How about playing a fun April Fool's Day joke on Jewel or the Rugburns? :-D :-D :-D Any ideas? And how about this for meeting ahead of time and such: 1. Show starts at 8pm right? We meet in the City somewhere and eat lunch at 2pm (Pier 39 sound good?) then head off and go hang out somewhere for a while (shopping or exploring the City? Starbucks anyone? Haight-Ashbury district?) 2. Around 2 hours before the show we head off for the Berkely Community Center Theatre and try to catch the sound check or some of the Rugburns hanging out outside (as they often do I am told). Oh and we have to bring some socks and underwear for them and some sweets for Bibi! :-) 3. Near to concert beginning, when we are let inside, go meet Bibi where she will be selling Jewel merchandise and find other EDAs who are there (remember to where blue ribbons and Jewelstock shirts and bring posters and signs. I, myself, was thinking about bringing a megaphone and a huge sign and maybe a bell too!) 4. After the concert go raving in the city or clubbing or something or just go out for dinner, coffee or alcohol or just hang out for a while with the Rugburns and then leave? So how's that sound? I don't like hearing it too loud, because I don't believe her music should be played at a loud volume, or a volume too low. I like it just in the middle. It sounds so pretty and peaceful. But other songs, like from Bush and No Doubt, I like hearing really really loud. That kind of music wouldn't sound right [to me anyways] at a low or moderate volume. When LeAnn Rimes won, I was a little upset, because I didn't believe that she was worthy enough of beating Jewel, but I didn't know LeAnn that well. Does anyone know what I mean here? Perhaps that is also what lies behind her "hands manifest thought" motif: her hands play the guitar which we all know certainly manifests thought for her, and without her hands strumming her guitar she is still playing, still manifesting thought with her a part of her body, her whole instrument. Subject: adrian and i'm sensitive Yesterday, While I was listening to my favorite CD of the moment... poy, I was doing absolutely nothing when Adrian came on and sat down turned off all of my lights and turned it up loud. I became moved by this song like I never was before. I was really feeling the pain by some of these characters. I saw him lying on the hospital bed, seeing his almost dead state, I felt like Mary Epperson. And I felt how horrible it must feel to have someone like Adrian in your life. " He's awake but still not there" my god, was I ever moved! And the reactions of the town people were "Everyone in town had that 'I’m so sorry look'", like the cold people today. Then it ended, I was unbelievably moved, and depressed, then "I’m sensitive" and the joyful "dodo, dodo" (sorry) came on, and I was extremely happy that the most joyful happy song (my opinion) came on. Giving food to poor people with faith, and just the idea and rhythm of the "dodo, dodo" just makes me smile! I now know why Jewel placed those songs back to back. I could not take another deep depressing song like Adrian. I would have to turn off the CD, I wouldn't be able to take it! Just like Daddy and Angel standing by back to back. Not to the same degree but again, the same idea. I believe that Jewel took a lot of time just deciding the order of the songs. Opening up with her single (which I don’t particularly like, putting your single first, not the song I love that), but then tosses in some real deep sorrowful Jewel in poy. I love, this CD, and I love Jewel, definitely one of the worlds angels. my god I can't say enough about her! i know this is deeper then my ususal comments but it was just like a revelation, i usually don’t pick up on these things :) Well I guess that's long enough Scott "There's no such thing as a failure who keeps trying", J. Assuming anyone will believe anything I say anymore (after last night ;) I firmly believe it was Jewel: 1) Jewel did not appear on stage during the Rugburns set as she usually does. 2) She came for her set very late (did someone say 10pm?) 3) Her previous AOL chats also answered the 'common' questions. (Remember they are common to US because of this list, not common to most of the USA) 4) I was told by someone who lived in the area that AOL HQ is very near where Jewel performed. So it would have been very easy for her to either do the chat at AOL HQ and then scoot to the show or for AOL to set it up at the 9:30 Club 5) If she couldn't make it for any reason, I think she would have just cancelled. 6) AOL has a strict TOS (Terms of Service) Policy, one of which is the rule against impersonation of any member, especially a celebrity. It seems unlikely to me AOL would purposefully allow and enact a celebrity impersonation, especially since AOL has cancelled the accounts of at least 3 Jewel impersonators that I revealed to Lenedra last summer at Woodstock. I Know have less respect for Howard than i did before. He is such a liar. okay... MAYBE Jewel did say yes to go with him... *mabye*... i doubt it though, i mean Howard Did send a guy to insult her at the grammy nominee announcements, do you really think she just forgot about it? and i'm *sure* Jewel Doesnt enjoy his sence of humor... and i'm also pretty sure that she would never Appear on his show in fear of being humiliated... I'm having a hard time I happen to know for a fact (confirmation via a friend at AOL and a friend-of-my-mother's at Nettwerk) that the Sarah McLachlan live chat was not, in fact, live. The questions were drawn up and sent to Sarah in advance. They were then submitted by a 'shill', and answered by a created Sarah character. [ Daniel M. I think they should have the EDA design on it, whatever we decide(d) that is.
