request 'Foolish Games' as it will be my next single" when: 1) It's been previously announced that she'll re-record it in *May* after she's done with the European gig 2) Radio stations ONLY possible copies at hand *right now* would be "Pieces Of You" versions on either: a] a promo copy of "Pieces Of You" they MAY have gotten two years ago (and *might* still have) or b] the 'You Were Meant For Me' CD single (Foolish Games is the B-side) that they would have to *buy* at a store like the rest of us since the 'You Were Meant For Me' promo CD sent to them last September only has 'You Were Meant For Me' on it. Am I missing something here? I mean, if EVERY radio station in the USA wanted to play it tomorrow without running to a store or a DJs private collection, I seem to think that less than 25% of them could pull it off, and it of course would be the PoY version anyway. (which I'd LOVE to hear on the radio tomorrow!!) Mike /\//\\///\\\////\\\\/////\\\\\//////\\\\\\/////\\\\\////\\\\///\\\//\\/\ \ New to the list and confused? Well read by some. Never touched by others. Some chapters were good, really good. Others were fair. Some were sad Not a few, wasted. This thing they called life, Who's the author? Quite an artist. Or maybe it was luck? This story, is it fiction? Is it drama? Is it a tragedy? I try to follow along, read between the lines. Sometimes the point is crystal clear. Sometimes I read it again, And again. And still don't understand. Yes, my life's an open book. Some will read it. Some will burn it. Some will ban it. Some will understand? Where has fled, the fire? We touch, we hold, Then we part. The moment intense, But the moments gone. Fled like the light. Fled like the fire. Was it every really there? Do I really even care? Yes. Once. I remember a time. So long ago? The flame was brighter. Our touch, like fire. We kissed, we touched, We became as one. To be whole. One more time. That's the fire, of desire. Long time extinguished. But never forgotten. When we were fire. I look into eyes. They look back, And then past me. I hold you tight. But there's nothing to hold on to. Still I hold on. What else can I do. Oh, to be a moth. But one last time. I understand. I know, the pull of the flame. There in lay the real pain. Oh to be innocent. To never have known. But that would have been.... It will be posted one more time, and the tree will be closed after that. EDA Cover Tape Tape Tree - ------------------------ Hello everyone. This has been a long time in the making, but the tree for the EDA Cover Tape is officially underway! Huzzah! :) Some of you may be wondering, "What's the EDA Cover Tape?" Well, for you late-comers, the EDA Cover Tape is exactly what it is: EDAs doing cover songs. "Cover songs by whom?" you may ask. Well, Jewel. Duh. *bonk* :) Yes, a bunch of us strange EDAs covering Jewel songs. Oh, the horror! But amazingly enough, this tape is sweet. We have so much talent gathered here among us, it's scary. But enough of that. In no particular order, here is who is on the tape, and what songs they're doing (since I know you're interested): Liz Clark The ABCD Song Katie McCurry Let Them In WWSYS Carnivore Jessica Absence of Fear Angela DiIulio Flower I've Got the Blues More Than You Do Blues Been Down So Long Morning Song Greg Yanito I'm Sensitive Eric Montas Carnivore Foolish Games Angel Standing By William Cheng YWMFM Damon Schmidt Sometimes It Be That Way Rebecca A. Smith Near You Always Rafael Galianes Everything Breaks Sometimes Gerrit Kruidhof You're So Small Toni Dunn Old Lover's House YWMFM Kim Littlejohn Angel Needs a Ride Billy Tom Proven Flower Angel Needs a Ride Medley [a medley of Jewel songs] Nice ecletic mix, n'est-ce pas? Better than the 25 WWSYSs and 18 YWMFMs that some people thought we might get. But on with the tree. I decided to do this tree a different way than trees have been done in the past. Instead of asking for branches first, I will be asking for leaves first, but I will also ask those leaves if they would like to be branches. The reason I'm doing this is because I'm not quite sure what the demand for this tape will be, so I'd rather find out who wants it, and from that, determine how many branches I'll need to keep myself from going insane. So, to sign up for this tape, cut and paste the little form below and send it to me with the Subject: leaf - EDA Cover Tape, and we should all be kosher. cool? cool. I hope to have branches assigned by next week, and those branches should have their tapes, j-cards and leaf lists by the following week. Well, that is it. I hope everyone enjoys it. Take care. 'Bye!
