I do not believe that WHFS is selling the disc. I was just in DC two weekends ago, and the Kemp Mill Records at 19th & L in NW still had copies. Your best bet might be to call DC info for the number for Kemp Mill, and see if they handle phone orders. Or maybe if any EDA's live in the DC-MD-VA region, they could assist. :) The Just Passin Thru Compilation is a wonderful disc, and proceeds benefit "Healthcare for the Homeless" i hope this helps peace, dave *+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+* Dave DiCicco peaches@dmapub.dma.org "Innocence Maintained" is a moderated, news only email list providing its subscribers with timely information about Jewel Kilcher. I just wanted to write about my little Jewel experience this morning. O.K. so before I leave for school I try to catch the first 15 minutes of All My Children. Well today's show started out with several coffee house scenes. And in the background they were playing YWMFM. By the end of the coffee house sequence they got to the start of the last verse, then the scene was over. Then, when they came back to the coffee house a few minutes later, they were continuing the scene where they had left off, but they started YWMFM from the beginning. During the second run they managed to play the whole song with the last "You were made for me" drowning out as they faded to black. I was very excited ... but by that time I had to turn it off and go to school. Just wanted to mention it. Thanks. Now , my friend hung out with me all day , and I think I motivated her to continue her anorexic path. You see , everytime we saw tv together and a the Obsesson Girl came on , I started to bitch and whine about how I thought that Mossy girl is just perfect physically. So please girls , don't listen to us men when we become fixated with a celebrety's demeanor , ignore us and ignore those nasty ads. I have found out that some girls , including my girlfriend , don't get upset when I start fantasizing about Kate Moss cause they're confident that they are ten times prettier than just a cute , and in these days , sickly pale / drugged face. My friend is fine , but I think she still goes to a shrink . She lost ,in 2 months time, 31 pounds , going from 120 to 89 , she being 5-5. It really scared me , and just after they found out about her disorder , I wrote her this song. Hi Y'all, Remember last month I posted I was in the process of re-writing the "Welcome To Jewel" file (aka FAQ), to break it up into four seperate files? (With the blessing of Jeff Wasilko, the owner of the Jewel mailing list) This way, each new subsciber will get four distinct Emails instead of the LONG "Welcome To Jewel" one that presently is sent. Well, the first part (Jewel Mailing List Netiquette & New Member Guide) is nearly done, and I'll be posting the URL (web address) soon for the web site version. For those that can't surf the web, I plan to have a full text version posted soon after. I feel it needs a little more work, but I want to "open it up" to all very shortly, as it's growth and success can come from suggestions from every one of us. The "more work" can come later, as ideas roll in. The "project" basically, is the breaking up of the "Welcome To Jewel" file. It's four parts will be: 1) Jewel Mailing List Nettiquette and New Member Guide (web & text version) 2) Jewel Frequently Asked Questions [FAQ] (text only, although online too) 3) Jewel History (text only, although online too) 4) Jewel Discography (web & test version....web version to be Adam's PoJ site) The Jewel FAQ and History will basically just be re-organizations of what is already in the "Welcome to Jewel" file, although updated. However, as I said previously, what is in the "Jewel Mailing List Nettiquette and New Member Guide" can benefit from input from list members. While I myself have put together what's there now (with the advice/input of about 15 EDAs), I'll want list members to Email in to me what should be added, what should be taken out, what should be re-worded, etc. The purpose of this site (and the text version) is to make this list a better one for as many members as possible. To help new members get their feet wet and to "fit in" faster, there is a section on "List Acronyms" and one called "Names & Stuff You Should Know". To help new members AND list veterans there is a "Do's And Don'ts", an explanation of the "Three Versions Of The Mailing List" and how to subscribe or unsubscribe to each. There is also a "Majordomo School". Examples of what is in these sections are: 1) List Acronyms - self explanatory 2) Names & Stuff You Should Know - things like: Who is Lenedra? What is a tape tree? How does it work? What is Angelffood?, Big Blue?, "Adopt A Newbie"? etc 3) Three Versions of this list - self explanatory 4) Majordomo School - Majordomo is the software that runs this list. You can use majordomo to get limited information about the list. Such as, if you forgot a list members' Email adresss, you MAY be able to get it from majordomo by Emailing to majordomo@smoe.org and putting in the correct command. If you only remember part of the Email address, you CAN get it from majordomo. (This will help eliminate anyone from having to post to the list for an Email address, you just ask majordomo) If you want a list of everyone on any version of the list, you can also get it from majordomo. It's with the "Jewel Mailing List Nettiquette and New Member Guide" that anyone can help determine what's in it, and I encourage help. Again, once it's online, I want anyone who feels something should be added, or is unclear, or maybe something should be taken out or changed, to feel free to Email me. This site (and the text version) will exist to work for us and hopefully to make the list a better one. With input it can be. If you wish to make suggestions now, feel free to do so, however I ask one favor of you. In the SUBJECT of your Email, please ONLY have the word "guide" I plan to automatically filter these Emails, plus this way I'll be able to identify them easier. America is after all the land that gave us crap like Boys2Men, >Bryan Adams, Mariah Carey - true they all have a bit more musical talent... Well, I have to give discredit where discredit is due. Bryan Adams is from Canada, along with (eeeeh, my teeth hurt) Celine Dion. However, I do profusely apoligise for any part I may have had in exporting Expose' to the rest of the world. :-) Besides, can't we talk about GOOD music here? :-) ------------------------------ Date: 30 Jan 1997 04:36:43 -0000 From: "Helen Gladman" Subject: NJC: My Ignorance as An Australian (was the Spice Girls) To all those people I offended by 1) slagging off Bryan Adams - I'm not sorry!!! 2) Saying he was a crappy American *artist* (scoff) I am sorry. He's (IMO) a crappy Canadian musician. Hey, it's a personal thing. I was going to make a lame joke and say "Canadian - American? It's all the same to me.' But of course I'm not quite that ignorant. I can even tell the difference between Canadian and American accents!! Down this end of the world, we tend to think of America and Canada as one and the same. SORRY!! Don't flame me anymore please??? And with my hectic lifestyle, I've found it is just really too much time to read the mail from the list. I've had a great time here, and would like to thank you all for your help and support. Please make the list to become well known, around the world, as the greatest mailing list ever! Goodbye, until we meet again, Andrew/Rugrat BTW: Can anybody please mail me with how to unsubscribe...I forgot :) ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 29 Jan 1997 22:59:55 -0700 (MST) From: Chopped Liver Subject: Re: JC: Corporate rock and Jewel It's nice to be able to fool yourself into thinking that any artist who signs with a record label is not selling out just a little. Comparing different degrees of knuckling-under to label pressures between Alanis and Jewel is useless. We don't now enough about either to say how much compromise each has made to get along with their record companies. All I know is that Atlantic has given Jewel enormouse latitude in bringing her CD around. They estimated a maximum of 50,000 sold for the life of the CD and continued to tour her and let her own live performances sell it. She must feel a lot of gratitude and if she thanks Atlantic for their support, who can blame her? Unless you have your own label, like Ani DeFranco, you must compomise.
