First, Jewel-Tide Carols. The J-card for this is *awesome* It's really great, better than a lot of commercial designs. The first track, "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer" with Lenedra is incredibly cute. And I was mighty impressed by "6th Avenue Heartache". How many other singers do you know that have sung with Bob *and* Jacob Dylan? Jewel Rocks the Paradise: This is officially my favorite Jewel tape. Better than Innerchange, better than Jewelstock. Great quality, the best collection of all her songs. She was really in full form that night. I especially liked her impersonation of Tom Petty during "I'm Sensitive." I'd also like to thank the efforts of Dan Stark and Mr.BB. As well as the numerous EDAs who brought this material to the list. The ability for everyone to have rare material at such high quality takes a lot of effort. This is something that I wrote a couple of years back when I thought all poetry had to rhyme. You can forgive me, I was only ten. I found it while I was wading through stories and poetry I had written over the past several years. It fits my mood. Warning, this is my rainiy day self. It's not the cheeriest. Rage Deep within your mind I sleep, Silent, dormant, in the deep. Brooding over an old thought, Twisting things that anger wrought, Of deceit, I am a sage. Bursting forth, you can't contain, Frenzied, I forever rain, Fire, fury, wrath, and bile. I have no grace, and I lack style, Just crazed fervor never staged. Set off at friends, ones you love, Without cause; no one's above, My contempt for great and small. To stop me, their is no wall, To trap me there is no cage. With my power I destroy, Happiness, bliss, love and joy. I fester, grow volatile. Not dead, submerged all the while. I am rage. This is something I wrote more recently, inspired by my brother. I posted something rather long about him a while ago. The system I speak of is school. I guess you could apply it to some jobs, like being a computer programer or a factory worker, they are all impposible boring. The Mundane Misery of the Meticulous Monotony I can't explain it. Endless days, Rushing by in a stampede. And my boring, simple life, Is driving me insane. The painstaking routine, Going on and on and on. And I don't know, How long that I can take this My mind can only bend so far, Dulled by the simplicity, Of endless streams of work. Damn this system, Crushing brilliant minds. Turning them to anything, To break the mundane manner, In which there lives are lived. What do you think? I can't judge myself, I think Everything I write is crap. The first song of Jewel's that touched a special place in my heart was "I'm Sensitive". As strange as this may sound, I feel that that song explains who I am in a way better than I can explain me myself. Obviously, the first time I heard the term "EDA" was in that song and it has left a life-long impression on me. Love is a beautiful thing, so share it with as many people as you possibly can.
